Must I contribute to society is it not enough to have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge?

Sorry, the "racism is my special interest" white guy from highschool art?? Can I ask about that?
Yeah sure lmao. Basically I took a digital art elective in my sophomore year, and there was this guy in the class that always seemed off to me. I'm neurodivergent so keep that in mind but he just so happened to fit that specific brand of "white boy with autism who has been coddled his entire life by ableist parents and doesn't understand that actions have consequences". I had nothing in particular against him up until this point, he was just some guy that happened to be kind of tactless about star wars and maybe was rude occasionally. We had this assignment to draw any kind of portrait from a reference, and instead of doing a person-by-person critique the teacher had us put the art up on our monitors and do a gallery walk type thing. My (black) friend went with a lightning theme and drew this really cool girl with white eyes and white afro, but she also was on the other side of the classroom looking at other people's art. I was kind of standing around her monitor and this mf walks up, looks at the art for a minute or so, turns to me and goes ''You know the hair was an interesting choice" in a really disgusted tone. I asked him why and he casually (in a very weird ''oh we're both men so it's fine" way) went ''Idk its just really... big. It looks like cotton." I go "that's lowkey racist what the fuck". This mf looks me in the eye and goes "Actually, it's not. Racism is one of my special interests. I'm just saying its lazy to only draw...that kind of hair'' and proceeded to try and explain the concept of racism and his fascination with nazi germany to me? for like 2 minutes before I walked away. I also later caught him complaining about woke diversity in new movies being unacceptable so uh ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
