M!R who's suddenly got all these new instincts they don't know how to handle.

now obviously they'll avoid being rude but they can't help but want to groom their companions, so they're always dusting their shoulders, rearranging a backpack, or picking things off them like leaves and grass.

Wukong LOVE'S this, man's touch starved and now he's being groomed? Like properly? Man's in heaven (lol) When wukong starts grooming them back M!R IS SO HAPPY and doesn't even know why but it's NICE

Now, since M!R is based off of me, she's already a pretty touchy person (her love language is physical touch, to boot!), so think normal human social touching just CRANKED to 11! Poor reader is gonna have such a hard time keeping her hands off of everyone out of respect, she's gonna drive herself bonkers!

Once she meets Wukong she's gonna be touch-starved herself. 0_o Can't exactly be hanging off of a monk's shoulders or picking through his non-existent hair (lol).

Like in the original ittw fic, she'll be hanging with Wukong at the bottom of the mountain, though mostly because she's assigned to keep an eye on the trapped monkey, and totally just goes ham on the grooming. Like, this man is POLISHED... in the areas she can reach.

I'm sure it wouldn't take Wukong long to start grooming her back, either, considering they're both going on the same journey.

Bro, what if... They just start sleeping next to each other? Like a communal sleeping pile? God, that'd be adorable. I'm all for the cuddles! (That's it, that's cannon. They sleep in a 2-person cuddle pile before romance starts)

GOD THATS SO ADORABLE. This is how I’m literally writing M!R in my au fic for ittw too so the coincidence is hilarious lmao. I also really like the idea of Sun Wukong being like “You have a home with me now, don’t be sad!” to Reader and she just looks at him and cries.

(I didn’t really make demon monkey reader but i like to think that i made it popular totally by accident, so seeing this made me extremely happy)

I love the idea of Monkey!Reader for many reasons but like, imagine an isekai’d monkey reader (or just one without a home to return to) who is lamenting not being able to go home (whether or not because it’s simply not possible or because there’s no way they can go home as a monkey) only to be met with Wukong who just like…casually flicks their ear or somethin and goes “Your a Sun now. Sun Y/N. Bam. Now you have a home.”

Like he’s super protective of the monkeys on his own mountain and considers every single one of them to be his family so I think he’d just immediately call dibs on M!R (or any other monkey in need of a home for that matter)

To save his ego he had a private chat with Sophie and he was very dramatic about it. He just wants to be her special boi even if he doesn't want to admit it.

What really happened..well...let's just say that there was a tiny misunderstanding and the secret admirer was just a normal guy who just wanted to thank Sophie for giving advice. But alas it was too late and the rumors spread like wildfire. Marshal Liu informed Sun Wukong that there might be a possibility that Sophie has a secret admirer according to the rumors around the Flower Fruit Mountain (especially in the palace).

And all I could think about was... where is MK in all this?

Truthfully, all I could think of is MK's probably gonna be the one to have accidentally brought them here with an ancient artifact while fighting a demon or maybe something out of Wukong's hoard of artifacts/treasure or even from somewhere like an ancient temple without meaning to XD. He'd probably stand there like this 🧍while those two dorks are worrying/panicking (mostly reader) their heads off on where on earth (or preferably 'in the multiverse') they are without even noticing him there. If he's with his friends while this is happening they'd probably either have a mix of feeling shocked or even amazed. I'd probably imagine Pigsy saying like "Oh no, there's two of them now" followed by an offended 'Hey!' from Wukong in this universe XD. And if another reader does exist in this universe, I'd imagine that she'd also be in shock and amazed to see another version of her from another dimension whose supposedly currenty on a Journey To The West nonetheless (though she probably doesn't need to know that the only reason she was there in the first place is because she died and got isekai'd by a certain Goddess of Mercy to accompany the pilgrims on the journey).

It's all up to you! I'd like to hear what your idea of where he would be at this time.

Though if you want, you could also imagine yourself on where he might be at this time XD.He could be delivering noodles and have a feeling that something's wrong or maybe he's probably at Wukong's, training while this all is happening. Then if so, he wouldn't be the one to meet those two first, they'll probably either meet his friends or foes.

Guys, ittw is not an au it's a reader insert fic I made. If anything, Isekai is the au but NOT Isekai'd to the West. It's a title. Not an au. Please stop treating it like it is. You can make your own isekai and jttw content just come up with your own name for it.

I named my fic Isekai'd to the West so it'd be unique and recognizable but also tie-able to the original work of Journey to the West. I chose it out of a long list of other names for that exact purpose, and now it feels like that's been ripped away from me...

I really like the love potion trope with the dark twist. Where everyone sees the person as perfectly "fine," when on the inside, it's an obsessed torture mind flooding.

The Love Potioned victim is hardly a person anymore, just pure devotion and obsession. So our hero has to break the spell, now turning curse, to get the actual version of the person they love back. Even if that version of them don't share their feelings in return, because having a real person, is better than a lovesick shell.

M!R gets hit with some kind of magic that causes her to speak in her native language for 24 hours,

after playing some intense charades she ends up just humming to herself or sitting in silence. This is one of the times that wukong realizes how attached he is since he really wants to talk to her or just hear her voice.

Him just having that oh, OH, moment and having a whole crisis while readers like, humming Despacito or something

(I just have lots of thoughts about them PINING 🥹)

Oh, this would be the absolute perfect moment for Wukong to realize that this very odd monkey demon he's spent almost all of his time with for the past... however many months it is is VERY important to him. Not enough for love quite yet, but definitely doesn't want her to ever leave. Though, the initial "tf is she saying" would be very funny.

M!Reader: Wow, okay, that magic ball of energy totally didn't fucking hurt at all.

Wukong (and the others): The fuck kind of language is that? Speak Cantonese like a normal person!

M!R: The hell you talking about? I'm speaking just like normal!

Tripitaka: Ah, seems like she's been cursed.

M!R: Cursed?! How do we lift it?!

One very long and arduous game of charades later.

Wukong (extremely frustrated): Let me communicate with my best buddy already! ಥ Дಥ)っ

-everything about the ittw au, except macaque joins as a new companion and gets attached to reader cause she's kinda nice to him

-wukong is suitably spiced about it

-it's one of those "i can clearly see he's still not a good guy, why aren't you believing me, what do you mean our circumstances are basically the same" type of monologues for swk. bro doesn't understand why this guy who tried to kill them a lil while ago is all buddy-buddy with his human now

-this is kinda an excuse to have a white-furred version of mac who's less of a snarky bastard and more....nice is NOT the right word, but he wants to help. like, help reader and the monk exclusively. he doesn't really care about the other four but can play nice if he has to

-reader vouched for him after the impersonation incident, which, along with the buddha's assistance, saved him from swk's wrath. reader's argument was something along the lines of, "he's endangered, AND we just so happen to be on a quest for redemption so he'll fit right in!"

-as lonely and grateful to be alive as he was, the six-eared macaque begged to join his savior on the quest. the pilgrims could do with another powerful demon companion, couldn't they? (and just to save some grief, im gonna say they catch him before he can cannibalize any of the ffm monkeys. i ain't messing with that.)

-all the pilgrims but sun have accepted him into the group

-mac latches onto reader pretty hard. she's nice, she doesn't judge him too hard (but she still judges him, like he deserves), she helps remind him to be kind, she remembers to keep her voice down when speaking to him...he's getting gradually more and more smitten.

-of course, swk HATES this. that's his human!! this is his journey!! why does this asshole get to tag along and continue his attempts to steal both!? wukong knows six-ears is just trying to get a rise out of him, just trying to get him to attack so he can play the victim.

- macaque is only sorta trying to do that. what he wants is reader's attention. and an easy way to get it is by being hurt or upset. he clocked reader as the bleeding heart type the moment he laid ears on her, so any chance he gets; he's hurt~ monkey king's being mean to him~ he's only trying to help~

I would think child au!Sun Wukong would have really need a friend since when we're children, we really need a connection with someone that isn't scared or disgusted by our eccentricities, someone willing to play despite what we "are".

I also can't help but think that child au!Sun Wukong is somehow a bigger menace, and so someone was like, "Just give em' a playmate" instead of really doing anything. 🤔🤨😮‍💨
