Beste, lieve vrienden van Zael. U heeft het misschien al in de Meppeler Courant gelezen uit een interview met Ton Henzen: ik ga stoppen met Zael als minitheater nu ik nog gezond ben. Er is ook goed nieuws:

1. Er komen nog twee heel bijzondere afscheidsconcerten in februari en maart

2. Met de opgerichte Stichting Klassiek Drenthe overleg ik of en zo ja hoe we de opgedane kennis en ervaring verder kunnen tillen in een volgend Erato festival. Klassieke muziek is van wezenlijk belang voor groei, vrijheid, vrede en welzijn in de buurt.

Een mooiere wereld

Op zaterdagavond 26 februari komt er een vurig en humoristisch theaterconcert in de geest van Astrid Lindgren, die beroemde, vrijgevochten boerendochter, schrijfster, schepper van Pippi Langkous. Het Zweeds-Nederlandse duo De Andersons, Anna Ågren en Roel Dullaart, laat zich voluit inspireren door Astrid en gaan gewapend met liedjes, humor en existentiële vragen op zoek naar antwoorden die ons allemaal aangaan. Het optimistische duo was al eerder in Zael. Daar was toen ook onze Commissaris van de Koning Jetta Klijnsma bij. Hun inspirerende en blij makende levenslust past zo goed bij wat ik met Zael wilde dat zij heel goed bij dit afscheid passen. Op www.zael.nl zijn de kaartjes online te koop.

Sephardische liederen

Op 12 maart komt een zeer ervaren en gepassioneerd duo naar Zael. La Serena. Lucette van den Berg en Annedee Jaeger zingen en spelen eigentijdse arrangementen, een warme mengeling van klassieke, flamenco, Joodse en Arabische muziek. De innemende Lucette was hier eerder met Jiddische liederen en Israëlische volksmuziek. De bevlogen gitarist Annedee Jaeger was hier al eerder als lid van het Eisler Trio. Ik ben heel trots elf jaar Zael met beide kunstenaars en deze bijzondere muziek te mogen afsluiten. Ook deze voorstelling vindt u op de site onder programma en kaartjes.

Duizenden bezoekers in elf jaar

Het minitheater Zael was voor mij een fantastische invulling van die periode uit mijn bestaan. Dat begon op 21 juli 2011 met een schilderijen expositie van Jantine Spans uit Meppel. Sedertdien waren er vele intieme concerten, schilderijententoonstellingen, poppenspelen in het kader van Puppet International, vergaderingen van D66 en de Vrijmetselarij, cursussen klassieke muziek, kerstconcerten van Musica Vocalis, jazzavonden flamenco concerten, open monumentendagen, tango danslesessen, presentaties van dichtbundels, schildercursussen van Hanny van den Heuvel en Ankie Hofman-Blei. Maar ook optredens van prominenten zoals Jan Terlouw, Miranda van Kralingen, Margot Dijkgraaf, Marga Kool, Charlotte Stoppelenburg, Kaoru Iwamura, het Utrecht String Quartet, Maria Marin, Henk Boerwinkel en andere landelijke en regionale kunstenaars.

In die periode bezochten omstreeks 12.000 betalende bezoekers de optredens of events. Geregeld gaven gemeente, lokale fondsen zoals het Waarborgfonds en het Burgerweeshuis en het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds subsidies om alle activiteiten mogelijk te maken. In 2019 ontving ik hiervoor de Henk Boerwinkel Cultuurprijs van een lokaal comité en mondden al deze activiteiten uit in het eerste en tweede Erato Festival.

Henk Boerwinkel - beroemd poppenspeler-: “Ik herinner mij verschillende prachtige muziekavonden in je knusse zaal, onvergetelijk allemaal en de sfeer van die avonden deed me vaak denken aan vroeger tijden in een oud Russisch landhuis. Adriaan heel veel dank voor die prachtige jaren.”. Waldy Bruil – frequent bezoekster -: “Meer dan 10 jaar hebben we kunnen genieten van de programma’s die je hebt gebracht. Met als sluitstuk gelukkig het Erato festival afgelopen november. We zullen het zeer missen”.

Daarom hoop ik dat we met de Stichting Klassiek Drenthe en het Erato festival verder kunnen groeien.

My schedule never matched up... This was my first Suntory Dream Matc <3 Maria was super happy :) <3

I got there when the gates opened, so I watched fielding practice I found Gan-chan <3

In the 7th inning, Gyaosu Naito was difficult <3 :) <3 :) <3 :) And, Shibata threw the ball and it was out!! Amaziiiing!!

B*B is amazing!!!!! When I was small, I met B*B for the first time at Nagoya Dome The next day, I met him again and I wanted to get his autograph, And he properly Wrote my name, signing it to Maria-chan :)
