The Power of the Sun vs. Age

So... in AMC's IWTV S01 and S02 we see a couple examples of vampires at different age points in or near the sun, not including Claudia and Madeleine's execution.

Pictured are Louis immediately after his transformation into a vampire, and then in Dubai at 144 years old.

As for Armand we have him pictured at 441 years old in Paris and 465 years old in San Francisco. I know the neither of Armand pictures have him directly in the sunlight exactly, but in the first it definitely seems like Louis is using it is a barrier of sorts. As for the second one that's the same day he rescues Louis for his attempted suicide in direct sunlight.

So when do we thinking a vampire is old enough to be able to withstand the sun? Some time between 144 and 441 years old is a very broad span of time.

(And yes, I'm sure the strength of the makers blood might have some effect on it, but without knowing when Lestat meet Akasha and gained her blood, at 120 years old when he turned Louis, he still had to protect himself from the sun.)

what are some unanswered question you have in regards to the iwtv show especially s02?

It is sweet of you to ask, anon, but honestly I'm kind of just along for the ride? There are a lot of gaps that the show may or may not fill in as it goes forward, but I am not approaching it wondering 'so what is the definitive answer to x?' I love ambiguity and loose ends. They fit for a story like this one, about imprecise memory and different viewpoints and people trying to make sense of the things that have happened to them.

I am excited to see the choices that the people making the show will make going forward in terms of adapting the novels and building on the story they've created thus far!

I hope this isn't a disappointing answer 💚!
