It fluctuated a bit throughout the episode, but I am glad to see that with the anime introduction of Aoi Kaguragi's that someone at Production I.G. was convinced to stop bleaching his skin so much like there were in promo images before the anime's release.

Because imagine reading the manga & seeing this:

And then seeing these official colourings (including a bonus art directly drawn by the mangaka):

Only for the first promo images of the anime having him look like THIS:

(I'm still annoyed they changed his Mint-Green hair, but I assume that was to make it stand out more compared to Haruichi Izumo's green hair, and it is nowhere near as bad as the skin-tone thing. Sucks that also completely deleted his already tiny eyebrows though).

it's bizarre to me that it was inconsistent within the episode. I didn't recognize him when he came into the bath bc his skin tone was so different and they gave him huge muscles that had been hidden under his uniform

his official manga color scheme is way more appealing than the anime look... why would they nerf him in this way

HAVE YOU SEEN THE FIRST TWO EPISODES OF KAIJU NO. 8?? IT'S SO GOOD AND FUNNY I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!

Haruichi Izumo has the same English VA as Ichiji; he has only spoken ONE line and I am on my KNEES!! I can't wait to see who Iharu Furuhashi's VA is.

I have not watched it!! Or read it-- Actually, I only know it exists bc Crunchyroll keeps recommending it to me 😭 It doesn't look like my type of show at all but I'm sure it's good <33
