Jake taking care of you while you’re on your period 🥹🥹

Period Pains

Authors Note: This will probably be my last blurb for a little bit but my inbox is always open for suggestions just might take me a little longer to get to it than these recent ones have! Hope you like this anon :)

Your cramps have been relentless all day, refusing to let up. You’re curled on the couch, hugging a pillow to your stomach, eyes shut tight against the discomfort. Jake’s beside you, plucking idly at his guitar, but you barely hear it over the throbbing pain.

You exhale sharply, shifting in an attempt to get comfortable, but it only makes things worse. A quiet sigh leaves Jake’s lips as he sets his guitar aside, and then his hand is on you— soft, warm, fingertips barely brushing over your arm.

“Sweetheart,” he murmurs, voice laced with concern. “What do you need?”

You shake your head. “Nothing,” you say defeatedly.

Jake doesn��t push. He presses a kiss to your temple before slipping away, and you hear the quiet sounds of him in the kitchen— water running, the click of the kettle.

You frown, too drained to ask what he’s doing, but when he comes back, he kneels beside you, hands gentle as he reaches for the now lukewarm hot water bottle resting against your stomach.

You whine in protest, gripping it weakly. “Jake—”

“Shh,” he soothes, prying it from your fingers with care. “I’m just going to warm it up, love.”

Still pouting, you watch as he disappears into the kitchen again. A moment later, you hear the quiet pour of freshly boiled water, the sound oddly comforting in its own way. When he returns, the hot water bottle is warm and full, wrapped in a soft cover so it won’t burn.

He kneels again, his touch impossibly gentle as he tucks it into t he waistband of your sweatpants, adjusting it just right before tucking you under a blanket. The warmth seeps into you instantly, soothing, but when another wave of cramps rolls through you, you mumble, “My back hurts.”

Jake shifts, adjusting you until you’re laying on top of him, chest to chest, the hot water bottle wedged between your bodies. He can feel the heat of it against his stomach, but he doesn’t care— his arms come around you immediately, his hands dipping beneath your shirt and smoothing over your sides, thumbs pressing into the small of your back in slow, careful circles.

The relief is instant. A low groan slips from your lips, the tension in your muscles easing under his touch. Jake presses a soft kiss to the side of your head, murmuring something you can’t quite hear— just warmth, just love.

His hands continue their slow motion, working over your back with deliberate pressure. “That better, baby?” he whispers.

“Mhm,” you hum, sinking into him, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt. “You’re magic.”

Jake chuckles softly, but there’s no teasing in it, only warmth. “Just love you,” he says, his lips brushing your temple. “That’s all.”

You nuzzle into him, the weight of his arms, the steady beat of his heart, the soothing knead of his thumbs against your back— all of it lulls you into something soft, something safe.

“I love you,” you mumble sleepily.

Jake holds you just a little tighter. “I love you more.”
