If u are vegetarian and some ppl are bringing u to an izakaya, saying ‘just get whatever you like’, but on the menu all the exciting options appear very animal-y, never fear. here are my recs. all of the items are grilled:

jaga-bata (buttered grilled potato. if it’s a sweet potato, even better. don’t pass it up!)

gingko nuts. once they have been blistered over high heat they acquire a beautiful sweetness. usually seasoned with just a sprinkle of good salt

okra. the ones i’ve had are usually charred just a bit and then doused with a fragrant soy sauce afterwards. so sweet u will lose ur mind

shiitake mushrooms. personally prefer with salt, but if it has teriyaki sauce brushed on its also very good

shishito peppers. they’ll be a little grassy, prob the most vegetal of all the recs. but idk i just like blackened peppers lol. really nice with just some salt, if ur lucky u might get a spicy one

eggplant - it’ll probably have some miso brushed on. no way this won’t be good

Sadly the more exciting cherry tomato options tend to come wrapped in pork belly or bacon but if you just get grilled cherry tomatoes with salt and the place takes great care with its ingredients, its already very tasty! no end to what a good fire can do...

here is an ask what's your favorite thing about your favorite book you've read recently?

oh i’m SO glad you asked. my current favourite read is def Baba Yaga Laid an Egg (you can listen to me reading a short section of it here), which was recced to me by jaga @letterful a million years ago and it is SO. GOOD.

fave part of it so far is definitely Beba my friend Beba... she’s so important. canonically autistic old woman with absolutely massive breasts (this is plot relevant). she has long intellectual conversations WITH HERSELF about the sexual symbolism in paintings of parrots between the eighteenth and twentieth century and then goes “whew. so exhausted that was too smart for me 🥵.” she wins six hundred thousand euro at a casino by accident because she got confused while seeking change for five hundred which is all the money she has in the world. her best friends are: a young Muslim boy she met Yesterday whose war trauma manifests as permanent priapism; an elegant thrice-widowed 6’3” human tower fan; and a wizened old retired gynaecologist who wears both legs in one (1) giant fur boot. the tower fan friend introduces her to a handsome american and Beba’s immediate response is “nice to see you! die.” yes she has speech aphasia and meant “bye” but i maintain that the sentiment here was real.

Wherein Hermione follows the old Muggle admonition that she keep her enemies closer just a little too strictly to the letter, and unwittingly gets herself a charmingly homicidal boyfriend in the process.

yeah, i know it's inherently cringe to discuss parry hotter on main in the year of our lord 2021 (even setting aside rowling’s horridness—thankfully, fanfiction is the one aspect of the series she doesn’t profit off of), but i am giving myself a dispensation. this fic (& its cult status in my internet niche) was immensely important to me at a very peculiar time in my life. i still re-read it on a regular basis (& let me tell you: it absolutely holds up), but goodness gracious, i genuinely miss it so much it hurts. the author has all but vanished off the internet (but? maybe they still check the comment section from time to time? i should like to think they do. so, if you end up liking it, please leave a nice comment nonetheless!). in any case, it is SUCH a great piece of romantic horror—think deathless meets heathers with a dash of angela carter’s signature awful tenderness (tender awfulness?) and (self-)destructive desire (reminiscent of plath’s works, too). definitely do give it a shot if you’re into that, even if you’ve never been that much into the series; meanwhile, i’m getting onto yet another re-read ❣️

Polish Legends

...according to Allegro :D

Hi! As a bonus to my recs post I’d like to tell you something about Legendy Polskie Allegro. It’s a special project of Allegro - the biggest online e-commerce platform in Poland. 

In 2015 and 2016, together with Platige Image (a Polish company specializing in computer graphics, 3D animation, and digital special effects, now working with Netflix on The Witcher series) and Tomasz Bagiński (a Polish illustrator, animator and director, nominated to for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2003 for The Cathedral, won BAFTA Award for Best Short Animation in 2005 for Fallen Art, also worked for Netflix on The Witcher) they produced a series of short science-fiction films, being a futuristic retellings or reworkings of well-known Polish legends and folktales. 

There are in total 5 films, published officially on youtube and free to watch (with English subtitles). They are loosely linked by certain characters, so it’s best to watch them in order:

The other films on the playlist are official music videos thematically linked with the short films - the songs are well-known and generally respected Polish songs covered by young artists. Actually all the songs that make up the soundtracks are old-ish Polish songs, chosen especially to fit the themes of the movies.

This series is not finished yet. There were even talks about a full-length movie, but it’s not happening for now. Hopefully they’ll get to it later :)

WARNING:

There’s just this thing though, these movies come with explicit language and some explicit imagery (a drawing of a d**k to be precise), and trigger warnings: kidnapping, death, suicide (which totally make sense in the context, so it’s not just shock value. We’re talking legends and myths here after all), blood and torture for one of the MVs (nothing really gore though).

Now, let me tell you about the actual legends that inspired those movies - it’s good to know them before you watch the retellings :)

1. Legendy Polskie: Smok >> inspired by the legend of The Wawel Dragon.

The oldest known telling of the story comes from the 13th-century work attributed to Bishop of Kraków and historian of Poland, Wincenty Kadłubek. The most popular, however, is a later retelling: 

The story takes place in Kraków during the reign of King Krakus, the city's legendary founder. Each day the evil dragon would beat a path of destruction across the countryside, killing the civilians, pillaging their homes, and devouring their livestock. In many versions of the story, the dragon especially enjoyed eating young maidens. Great warriors from near and far fought for the prize and failed. A cobbler's apprentice (named Skuba) accepted the challenge. He stuffed a lamb with sulphur and set it outside the dragon's cave. The dragon ate it and became so thirsty, it turned to the Vistula River and drank until it burst. The cobbler married the King's daughter as promised, and ruled the city of Kraków afterwards.

2. Legendy Polskie: Twardowsky & Twardowsky 2.0 >> inspired by the legend of Pan Twardowski.

According to an old legend, Twardowski was a nobleman who lived in Kraków in the 16th century. He sold his soul to the devil in exchange for great knowledge and magical powers. However, Twardowski wanted to outwit the devil by including a special clause in the contract, stating that the devil could only take Twardowski's soul to Hell during his visit to Rome – a place the sorcerer never intended to go. Other variants of the story have Twardowski being sold to the devil as a child by his father.

With the devil's aid, Twardowski quickly rose to wealth and fame, eventually becoming a courtier of King Sigismund Augustus, who sought consolation in magic and astrology after the death of his beloved wife, Barbara Radziwiłł. He was said to have summoned the ghost of the late queen to comfort the grieving king, using a magic mirror. The sorcerer also wrote two books, both dictated to him by the devil – a book on magic and an encyclopedia.

After years of evading his fate, Twardowski was eventually tricked by the devil and caught not in the city, but at an inn called Rzym (Rome in Polish). While being spirited away, Twardowski started to pray to the Virgin Mary, who made the devil drop his victim midway to Hell. Twardowski fell on the Moon where he lives to this day. His only companion is his sidekick whom he once turned into a spider; from time to time Twardowski lets the spider descend to Earth on a thread and bring him news from the world below.

In order to better understand the short film retellings, it’s also good to know that in Poland we gave some demons proper names :D 

Devil Boruta (Polish: diabeł Boruta) is a fictional character from Polish mythology, folklore and literature, associated with the Polish town of Łęczyca. The character is the transformation of the Slavic demon Boruta in post-Christianization times. He was usually considered to be a nobleman, and accordingly, he was usually busy with corrupting nobles, leaving other social classes to other devils. 

Devil Rokita (Polish: diabeł Rokita) is a Polish folk devil. He was specifically busy corrupting peasants, as opposed to, say, Boruta who dealt with the noblemen. While sometimes shown in any rustic setting, he was usually pictured standing on or near a willow tree at the edge of a swamp.

3. Legendy Polskie: Operacja Bazyliszek >> inspired by the legend of The Basilisk

According to a popular Warsaw urban tale, The Basilisk was a terrifying beast described as a rooster, snake or turkey, with the tail of a snake and the eyes of a frog. It guarded treasures hidden in the undergrounds of the tenement houses and it killed the intruders with the power of his eyes by simply looking at them. The beast died outsmarted by a young apprentice who went underground equipped with a mirror, which he always held in front of himself.

4. Legendy Polskie: Jaga >> inspired by the entity in Slavic folklore: Baba Yaga

The character of Baba Yaga was probably very important in the Slavic mythology, but it survived only in a degraded form as just another element of the folklore. She is depicted as an old, abhorrent witch living in a little hut standing on a chicken leg in the middle of the forest. She was often accompanied by a black cat, a raven, an owl or a snake. She used to kidnap people who got lost in her forest (especially children), then she murdered and ate them. Baba Yaga was also held responsible for making people ill. At the end of the story she usually fought with the hero and died loosing the battle. Sometimes Baba Yaga is depicted as a kind witch who helps people rather than murders them.

Susje is a visual artist and musician. His artistic and musical works are related to codes / languages researches of lost civilizations.

"ana deo" was the name used by the Nage population of Flores island in Indonesia to define a pair of statues with human appearances. They were used to symbolize the spirits of the ancestors and other supernatural beings and create a connection with them.

Belanja di Tunjungan Plaza

Tahun lalu saya pergi pada tahun 2013. Ini adalah pusat perbelanjaan yang luar biasa karena sejak tahun 1990an. Ada beberapa pusat perbelanjaan yang mengingat fakta bahwa ada istilah TP 1, TP2, TP3 dan sebagainya yang terkait. Saya telah tersesat di pusat perbelanjaan ini, karena tempat itu begitu besar, menghadap ke pemberhentian dimana, hehe. Ini adalah lima pusat perbelanjaan yang pergi dengan satu. Baru-baru ini, Pengadilan Tunjungan 5. Sebelumnya, selanjutnya akan bergabung kembali dengan Oleh Oleh Khas Surabaya Tunjungan Plaza 6. Sisanya dan yang lama, sampai taraf tertentu sesekali orang individu adalah TP 1 dan 2.

Pusat perbelanjaan ini memiliki beberapa nama, mulai dari TP 1 sampai 6, kombinasi pusat perbelanjaan yang substansial dan efisien, walaupun sampai batas tertentu bingung dengan tidak adanya data untuk tamu pertama. Bersih dan bersih, saran bagi keluarga di akhir minggu untuk berinvestasi di sini, pusat perbelanjaan yang paling dicintai di Surabaya .. smua full brand praktis disini. Hal ini juga di tengah kota kemana2 deket. Trs pusat perbelanjaan ini juga kaya. Apakah Anda memiliki akomodasi cuyy haha. Akomodasi Jual Surabaya Snow Cake Sheraton 5 bintang kerenn sama empat fokus juga. Wajib bagi penjelajah yang berkunjung ke Surabaya

Kami pergi ke pusat bersejarah Sampoerna karena kami harus mengikuti jalur warisan Surabaya. Ada 3 sesi awal pada hari Sabtu dan Minggu (09:00, 13:00, 15:00) dengan 3 kursus unik di setiap sesi. Ada juga kursus yang berbeda pada hari Selasa, Rabu, Kamis. Untuk menarik poin anda bisa mengunjungi situs resmi galeri ini. Administrasi ini gratis dan setiap orang hanya diperbolehkan untuk berpartisipasi dalam pertemuan setiap hari. Pada kesempatan itu Anda bisa backpedal ke surabaya dan jika tujuan nge shopping center aman untuk melakukan tempat jaga. Sepertinya saya tidak kelelahan disini. Tempatnya luar biasa, banyak pilihan, belanja, kuliner atau nonton semuanya bisa diakses di sini. Selain itu, sering ada acara menarik. Satu hal tanpa keraguan, melihat gangguan itu harus menjadi debutnya.

Pergerakan prinsip yang bisa Anda buat di sini adalah melihat Landmark Surabaya Symbol, khususnya Sura (ikan) dan Baya (buaya). Apa lagi yang bisa Anda kunjungi untuk mengunjungi Kebun Binatang Surabaya untuk melihat berbagai ekstasi liar yang aman di sana. Di sekitar tempat ini banyak ditemukan stasiun, yang menawarkan pilihan makanan dan kuliner dari penggilingan Surabaya.

Ketentraman Religius dengan Gereja Katolik, berdekatan. Pada hari Minggu pagi (4 Juni 2017) ada pasar lusuh di sekitar masjid dan masyarakat. Sangat kawanan, belum lagi beberapa tamu yang selesai. Rekomendasi untuk morning nibble darlings Masjid ini sangat imajinatif dan bangunannya indah. Beberapa tahun yang lalu, para tamu yang buka bisa mengunjungi menara masjid, melihat Surabaya dari ketinggian. Makanannya terlalu asin karena musim natal. Di beberapa sudut ada banyak discharge counter, sehingga terlihat suram. Selesai cukup, semua bisa diakses tapi di atas biaya klo belanja serupa di Jakarta.

Surabaya Town Square (SUTOS) adalah pangkalan rumah paling hit di Surabaya. Dengan gagasan udara semi terbuka dan banyak noda untuk dimakan enak, membuatnya sangat masuk akal untuk berkumpul dengan orang yang dicintai. Ada juga layar perak untuk film favorit. Tempat ini setiap hari yang pernah ada dari individu, dari daerah perkotaan yang berbeda. Juga tempat ini berada disebelah kebun binatang Surabaya, dan dekat dengan terminal Joyoboyo dan galeri tantular mpu. Pada kesempatan itu surabaya mengingatkan berselfi ria pada patung sura dan buaya.

Masjid al-akbar pergi salah satu tambalan saat ramadhan tiba, lebih dari 1000 orang pergi ke masjid terbesar melalui skema wilayah timur Jawa ini. Masjid ini ada pertemuan puncak yang juga bisa dinikmati para tamu umum, intinya dengan membayar Rp 2000 bs menghargai pemandangan surabaya dari sisi puncak. Indaaah terutama saat waktu bergerak menuju matahari terbenam. Berbeda dengan kemampuan untuk menghargai Takjil gratis di masjid al-Akbar, layanan pengumpulan terutama didukung oleh seorang menteri yang dapat dipercaya.

Bagi orang-orang yang berkunjung ke Surabaya, wajib masuk ke tengara ini sebagai tanda bahwa Anda sudah berwibawa ke Surabaya. Kawasan ini berada di depan Kebun Binatang Surabaya, namun mengejutkan area di dalam patung dan sekitarnya akan sangat panas di tengah hari jadi tolong rencanakan payung, krim matahari, dan sebelum pergi kesini.

Untuk pertama kalinya di Surabaya, taruh sy lgsg ke Sutos (Surabaya Town Square). Dari terminal pesawat Juanda cukup jauh. Dalam perjalanan jauh dari kemungkinan bs tidak naik taksi ya, krn argonya tersedak lehernya! . Cukup hanya untuk home base dan kongkow2 dengan teman sebaya. Kurang masuk akal untuk jalan keluarga. Ada tempat remang2 dan lebih masuk akal untuk anak muda gaulz.

Banyak yang pasti mengetahui bahwa Masjid Al Akbar adalah salah satu masjid terbesar di Indonesia. Telah ditemukan bahwa meskipun luas, jumlah tambahan. Seperti masjid besar lainnya, di masjid ini juga ada pelatihan taman kanak-kanak dan taman bermain yang benar-benar layak. Terlebih lagi ada tambahan toko umum, pusat kesehatan bahkan administrasi thibbun nabawi. Benar2 memberi dukungan total kepada masyarakat umum di sekitar masjid.

Inilah kesempatan pertama ketika saya menyambut keluarga untuk menghargai pesona patung Sure dan Baya. Sejak saat itu, saya telah menarik diri sendiri. Asma sangat parsial untuk melihat tempat ini, terutama narsistik. Tamannya sangat bagus.

Ke Surabaya niscaya dan melakukan foto serupa Iconnya surabaya donk patung sura dan buaya.

Patung ini berada di depan Kebun Binatang Surabaya. Untuk jalan dan harus sangat terlihat. Jika tidak ada daerah lain, terutama anggota dewan tinggi kapal selam.

Tak ada yang difoto saat menggunakan kamera sendiri. Jadilah seperti itu, pada kesempatan bahwa Anda memerlukan hasil yang lebih baik dan manfaat Kok foto langsung di area ini. Pada kesempatan malam di sini bagus, ada lampu. Seolah-olah, jika hari bahkan bisa bermain semua di kebun binatang surabaya adalah gelar kaki tumit kaki tumit.

Cukup banyak variasi makanan di sana. Mulai dari masakan konvensional, makanan Asia (makanan chinesse, makanan jepang, makanan singapura), makanan barat. Selain itu, ada home base dan tambahan clubbing dan rec center. Dalam sutos ini keputusan makanannya banyak, harus makan sangat banyak, nau nongkrong juga cukup konfirmasikan ,, tp kapan belanja kurang asyik ya ... pokoknya kalau tempat makan setuju dehhh

Tengara kota Surabaya berada tepat di depan Kebun Binatang Surabaya, tepatnya di jalan pertemuan antara Jalan Diponegoro dan Jalan Raya Darmo sebelah selatan Zona Wonokromo. Kawasan ini sangat penting, begitu menyerbu oleh individu. Terus di jalan menuju ke tempat ini juga mudah. Ada banyak kursus transportasi dan transportasi terbuka terus berlanjut.
