“Y/n?” The director waves his hand, “You with us?”

He nods, “Okay, so you’re going to hold up the bottle of perfume, spritz it and say your line, got it?”

He nods again, looking around at everyone before calling action. You lift the bottle up, pushing down on the stop, “No elegance is possible without perfume.”

“Have you had any symptoms of it?” She glances over at you as she drives, “Like have you felt sick or anything?”

“No, nothing, but isn’t that weird? Like aren’t I supposed to have symptoms?” You take a sip of your drink and she shrugs, “Not necessarily, some women go weeks without having any kind of symptoms at all. My sister, when she had my nephew, she didn’t find out until almost her second trimester.”

“That’s crazy. Like I’ve heard stories about people not even knowing they were pregnant until giving birth but like, I don’t know.”

“It’s different when it’s you going through this, but hey. We don’t even know if that’s the case. You’re getting yourself worked up over nothing.”

“Pretty well actually. They said it’ll be out within the next week, but they’re send me the video as soon as it’s done, so I’ll get to see it first.”

“Um, probably within the next day or two, but I have the other talk show and then a few photoshoots to do. I should be free within the next week or so.”

You tilt your head, “Yeah, definitely plan it. I’ll look at my schedule when I get back to the hotel and I’ll text you.”

“Sounds good.” Jake pauses, “Are you okay?”

“You haven’t really been texting and I just want to make sure that we’re still good from-“

You hang up and look at Gia, “It’s Jake!?”

“Shut up!” You cover your face with your hands, “Don’t, do that. Don’t.” You look at her and she raises her hands, “I’m just.. not surprised, okay. I’ve been waiting for the day you guys come out as a couple.”

“Do we really act like that?”

She scoffs, “with the way that you two look at each other.. I’m shocked no one else has said anything.” She grabs the bag, “Now come on. Let’s go find out if you’re freaking out over something or nothing.”

You make your way up to the hotel room, walking in and snatching the bag from her hand, “can you come with me. I’m scared.”

“Right behind you.” She laughs and follows you into the bathroom.

You grab the first box and open it up.

“Oh wait. I’ll go get a cup so you can do them all at once.” Gia walks out and you stand there, anxiously picking at the cardboard until she returns.

You take it, moving to sit down on the toilet while holding the cup under you. You tried to pee, but nothing, “I think I’m nervous.”

“Here.” She turns the tap on, “Try this.”

You lean over, setting the cup down on the counter and finishing up before moving to wash your hands. You dip the first stick in, then the second, then the third, then the fourth.

She nods, walking you into the triage room to take your vitals and everything. She asks you the questions and you answer them, filling her in on the last few weeks.

They get you back into a room, do the routine examination, and then it’s time to go for an ultrasound.

As you’re laying on the table, you can’t help but feel like something was off. Nothing bad, but you just felt like there was just something else coming.

“Alright, let’s get a look here and- oh!”

“Oh? Oh what?” You lift your head and the tech looks at you, “You did know you were pregnant, right?”

You nod, “Yeah? I tested like two weeks ago. All four came up positive right away.”

“Hmm, okay. Um, is this the first ultrasound that you’ve had with this pregnancy?” She looks at you and you nod, “It is.”

She turns the screen towards you, still keeping the wand on your belly, “So.. there is two babies right here.”

“T-two?” You sit up slightly and she points to the screen, “So here’s baby A. And then over here to the left is baby B.”

“Two babies?!”

You felt like you were going to pass out, “Oh Jesus Christ.” You lay back down, your arm folding over your eyes, “Two.. babies?”

“Yes, ma’am. Two babies.”

You take a deep breath, “Okay. Okay.” You take another deep breath, “This is not what I expected, I don’t know what thing I did, but this.. was not it.”

“Getting the news of twins is not an easy thing. Is the father in the picture by chance?”

You nod, “I mean, he’s a friend who I drunkenly slept with like a month, little over a month ago.” You sigh, “I’m going to tell him.. I promise I just..” you scoff, “I think I just need to process this before I do.”

“Do you have anyone here?”

“Yeah, my assistant is here with me. She’s in my room waiting for me.” You shake your head, “Oh my god.”

“I’ll take you back, I think they’re going to give you fluids and then you’ll be sent home.”

You nod, “Thank you.“

She takes you back to your room and Gia stands up, “Everything okay?”

You nod, “uh huh. Just perfect. Wonderful. Everything you can possibly imagine.” She walks over, “Okay. You’re freaking out, what happened?”

“Twins.” You blurt out, “Not one baby. But two babies are in there just making themselves cozy and I-“

“Okay. Okay. Deep breath. Deep breath.”

You close your eyes, taking a few slow breathes, “What the fuck am I going to do?” You ask calmly as you look up at her. She runs her hand over your hair, “You’re going to tell Jake so you aren’t doing this alone, okay?”

“Yeah, yeah.” You rest your head back, “Yeah.”

The nurse comes in and gives you fluids, and after an hour or so, you’re being discharged. You change and exit the hospital and make your way back to your house.

As you’re sitting out in the car with Gia, you take a deep breath, “I’ll tell Jake to come pick me up.”

“Good, good.” She nods, “Do you feel okay to go anywhere? I can stay until he comes.”

“I think I’ll have him buy me food, I am pretty hungry now, but I also have to pee.” You laugh slightly and bring your phone up, “Okay.”

You call Jake, and he answers within the first few rings, “Well look who it is. I didn’t expect to hear from you, little miss busy bee. Whats up?”

You laugh slightly, “Yeah, Jake, about that. I need you to come pick me up.”

He’s silent for a second, “You know I can’t just..drive to Paris right?”

“From my house. I’m not in Paris.” You sigh, “I’ll explain it then, just.. don’t tell anyone you’re coming to get me.”

“Um, yeah. Okay. I’ll be right there. Do you need anything?”

“We can go for food once you get me?” You look over at Gia and she smiles, giving you a nod. You look back out the window and sigh, “Thank you.”

“Yeah, no problem. I’m leaving no-“ he stops when Johnnie yells, “Where are you going?”

“None of your fucking business.” Jake yells back, failing to stifle back laughter, “I’ll be back in a little.”

“I’m hanging up now.”

“Not if I be-“

You hang up, laughing slightly as you rest your head back, “Fuck, okay.”

Gia reaches over and takes your hand, “It’ll be okay. Jake might be in shock at first, but he won’t leave you stranded.”

“I know, it’s just..” you pause, trying not to cry, “It’s scary.”

She nods, “It is. But you’ll get through it.. I promise.”

You get out, walking into the house so you can go to the bathroom before you leave with Jake. Once you finish, you walk out to the living room, sitting down on the couch.

“Did they give you pictures?” Gia asks and you nod, “Oh, shit. Yes.” You pull the ultrasound from your hoodie pocket and hand them to her, “That’s baby A and then right there is baby B.”

“They’re already the cutest little things ever.” She laughs slightly, “I know this is scary now, but I’m so happy for you.”

You nod, “The longer it sits with me, the happier I’m becoming.”

You get a text from Jake saying he’s here and you sigh, “I’ll keep you posted. You can hang out here until I get back or whatever.”

She nods, “I have some stuff to do, but I’ll have my phone on me.”

You nod and walk out to Jake’s car, taking a deep breath before getting in, “Hi.” You look over at him and he furrows his brows, “I don’t- please don’t take this the wrong way, but you don’t look so good.”

“I know, I don’t feel it either.” You laugh slightly and he tilts his head, “Are you sick or, did you catch a bug? Why aren’t you in Paris?”

“One question at a time, Jake. But first, can we get food, I’m starving.” You buckle up and he nods, “You tell me where and I’ll take you there.”

You smile, “Thank you.”

After getting food, you drive to a spot and park, “So.” You start out, “I just want to start off by saying I am so sorry.”

Jake tilts his head, “For?”

“I’ve been home all week.”

He furrows his brows, “You’re apologizing to me because you wanted to spend a week along after working non stop for five or six or whatever weeks? That’s not something you need to apologize for, y/n.”

“No that-“ you sigh, “When I was in New York shooting that commercial, I found out something and I just-“ you take a deep breath, “I’m pregnant, Jake.”

He stares at you, slowly pointing to himself as his brows raise upward.

You nod, “Mhm.”

“From..” he draws an arch with his finger and you nod, “Mhm. Haven’t been with anyone else since.. you, but that’s not-“

“We’re having a baby?” He looks around, “We’re having a baby.” He looks at you, a smile growing on his face and you nod, “Yeah, but Jake, I-“

“No, y/n, we can do this. Okay?” He looks out the window, taking a deep breath, “I promise you. I’ll get my shit together and-“

“There’s two.”
