Still cannot believe the potential of this fanfiction gap. Especially as they are so at ease together and so happy about each other the next day, even at the match, with Roy's secret whispering to Jamie as he comes off and the way Keeley looks at that interaction. Jamie's a bit uncertain later in the treatment room, sure. He doesn't know where he stands yet, not properly. But *cups your face in my hands lovingly like Pep and Georgie* you understand what happened, right? You understand that they went out, had a responsible amount of cocktails given Jamie's match tomorrow, and ended up in Roy's hotel room together, right? You understand that AT LEAST some wordless, undefined kissing and cuddling occurred, and probably more? And that Keeley and Jamie never made it back to their rooms? The treatment room is a define-the-relationship second date. My God. My GOD.

God, between "Roy Kent always remains" from Step Dad Simon, and "go home *gesturing towards Keeley and Roy*" from his Mum, Jamie's family have been waiting a long time for Jamie to show up with Roy and Keeley in tow. I absolutely adore it.

I can’t stop thinking about this! How delighted they had to be to finally meet the people Jamie was talking about so much.

And, oh boy, the “go home” part. Like, that was so OT3 coded, I never would have imagined the show doing this.

And it made me think about what Jamie said at the hotel, that a suitcase is a drawer without a home and how he reacted to this realization, which felt to me like … Jamie didn’t feel at home anywhere? Which was why he went to his childhood home to seek out his mum for direction.

But his mum then recognized that he had a home and that this home was not a place but the two people he cares about most and the thing Georgie said about Jamie not being lost and just needing to find his way and her nudging him towards Keeley and Roy and AHHHH

Here are the facts:

Keeley is clearly not over Roy and her rebound relationship ended terribly

Roy has been pining for Keeley all season

Keeley getting less and less over Jamie as he becomes an accountable grown up

Jamie has been pining for Keeley since season 1

Roy and Jamie went from enemies to riding around Amsterdam looking for Windmills

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see a way out of this situation that isn’t all 3 of them getting together. The only other option was Jack and that’s dead in the water.

I mean, I don’t even ship them! But I cannot see another way to wrap their stories in the next 4 episodes. Can anyone? Have I missed the obvious alternative here?

okay but maybe it's just the aro/poly/anti-amatonormative bitch in me, but you actually can tell meaningful stories about characters experiencing jealousy without reducing them to a jealous!blorbo caricature.

this is coming from someone who has multiple fics on AO3 with the tag jealous!blorbo. I like reading about/watching characters work through feelings of jealousy. I like exploring how a character might "stake their claim" without being a total ass about it. How does a particular ship navigate ideas like exclusivity? Do they feel differently about sexual intimacy vs physical intimacy vs emotional intimacy? How do characters dissect which parts of their desire for monogamy stem from a genuine preference, and how much is due to feeling insecure in themselves as desirable partners?

these are all fascinating reasons to love jealous!blorbo in theory. That being said, if I see ONE MORE PERSON butcher someone's characterization because 'jealous!blorbo is so hot' or whatever bullshit I'm gonna lose it.
