I never really read Homestuck but pretty much all my friends were really into it and they wanted to pull together a few groups, so this was completely done for them. I didn't really make anything for this costume; was pretty much just given it, but I had a lot of fun with my friends.

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that this character, Feferi Peixes means a LOT to me. She was a character I latched onto when I was 11 years old, reading Homestuck for the very first time. She was my first cosplay, all the way back in February 2014 (ah, Quotev days), which introduced me to a community of Tumblr ask blog cosplayers- many of whom I still talk to and cheer on in their projects today! She’s why I go by Feffles online- borne from the experiences on a long dead roleplay website called Flarping.com that had just the kindest, most welcoming community. All that to say, to be able to actually cosplay Feferi Peixes in her unaltered state for the very first time, almost ten years after the first time I tried is a very very big moment for me.

Typically, I would post a Homestuck project or makeup look in honour of 4/13. I still did a makeup look (and you can find that on my TikTok: cinnominbubble), but with it being 15 years of Homestuck, 13 years of my own personal connection to the story, and 10 years since I first tried my hand at cosplaying this character for the very first time, it felt far more fitting to post my gill herself.

I cannot wait to be able to build onto this cosplay, making more iterations like her dream self, and Beforus iteration, and Godtier, and watch as my own cosplay growth comes in the next ten years.

Equius Strider-Zahhak

Equius wasn't originally meant to go Dirk. Considering his reputation of him and children. Dirk didn't exactly disagree and was more than willing to just be a collective uncle that visits sometimes. Unluckily for him, Equius almost immediately attached to Dirk. Whenever he was took to someone else's house to be raised, Equius started to chew up table and chair legs and causing general mayhem. So he was dropped over to Dirk's. Not under the control of a demonic puppet that was made by literally the most evil entity in the universe, Dirk is actually a pretty solid dad. Equius helps out with robot projects.

Nepeta "Grubpeta" Vantas

As y'all saw before Nepeta went under the care of Karkat. He had felt guilty about how he treated Nepeta in his past so in an odd sign of repentance he adopted Nepeta. Most people still refer to her as Grubpeta or other derivatives of that. She's only ever called Nepeta by Karkat. Karkat has 0 drip so she got that scarf from Kanaya who is basically another parent for her since Karkat is pretty inept at parenting.

Tavros Strider

When Vriska saw that a Tavros grub was up for grabs, she immediately dibbed on him. Obviously, everyone knew that was the worst idea possible but everyone who would of reasonably adopted him was already handling a child of their own (whether that child was one of the omega kids or the grubs). Dave basically threw his hands up and took one for the team. Promising to "swag this baby out". And he sure did that. Tavros Strider ending up as a lot more confident than his other self. Vriska is still not allowed near him.

Eridan "Caligula" Lalonde

Eridan was adopted by Calliope and Roxy due to Roxy wanting "tha wizard bby". Calliope attempted to paint herself to appear more lusii-like for Eridan. Roxy had to talk her out of it. The cardigan was made by Kanaya as a forgiveness gift. Which was a really serious/awkward confrontation with essentially an aunt and he 5 year old niece who was getting forgave for actions he didn't even get the chance to commit. The tail was by Calliope from scraps of her cosplay works. He was affectionately nicknamed Caligula by Calliope.

Feferi Crocker-English-Peixes

Was picked up by Jane to end the cycle of abuse started by the Condesce. She was adopted before Dirk became a part of the polyamourous clusterfuck that is Jane and Jake's marriage, the only real issue it brought up for anyone was that Feferi asked awkward questions with little to know hesitation. Made even funnier cause she adopted a very formal way of speaking. The tiaratop still works but has no ads/brainwashing mechanisms. Spoilt to hell and back by Jane and Jake but when has Feferi not been spoilt?

A """summary""" of Homestuck: Act 6 Part 1

by someone who's glad they've gone back to basics for a bit

Let's (for a brief, fleeting moment) start again nice and simple.

It is the 11th of November, 2011 and today a young girl named Jane Crocker is excited to play the alpha for a game that comes out today called SBURB. How fun!

Jane here is heiress to Betty Crocker's baked goods empire (as mentioned previously in Nannasprite's story), and there is also set to be a major rebranding initiative happening today as well. She likes baking, detective stories, as well as the occasional jape.

But look out! There's another guy! His name is Jake English, and he's quite fond of action-adventure flicks, guns, and blue alien chicks. Fucking freak he is.

Jake is currently helping/pestering Jade, his ectodaughter/dead grandma who is set to give it to John (Jake's relations with him is yet to be revealed), before realising that it'll need a bit of uranium to be finished. He only can get it through a boy called Dirk Strider, (unfortunately), and his Brobot which just so happens to be the only source of uranium on the island that Jake lives on.

Before he pesters Dirk, Jake gets a message from someone (presumably a troll) named UU. They essentially tell him "hey!!! go for it!! i believe in yoU!!! also this event is extremely important timeline-wise, so dont screw it Up!!!!"

Jake attempts to get to Dirk about uranium, only to get the equivalent of an AI-based answering machine, much to his dismay.

He then heads out of the island's forest (with the dread of the Brobot lingering) and into the open. He witnesses the beautiful fauna on display.

Too beautiful for comfort.

Jake attempts a getaway, before being swarmed by a large swarm of fairy bulls! Whatever shall he do now? But not to worry, because a certain BrotherRobot has come to rescue!

He then immediately gets his ass kicked royally, (complete with Tensei's amazing score) and blacks out. He has a dream about someone who kinda looks like Vriska???? But isn't really??? Maybe it's one of the prophecy people that Doc Scratch was talking about??? Or undead Vriska??? idk man.....

He tells Roxy Lalonde about this, who panics because everyone in the group is attracted to Jake in some way. He is a harem protag, apparently.

Anyway, while Jane has the most relatable moment in all of Homestuck by awkwardly confirming her and Jake's 'friendship', Brobot tears out its own heart, then blows itself up, giving Jake the uranium he needs. He also confesses to Jane that he and Dirk would be a good couple!!!!

The Alpha Gang have proved themselves to be superior to the Beta Gang by being gay.

Jake is last seen in this chapter heading down the frog temple, presumably to finally send that package.

Where was I? Oh yeah, Jane!

So CrockerCorp undergoes its big rebranding, changing its symbol to a fork instead of a spoon, which will have very big implications later on.

After UU pesters her about the nature of the game she will play, she continues to look out the window, to no game yet in her mailbox.

While pestering a ditzy girl named Roxy Lalonde, she just so happens to notice that her mailbox flappy thing is up, meaning the game is finally here! She dons a shitty disguise to confuse her dad (which is the same as John's dad), and, with the help of Dirk's robot bunny Lil Seb creating a massive hole in the wall, she lass scampers out of there.

She opens the mailbox, which then proceeds to fucking explode, knocking her out and sending her to Prospit, where Jack Noir ᶠᵘᶜᵏᶦⁿᵍ ᵏᶦˡˡˢ ʰᵉʳ ᵍᵒᵈᵈᵃᵐᵐᶦᵗ before she wakes up.

I think at this point I am completely past the point of no return and have no choice but to cosplay as Gamzee with nothing but grey Sharpie. Other than that, Homestuck continues to keep itself fresh and interesting through established lore (probably from a page you don't even remember because you were too distracted by Karkat yelling).

Even more excited to see where this goes!
