fits of boisterous laugh escape billy as lucy gray begins to squeal and threaten to kill him, calling out lord’s name. they gallop through the open plains, the ranch nearing, with the warm sun on his back and the wind rushing past, there’s a feeling of pure freedom seeping into his chest. “what? what are you sayin’, doll? can’t hear you!” he teases, without letting go of the reins, his strong arms squeezing her petite body to keep her from falling. the horse moves beneath them in a powerful rhythm, each stride a heartbeat of the land itself, his silver mane dancing in the air. “lucy gray baird, don’t you act like you don’t love this!” with her sitting in front of him, her voice mingling with the sound of sundance’s hooves pounding the ground, he can feel the warmth of her body pressed against his as they ride and every time he leans forward, his chest brushes against her back, sparking a certain kind of energy between them. the world around becomes a blur as they ride faster, the scent of wildflowers and dust filling the air. the sheer thrill of the ride, the closeness of her body, the beauty of the vast open land — it’s a moment where everything feels boundless, makes him think that maybe they could just race the wind forever, that maybe they could speed right past the ranch and leave it behind forever. but she wouldn’t want that, she’s made that clear… as they rush past shamus’ barn, the goat bleats loudly in disapproval, annoyed and startled. “alright, alright… calma, sundance, calma.” eventually, billy feels it’s time to slow things down. with a gentle tug on the reins and a shift in his weight, he leans slightly back and signals to the horse the need to ease up. the powerful gallop begins to taper off into a steady canter, gradually slowing to a controlled trot, then to a lazy walk. his left hand lets go of the reins and arm wraps loosely around lucy gray’s waist, catching his breath as the horse moves at a calmer pace. “did you have fun, darlin’?” he inquires smugly as they come to a stop in the middle of the yard, fully prepared for the smacking of his life, and still can’t stop laughing. 

a hard laugh sounds from lucy gray, head almost tilting back before she leans back up. imagining him as sugar bucket legally is too hilarious of a thought to her. “mhm, definitely darlin’.” playing along, voice amused. “all the covey when we get together, of course. me and maude ivory has spent a lot of time down there.” she answers, but other than that there’s no one else. “alright, even though i—” brown eyes widen into frightened doe eyes, hands clutching tighter and a gasp escapes, “billy!” lucy gray squeaks, “oh my, oh my lord,” grunting and heart rate picking up, frantically wanting to turn but realizing she’s stuck in place. muttering oh my lord a million more times, trying not to spook the horse with her fear but staring ahead as the house begins to quickly approach. “i’m gonna kill you! if anyone’s gonna have your head,” grunting each word, “it’s gonna be me! me, william H bonney!” the brunette rants and scolds, squeaking and taking in deep breaths as the wind smacks her in the face and everything passes by so quick. thinking she’s gonna fall off at any second. forcing herself to have to hold on and sit up straight, carrying herself with the horse TO prevent that.

Thank you anon, with this ask you have given me an excuse to rattle off about my thoughts on the other versions of the WavesTM

(I'll preface this with saying the ones I know best are of course TFP, I haven't watched the other shows but I've obsessively been hunting down their clips down just to see more of the Waves™ so um. Hsgdhfb)

P.S. This turned to me headcanonizing how it’d be like to self ship with them so… I mean if you’re interested in that,

I think G1 Soundwave is sooo cute, he's a silly guy and he can turn into a tiny cassette player that fits in your pocket!! (Mass shifting? Whats that??? Never hesrd of him) I imagine him as acting like a schoolboy with a crush with you… waving to you even during intense situations, giving you flowers, being a gentleman… when he sees you it's all bokeh lights and hearts.

Courtesy of llama, I like the thought of cyberverse Soundwave to be a big flirt. He has a nice, warm speaking voice… also I like how much of an intimidating vibe he brings? Like how he postures in front of Windblade in that one scene where she asks him to lower his music and he just makes it louder… his music cutting off when Starscream tries to take over as leader… (again Llama highlighted these to me jkddjf). And through clips (and spoilers jdkf), I know Soundwave does so much in cyberverse, augh (also cyberverse soundrod is such a cute ship)

I know the least about Earthspark, but I’m 👁️ 👁️ latching onto the fact at how betrayed and hurt he sounds when he’s fighting Megatron and the Autobots. The way he goes “Traitor!” when Megatron points his cannon at him… he’s the most loyal decepticon and his leader has turned his back to him, it’s ugehhghghg (Also he fought a WHOLE team of autobots + megatron and managed to be a huge problem for them to deal with? 😳 he STRONG) I like imagining him as a soldier who’s utterly lost in life after his leader left and he doesn’t know how to live with himself. And this is SUPER canon divergent but,,, I like the idea of him latching onto you because you showed him kindness while he’s lost and he takes you… and because of how small you are, he can ensure you’ll never abandon him. (I’m. A bit emotional thinking about headcanons about him ehuhuhhhh)

As for Shockwaves! I know less about them, but I. Am a big fan of TFA Shockwave. I joke with Llama that in TFP Soundwave is the eldritch cryptid, and in TFA that role is filled by Shockwave. I’m just,,,, ahhh,,,, 😍 about how he can disguise himself, AND HIS EYE IS ALWAYS VISIBLE??? THAT’S SO SPOOKY? And he’s one of the most loyal decepticons in it too(?) In terms of self shipping I like imagining him being insane about you and wanting to do highly unethical experiments to you because of how obsessed he is with you… and I love the thought of knowing him as Longarm, while he’s shaking and having to restrain himself from revealing himself there and then and nabbing you,,, heuguhghgh

I like cyberverse Shockwave, I wish he stayed with the same weight and intimidation he has in season 1 (again, only from clips I’ve seen). I don’t have a clear idea of him yet, just know that I like the way he carries himself and how his expression is always [angy]. Also like his spider canon mode.

I like the vibes of G1 and Earthspark Shockwave but I don’t know that much about them yet! G1 looks adorable (what experiments) and Earthspark has a villainous cadence that I really like,, not to mention how incredibly violent he is :) hehe

ON A SIDE NOTE…. I kinda… like their bayverse versions?? A little? 😭 I like that Soundwave growls you’re mine to a girl and kidnaps her and transforms like. That’s what I like to imagine with TFP Soundwave? Also he has the metal tentacles? And Shockwave looks scary and has big worm monster thing… they literally only have like. 5 mins of screentime each and I heard Shockwave was supposed to be a main antagonist in one of them— I’m not a big fan of bayformers but I like imagining a little bit of these concepts applied to the other versions of the Waves kfdjshfldg

Needless to say I want all of them to hold me in their fists, kdjlgjdgf

i saw a few things about petre/agere and i too love thinking of f/o as caregiver. i have a lot of them who do similar things to it or fill different roles, some more prominent than others, but they all take care of me brrrr. . im not sure how confident i am talking about it on my blog or if i want to make a side blog for the content because id love to talk about it with others but i get mixed vibes on the topic for a number of reasons and im terrified of losing people i talk to or who enjoy the other content on the blog jdkf

tonight truly is the luckiest pluto felt in a long time. " okay !! " despite his limited vocabulary, friend is a word he's never forgotten.

max has to fight back a sneer when the boy says he's not allowed inside. she's all too familiar with the feeling, an outcast in a myriad of ways in a myriad of places. and sure, the boy's strange to look at. probably not the cleanest since he has to resort to digging around in dumpsters for food and maybe clothes, too. of course the cruel world couldn't see that he was just trying to survive. "sure. and i'll take us somewhere cleaner to eat, too. c'mon." on instinct they keep to the edge of sidewalks in the shadow of closed businesses as they walk down the block. they leave the boy (they really should ask his name) out of view of the windows while they shop and emerge just a few minutes later with a box of three pizza slices, a bag of donuts, and a prepackaged blt. some vegetables, even wilted ones, would probably do him good. "there's an old park just another block this way. we'll eat there. no one will bother us."
