The image you see is my modernisation (2020) of Giorgio De Chirico's famous painting, "Piazza d'Italia (1951), which you see in the other picture.

The digital painting was supposed to be part of a children's ghost book (The Adventures of Aghostino), which was later not published.

In my Piazza d'Italia there are references to Jeff Koons, Pink Floyd, UFO and a manga child of mine.

In the small Paraguayan town of Picado Grueso, a man named Rodrigo found himself trapped in a web of darkness. He had just committed an unthinkable act, taking the life of his tyrannical boss. Overwhelmed by a cocktail of alcohol and cocaine, Rodrigo believed he could escape the consequences of his actions.

With his boss's lifeless body concealed in the trunk of his car, Rodrigo raced through the winding streets, desperation gripping his heart. But fate, it seemed, had other plans. As he attempted to leave the city, flashing lights and the piercing sound of sirens shattered the night's silence.

Rodrigo's heart pounded mercilessly in his chest as he was forced to stop. The police, guardians of justice, approached his vehicle, their eyes trained on him with suspicion. Sweat dripped down Rodrigo's forehead, betraying his anxious state.

"Identification, please," one of the officers demanded, his voice stern and unwavering. Rodrigo's trembling hand offered a counterfeit ID bearing the name of Jeff Koons. It was a desperate attempt to conceal his true identity.

The officers, well-versed in deceit, saw through the ruse with ease. Their scrutiny intensified as they searched the car. Their eyes widened in horror as they discovered the lifeless form concealed within the trunk.

Rodrigo was swiftly apprehended, his fate sealed. The court condemned him to the harshest of punishments—death. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, as Rodrigo languished in a prison cell, consumed by guilt and remorse. 

The day of reckoning arrived, the execution imminent. Bound and facing his ultimate fate, Rodrigo was offered a final chance to speak. The weight of his actions hung heavily upon him as he uttered his final words, his voice filled with regret and bitter irony.

"I should've pulled a McLovin," Rodrigo whispered, a somber smile playing upon his lips.

His words echoed through the room, their meaning a cryptic enigma. And as the life left Rodrigo's body, his secret, his true intentions, remained buried within the confines of his soul.

The story leaves behind a haunting question, unanswered and lost to the winds of time. Was Rodrigo's regret for the path he chose, or for the missed opportunity of a different outcome? Only the silent chambers of his heart knew the truth, forever locked away.
