God I agree but tragically the man's name is in fact Jeoff Blithe

And like.... why? He was based on Errol Flynn in the Sea Hawk, right? Ostensibly an adaptation of the book, though they changed the main character's name from Sir Oliver Tressilian to Geoffrey Thorpe & replaced the plot with Sir Francis Drake fanfiction.

I swear to god MOTUC chose these names at random. Jeoff? Jeoff?? look I can get on board with Blithe, it's funny since it's a play on carefree/careless, but Jeoff is a modern nickname for what amounts to 'god-peace'. If it were going to be a reference to the movie, why not use Geoffrey? it's not like they care about making these immediately pronounceable [gestures disgustedly at C'yra of D'riluth III]

Random Jeoff question that doesn’t really matter but has been on my mind anyway:

In “The End”, Scratch randomly calls Geoff ‘Geoffrey’, and Geoff doesn’t comment on it. Given how much emphasis Geoff puts on his name and spelling it correctly, I feel like he would have said something if his name was just ‘Geoff (with a G)’ not short for anything.

So… I guess this kinda hints at that indeed being his full name, even if it’s obviously not something he goes by all the time. And if that’s the case, does that mean Jeff is just going by a nickname too?

Like, is his full name something like ‘Jeffery’ or ‘Jefferson’, or is it just J-Jeff and nothing else?

Again, this doesn’t really matter at all, but at the same time - for as rare as fights/arguments probably are with the Jeoffs - it is just a bit funny to me to imagine them breaking out the “Geoffrey” and “Jefferson” full names during those times when they actually are feeling just a bit agitated or short with one another, lol

(or, alternatively, when they need to quickly grab each other’s attention for flirting purposes, haha)
