Have you gone a day without eating? Imagine not eating for a week. You will end up weak and ill. The same applies to our spiritual life; the Bible is food for our spiritual development. If we go too long without reading His word, we will feel spiritually weak and sick. Why do we need the word? Jesus defeated the devil using the word of God. It is the sword of the spirit with which we can defeat the enemy. In times of trouble the Word of God is our stay. It is food for our soul and brings joy and drives out doubt. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. It is life and health to our bones. Jeremiah15:16, “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight.”

God's hand is upon all who believe and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Then why do we feel so alone at times? Believers deliberately separate ourselves from the world so we will not be tempted adopt their ways.  

Don't team up with those who are unbelievers How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God's temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: "I Will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be My people. Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them," says the Lord. "Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be My sons and daughters," says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 NLT

Following Jesus can be lonely but this world is not our home. One day we will gather around the Heavenly throne singing the song angels long to sing. It is the song of the redeemed. The invitation is extended to all people everywhere. Every tribe, tongue, and nation will be represented but many will miss out because they chose the path to eternal separation from God.

Almighty God, Lord of the Harvest, send laborers to sow good seed and reapers to gather the harvest of souls. Here we are, Lord, send us. Let us feel Your hand upon us to bear much fruit for Your Kingdom Lord, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
