Late availability! Due to a very late cancellation one space has become available on my 3-day Casting course running this weekend from Sat 7 – Mon 9 September. To book please email me as soon as possible.

This course includes learning to carve different waxes to apply the lost-wax casting technique, casting metal into a cuttlefish and casting into sand. As all these processes make the workshop warm and dusty this course is exclusively for those interested in casting. The course fee is £360, payable on booking. All student abilities are welcome - whether jewellery casting is a new interest, you’re looking to learn a new technique or wanting to brush up on an old one!

Annual Open Studios with brunch and live music will be held  weekend 2-3 July at our West London Atelier W10 6RJ. Please watch out for future emails with more details as we still have to decide which day on the weekend this will take place, we are more inclined to Saturday 2nd of July from Midday. We are proud to be invited to exhibit at Goldsmith's North this year, this will be the first live show since the pandemic. Goldsmiths North will take place 8-10 July in Sheffield. We are having two private views for this event on the 7 & 8 July. Whilst in lockdown I’ve been busy making new jewellery including some new silver sample pieces for workshops once they’re up and running again. These are for the simple bangle and earrings workshop. The idea being you make a bangle from either round or square wire, add a simple charm and make earrings to match. You can experiment with shapes and textures first and practice lots with copper before deciding on your final design and then make in silver. Exciting news - these are the first photos of a new addition to the jewellery workshops, a dedicated enamelling and casting room!

Hand-built, as ever around here, by the inimitable Steve it has a sloping glass roof allowing natural light in all year round and views onto the garden and the South Downs beyond. It is a generous open space for jewellery course students keen to start their journey, or advance their knowledge, in the specialist techniques of enamelling and casting.

Yayyy finally managed to do the domed lid today for the trinket box. And I also finally managed the inner ring in the bottom. I finished off the day by cutting out a cute butterfly which will go on top of my box. 😍 . . All I need to do now is file those edges, attach butterfly, sand and polish the box. This was definitely a challenge this term. I'm hoping to finish this tomorrow 😁 . . Then I need to redo the orthographic design and fill in the commission forms for this term before sending everything off 🥰 . . I think most of us at the course had a difficult time this term overall. Silver and gold stacker rings finished for week 10 of term 2 of the @jewellersacademy diploma in silver jewellery course 🥰 . . The tube setting is not really up to standard and it gave me a lot of trouble to solder it to the ring shank but I somehow managed and after polishing they look so pretty 😍 . . Still got the trinket box to finish. Just waiting for TNT to decode to deliver my package at some point since it's already been in Malta since Wednesday!! This Brexit issue has caused too many problems with deliveries/shipping (not just covid)! 😤 . . Anyway, I really learned a lot this term and it's flown by so quickly!
