ok i finally got to watch the finale of the worst of evil and i'm feeling....... conflicted?? i loved how dramatic it was but,,,, it didn't satisfy me all the way??? maybe i just need to sleep so my brain will start working again lol but idk idk idk. anyway,, what did you think about it? i'm always very very much interested in your opinion about media! <3
how insane was that finale. like, i genuinely cannot believe i perceived all of that today, like... what do you mean. what do you mean there won't be a new episode next week??? no more unhinged shenanigans on my television??? unacceptable. can't even begin to comprehend that. this is excessively long, so under the cut.
now, for my opinion on it... in general, i am actually satisfied. from the beginning, a few things were obvious and they followed through. considering gicheol's role in the show, as a literal drug trafficker, i expected him to die, and i was not surprised when or that he died; the moment he uttered that he wanted a normal life and leave the union, the writing was more than just on the wall. i was more surprised by how they handled that, because in a way i could have expected it but on the other hand, all the events leading up to gicheol's death were, just. fucking insane. especially if you look at junmo's and gicheol's relationship, which at the end of the day was the focal point of the show, just as much as the character of junmo. the scene in the car at the harbor was so loaded and i feel like in a way it was obvious but it still caught me off guard. by the time gicheol sat in the car and the entirety of gangnam union was busted without him? because junmo gave him an out, forced him into an out by literally handcuffing him to his car. (the fact that gicheol offered to drive for once? oh, mhm.) gave him needlessly cruel words to make sure gicheol wouldn't even think of following him out, wouldn't even try, because he had to be betrayed by junmo, one way or another. and junmo bound half of it to gicheol's future. he gave him the way to the normal life gicheol wanted, but gicheol couldn't take that out. his fatal flaw was the fact that he loves too much, and he knows that, too. he tells euijeong and junmo that, when he goes to confront them. and, god. that scene? of gicheol at their table, holding the wedding portrait? of the two people he loves the most? his first love and the man he gave his life to? that gave his life for him? insane.
i gotta say, i have almost no complaints in regards to junmo/gicheol. this show is a noir thriller/crime drama, not a bl or anything akin to it, and i think all things considered we got so much more than i would have imagined possible. this show got away with almost as much as, like. the devil judge. it was actually quite obvious and brazen in many ways, and only flimsily held together by the "junmo is married to euijeong and gicheol loves euijeong" framing, which i think was intentional, at points. the director also mentioned that half of the drama was basically written by ji changwook, so. thanks, king.
gicheol always had to die, but the fact that junmo spared him the sin of killing himself? that is fucking insane, if you ask me. hand in unlovable hand, in-fucking-deed. jcw's reaction (and acting) during that phone call was stunning. i think, it took gicheol to die for junmo to realize that he also has someone in his heart that he needs to protect. hence: leaving his wedding ring at gicheol's grave (next to euijeong's necklace; also signaling the end of his marriage for good while giving gicheol something of the woman they both loved), keeping the watch and wearing it while he gets his promotion. he was wearing it after he left the union, the entire time. insane-making!
there is another, more obvious queer reading i could be doing here, how gicheol always had to die because he was the most gay coded character, yes, including all the catholic guilt, and how junmo entering the union and meeting gicheol sort of signaled a shift in his relationship and everything surrounding it, as well. and how leaving the wedding ring signifies the fact that junmo knows he has changed, and that he accepts that. people reminded him constantly that he is a cop and he shouldn't forget it; junmo is a cop who wears that uniform like a costume at the end. anyways, lots more but i don't have the time for that.
i'm somewhat ambivalent on how they treated euijeong in the finale, i loved her character throughout the show, but she got the short end of the stick (also, as expected unfortunately). she is the other side of the coin and would have never been able to accept junmo's descent into violence and evil (and she did not, after all that is what their huge fight is all about), and ultimately won't forgive him for killing gicheol. on the other hand, she would have never given gicheol the love he wanted, or reciprocated his love the way she should have (in his eyes). she always loved junmo, she just could never love the man he became. we (the audience) knew that in the same moment she did, during the altercation with the chinese in episode 8 and 9. besides dohyung, she was the one character to keep junmo steady, and i kind of hate how that is, for the most part, all that she was reduced too; i would have loved to see more of her work as an actual police officer, and not just as a chess piece in this investigation. after all, she is ranked higher than her husband and it was introduced as one of the first conflicts in this show, but was only fuel for junmo taking the job. sigh. anyways.
i loved bibi in the show, and loved most of what haeryeon went through, i mean, besides the almost out of character infatuation with junmo. but, some things are there to drive a plot and serve a narrative purpose, and that was one of those major things. happy she got out of it alive, that she killed that fucking cop that has pissed me off since his appearance, and her scene after killing hwang mingoo, with her bodyguard or right hand man or whatever, was very touching and well done. served as a very nice mirror to the gicheol/junmo relationship. in this world, trust is devotion is love.
it is safe to say that junmo loved gicheol, btw. lol. makes me feel insane to even think about, and i genuinely feel like killing gicheol was the only way to get away with it. having junmo kill gicheol as a last act of love, because in their world love is violence? man. the implications are crazy!
i have manifested that meeting of dohyung and jongryeol since, like, episode 3 because they are the only two characters that are equal to each other. slayer one and slayer two. dohyung's death made me cry, but made narratively sense, because it added to junmo's desolation at the end (how they lied to him, brother, i crieddddd), fueled his disillusion with the police force (he was NOT happy at that promotion celebration), and put chief seo behind bars. glad he survived, by the way. a king that remains an absolute king until the end.
that said, some things were not as well done as i wish they could have been. the fade-outs in the final episode were a cheap choice to make a lot of headway plotwise in very litte time, and i think it could have been done tighter, and more graceful. in some ways, it rang a little hollow; as did the whole jungbae thing, and the hwang mingoo side plot. like, i understand that, in a way, it was to show that the noose has tightened and i absolutely appreciate the fact that this was all just to isolate junmo and gicheol and get them to spend their last days together (narratively), but... still. i would have preferred a little more sophistication, if i'm being honest. this drama could have used a full sixteen episode treatment, even at the breakneck speed it went along. especially because of that, maybe. noir doesn't only live off action but also off the thrill and the suspension of the genre, and at the end it felt a little rushed and somewhat cheap. the scene that lead to gicheol's death made up for it, though, because that was super solid.
i can't believe junmo never said why he let gicheol go. god. because he loved him! if he loved him less maybe he could talk about it more! with junmo words do not equal actions. he uses his words as his last line of defense, as a sort of smoke and mirrors kinda thing, but his actions speak differently. the things he does—like letting gicheol go, or crashing a fucking car to save him from getting arrested, or killing a hundred men for gicheol and euijeong—weigh more than the things he says, or tells himself. love that, because he was introduced as being all brawns, and works as an antithesis to gicheol and euijeong that way!
mhmmm, anything else to say? man, i still feel crazy. there is actually so fucking much to say. i can't believe we got that last shot of them walking down the street in slow motion, smiling at each other, smoking—a sign of respect and reverence connected to the reoccurring motif of junmo and gicheol lighting each other's cigarettes, + gicheol only ever lighting junmo's cigarette—and i think it was only earned due to the whole grave scene. we had to see junmo give up his marriage or else it would have had not the same impact. it was obvious, in a way, that euijeong and junmo could have never stayed together but i am still surprised they went through with that, considering kdramas in general.
other than that... idk. maybe i have more to add. all in all, i am satisfied. not necessarily happy, but i like what this drama did and while i am not super satisfied with the pacing of the big beats in the last episode, i can overall appreciate. i love the relationships they crafted in this show, and i am actually for once satisfied with how they dealt with the focal relationship. felt very much like it was love. well done.

Can you spare me the time of your life to talk about our lord and saviour Ji ChangWook? ;
Literally the sweetest;
     Sexiest still;
          Little man;
I am cryi--- ;
You’d be so small in his arms;
And just the small in the relationship let’s keep this real like;
Would literally smother you in kisses okay;
And he’d be the gentlest man ever;
From slowly saying how much he loved you;
How much he wanted you;
     Needed you;
To slowly laying you down;
Kissing you everywhere;
Grazing his teeth along your exposed shoulder as he took off your clothes;
And he’d be totally into praising;
     Just saying;
          Not degrading- not in a billion years;
His pace would be slow and steady, too;
He wouldn’t want to rush that night;
He would want to savour it;
Explore your body as much as he could without exhausting you too much;
Crave every crevice of your naked body into his mind;
     Memory;
He’d totally be the moaning type tho;
But not the loud moans;
It would be pretty similar to small little grunts;
But as he’d lean into you;
Near cumming inside of you;
Right by your ear;
You’d heard his breath stutter;
A moan escaping;
And that would be the hottest sound on earth you’d ever hear;
So you’d clench around him;
Just to hear him make that sound again;
Besides that he would always be careful with using protection;
Not until you’d actually agree to move on from that stage and onto something more serious anyway;
And the morning after;
Oh god the morning after;
I am shooketh;
And so are you;
Your family;
Friends;
World;
The sweet little bean would just cuddle into you like a child;
The passionate man from the night before gone and in his stead there was that baby;
It’d be a nice morning though;
With you two just cuddling.

Let me preface this with voice actors aren't paid enough, and accessibility is important to me, especially in and with popular media.
Idk if anyone has mentioned this, and at this point i'm a little too afraid to ask, but it has come to my attention that squid game is dubbed . . .
And it has just never occurred to me that you could dub a drama? Like some poor schmuck (and trust me, i've listened to this part and only this part, the guy did not know who he was dubbing at all) had to do voice over work of Gong Yoo.
I cannot imagine. Let alone the rest of the cast (who are all now big names, and some of whom were well known enough before), but Gong Yoo, whose only there for a bit part . . .
If you want more examples, I'm going to make a complete list based on the US Kdrama catalog on Netflix under the cut. Along with my first reactions of course!
A Korean Odyssey: Not in English, but Cha Seung Won in Spanish is pretty spectacular A Love So Beautiful: I guess I just find Spanish more charming. Or I can't tell how badly it fits because I don't it as well. Arthdal Chronicles: Song Joong Ki will be a theme here today. He sounds fine in Thai. Kim Jo Won sounds a little strange. Crash Landing Into You: The Hindi cast seems to be having fun! There are other options to watch as well. D.P.: First of all, please watch D.P in its full. Also, Netflix why? Why this drama? The translations are a little poor in my opinion. I was goign to say the voice actign is decent, but by the next scene, I changed my mind again. Extracurricular: If I don't look at the screen, the English acting hurts a little bit less. Hello Me!: Welcome back to Spanish. And this time I know more actors, and my brain is more confused. Hospital Playlist: And now it's hurting again . . . A lot of the voices don't fit for me It's Okay to not be Okay: So, these ones fit a bit better for me. But they still obviously don't fit the mouths. And at least they got someone with a deep voice for a deep voiced actor. And they aced some of the casting of the women. Itaewon Class: And we're back to a struggle, this time in Japanese! Kingdom: I'm not sure how I feel about the accents. Oh wait, I know how I feel: bad . . . pretty fucking bad. Also, there is no real English equivalent for the language difference that you have here between ancient and modern Korean Kingdom: Ashin of the North: the first was in English, this is too. And we are still doing the accents. Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce): And we are back to Spanish, and confusion Love Alarm: Dubbed over giggles hurt me just a little bit. So does romance just on the whole. Lovestruck in the City: Ha Jiwon and Kim Minseok and Ji Changwook are all . . . a lot. I will defend So Joo-yeon's dubber, just because she sounds adorable. Mad For Each Other: Yeah, idk at this point. They are all blending together, and the Thai (no English again) is sort of just flowing through me without making any impact. Man to Man: Good luck casting decent voices for any of these guys. Good fucking luck (Spanish here btw) Mine: it all just passes like a spring shower across my brain (this time in portugese) Move to Heaven: this just reminds me that I want to see this show. And also they decided to go hella young with the voice of Tang Joon Sang Mr. Sunshine: I wonder if Spanish can handle the period language any better than English? My First First Love: Boy we can't find anyone to handle the deep voices of some of these Korean actors huh? My Holo Love: I cannot handle Chansung in English here . . . or, surprisingly Choi Yeo Jin. My Only Love Song: Some more period Spanish for you, if that is a thing that you apparently need in your life. My Runway: This show is way too unknown to have a dub? Why does it have a Spanish dub? Navillera: I wouldn't expect Spanish and ballet to go together, but okay. Also watching someone get murdered at billiards is always great. Nevertheless: All the Spanish and Portuguese has no effect on me any more at this point. Record of Youth: For the first time, there are two Chinese options. Can I tell that there is a difference? Yes. Can I tell you what it is? Absolutely not. Run On: More options of romance in Spanish and Portuguese. I'm sure there is a joke here to be made about translators. Sisyphus: Here's that good confusing shit again! Park Shin Hye is acting her heart out, and the voice actress . . . is not totally failing, so that's a nice new change. Though I could see it getting worse. So Not Worth It: This is some meta shit. Native English speakers, speaking Korean, dubbed over in English. Also . . . Youngjae. That's all I will say. Start-up: We are back to Mandarin, but still feeling those same feelings. Stranger: Just Spanish, so lucky Spanish speakers I guess. Sweet Home: Horror is always best in it's original language. Fight me on it honestly. The King: Eternal Monarch: My dreams of Lee Minho in English are dashed, but at least there is Hindi! School
Nurse Files: This show is weird enough in Korean. I don't need to hear them say it in English too. Vagabond: If you didn't like Lee Seunggi in Spanish, then why not Portuguese, Thai, or Mandarin? Vincenzo: IN THE FIRST EPISODE SONG JOONG KI SPEAKS SPANISH AND THEY LEAVE THAT IN BUT DUB OVER ALL HIS KOREAN IN ENGLISH. WTF!!!!!!!
What a way to end y'all: confused and battered. I did this so you don't have to!

Dreamcatcher reacting to their girlfriend as a badass character
Request: Yep
Anon: DC’s reaction to their actress gf playing a badass character in a drama kinda like Ji Changwook’s roles in The K2 and Healer?
Author’s note: I don’t know the drama so I only looked up some scenes so I can get a grasp of the role you were hoping for so I hope you like it
Tumblr media
Jiu:
Minji would be both ecstatic and worried when you told her that you would be starring as a lead in a new drama. Ecstatic, because this was a bit new, considering you were playing a badass character instead of being the usual shy and timid role you had in your previous dramas. But she was also worried because of the scenes that you had to do to make the story come to life.
She would often come with you for your practice sessions and she tried to encourage you, knowing that worrying wouldn’t help either of you. She would be so proud to see you working extremely hard for something you loved doing, just like her.
By the time she watched your scenes, she would be so happy with the results and smother you with affection.
“You’re doing so great!”
Tumblr media
Sua:
Queen Bora would be very pleased to see her girlfriend kicking ass on screen. Whenever she saw you acting like a total badass, she would crack up because she knows just how gentle you were whenever you were with her. But to see you act so cool and suave on screen made her mind wander when she was watching.
She would always poke some fun at you when she sees a scene she absolutely finds intriguing and will keep clowning you about it. She’ll say that it isn’t really you doing the stunts just because she wants you to show her. So when you do execute one of the less dangerous stunts, Bora would smirk before walking up to you.
Tumblr media
Siyeon:
This girl will be absolutely excited to see you acting like a badass for the drama. She promised that she would watch every episode you were in, which meant she would watch the entire thing, when she found out you would be the leading role. Being able to see her girlfriend so cool made her grin whenever she watched with her members and she won’t stop boasting about it.
She would constantly ask you how you film the action scenes with her eyes twinkling im awe and you could feel your heart melt at the sight of her.
“You look so cool! You could be an Avenger or something!”
Tumblr media
Handong:
Handong pretends that she isn’t interested in your drama just to mess with you. She often jokes around, but does assure you that she likes it and that you’re doing an amazing job. But with her perfect blank expression, you sometimes aren’t sure if she means it or she’s messing with you.
In one particular scene where your rival shoots you in the leg, however, your girlfriend quickly loses her cool and bolts upright with a gasp. “Excuse me but who is he?” She demanded angrily while you try to assure her that it was just part of the scene.
“I don’t care. No one hurts my baby and gets away with it. I’m glad you kicked his butt.”
Tumblr media
Yoohyeon:
Similar to when you come and support her for her comebacks and performances, Yoohyeon comes to join you when filming, especially with scenes that you think you won’t be able to do well. She insists to come along so that she’ll be there to remind you that you are more than capable of doing the drama because you were the person they casted as the lead.
She gets an up close and personal show when you’re being surrounded by the people who are after you. Even though she knows that it’s all acting, she can’t help the way her eyes widen and the gasps that leave her mouth when you took down every single person there without getting hit by any of them. She’ll wait until you’re given a break before gushing about how cool you looked.
“I told you, you don’t have to worry about anything! It looked so real!”
Tumblr media
Dami:
“What is he doing?” Your girlfriend would not stop questioning the logic in the drama. She would always point out that there were things that weren’t even necessary and you had to remind her that it wasn’t real and whine at her to focus. Of course, you knew that she did this to make fun of you. But all in all, Yubin would be very proud when she sees you appearing on screen and so connected with your character.
She can see that you’ve worked hard and she’ll often remind you that she’s amazed by how well you play your character. So when your rival ends up hurting you, she can’t help but feel a bit thrown off because she ends up thinking that he was actually trying to hurt you because of the way you acted.
“Are you okay? Should I come with you to the next filming?”

Gahyeon:
Baby girl would be so immersed in the drama that she’ll end up making the cutest reactions. Whenever you were involved in a fight scene, she would be squealing so much, yelling at you to be careful and then even smacking you when you did something stupid.
It was just so cute. And when there was a scene where your character was struggling after an ambush, you had to hold her just to stop her from crying. She would ask you if you were ever hurt with making those scenes and would not stop clinging to you.
“So if something happens, you’ll be there to protect me, right?”

BIOGRAPHY
001.
they don’t have a glorious romance story, nor a star-crossed lovers storyline. byungchul and jaeun meet through friends, and decide they get along well. it doesn’t happen in the way that a love arrow pierces through their hearts, blood hot in their veins — it’s simple, two people getting along, a detective and a teacher, one of high rank and one favourite of small children, they find company in each other, and don’t need much else.
the decision to make a family for themselves begin quickly after their relationship, both of considerable age, they don’t want to wait any longer, their elderly pressing in on all sides, wanting a grandchild before they see their last days. and so, the choi family has kihwan a year after the couple’s marriage, both elated to have a little son to raise.
as he grows up, things begin to get more complicated, byungchul has one too many assignments working in the force, the more power means more responsibilities, a bigger toll on his shoulders. times are long and hard, and as a captain of a precinct, he needs to be sharp, on his toes. let alone the bitter taste of bureaucracy in his tongue, he has to keep the community safe, and that is too much to bear in itself.
he works hard, and she works hard at the kindergarten too; at first it isn’t too much of a problem after maternity leave, and a couple of years later, jaeun can simply take him to work with her. it’s as he grows old, their presence in his life starts to fade, his father working overtime too often while his mother needs all of her attention on work, preparing tasks and making sure to help children as much as she can. their age doesn’t help much either, and kihwan’s simply there, eager for a glance or a pat on the back.
in a city as gorgeous as his, it isn’t a bad childhood by any means, but as a child, he still yearns for family breakfasts, pulling his parents from their arms so they can all visit the fair, go to a park, anything. usually met with a shake of a head and a murmur of “not now, we’re busy.” there’s little kihwan can do, and it begins with making small troubles at school, wherever he is, just to get that bit of extra attention, so that his parents will get called into school. he doesn’t like the reprimands one bit, but he can’t find himself stopping either, walking on the edge of childhood misbehavior and actual trouble. it’s a thin line, but he manages to walk on it, and he learns once he’s known as the troublemaker, small success stories get a lot more recognition than they used to.
002.
it’s when he’s in seventh grade the couple begin to have little fights, both tense for reasons kihwan has no idea about, things that have nothing to do with his falling grades. he tries asking them, eavesdropping on their conversations; the hushed whispers they exchange, his father hunched over a table with his face in his hands. they seem… worried, and the fights aren’t even because of each other, but something else kihwan can’t put his finger on. it angers him, the little time they used to have all together seems to be tainted for no reason, both of the adults far off in their minds.
it’s a night like any other when kihwan throws another of his fits, leaving school and not heading home, immature anger of a toddler in his veins as he walks through the streets aimlessly, wanting to do anything but go home. he wanders, kicking rocks and walking to the beach, sand soft under his shoes as he walks, so much that after a point they are filled with it. the panic comes afterwards, when the soft rays of sun begin to leave the earth, painting the sky a hue of orange. he frowns, having spent enough time with himself to realize he may have been overreacting — maybe he just lost hours from his time with his family, even though it wouldn’t be as joyful as he would have liked. it takes a few more hours, kihwan so utterly lost before he finds his way to a familiar street and to home, shame burning his cheeks red. he knocks on the door, expecting reprimands and punishment. it’s not what greets, it’s his mom instead, tear tracks on her face as she pulls him into an embrace, cradling him as if he was a baby again.
“i was scared, so scared —” it’s a night he doesn’t forget, his dad rushing home half an hour after to embrace him too. it’s the attention he has wanted for so long, but it doesn’t make sense, not until he learns about his father’s case, the thing that has been upsetting his parents for so long. at that moment, kihwan is clueless, and basks in his parents’ attention, crying and apologizing himself, little clue as to what’s going on.
003.
thinking back now, he feels guiltier than ever, almost four months after his little runaway adventure, he goes back home again, and an empty flat greets him. hours pass with him alone, in front of the phone waiting for mom or dad —- but neither comes. it’s late in the night when his aunt unlocks the door with teary eyes, kihwan looking up to her for an explanation, anything. she’s tongue tied, but in the end, he learns his mother has passed away.
they say that their neighborhood was a spot for vampires to hunt, and jaeun stepped up to save one of her pupils and got mortally wounded. kihwan cries and throws more fits, unable to accept the truth, not wanting to accept the truth. his father is a mess too, the dark circles under his eyes look purple, his face set but ready to crumble at the same time. it’s guilt that weighs the man down, and no matter what kihwan does, he can’t get anything out of him, nothing but a pat on the back alongside an apology. an apology kihwan doesn’t understand.
004.
life turns bleaker after that, his father takes even more jobs than possible, and kihwan is under his aunt’s care until he’s in high school, old enough to take care of himself at home. his attention seeking acts diminish to nothing, the troublemaker child quiets down, closes up just like his father did, an invisible wall between them as if they are not the person they used to be anymore. the place they called home feels anything but, and for their own reasons, both of them feel guilty, and they can’t shake it off no matter what they try.
it’s during this time that he looks for ways to distance himself, find his own self in a world that seems to be against him. he picks up hobbies and drops them, friends coming and leaving, no one staying for long. it’s during a private piano lesson that he meets ahreum, and she turns his life around. he falls in love with her, wants to spend every moment of his life with the woman. there is enlistment on the horizon, but she agrees to wait for him, and as soon as the time comes, he goes to to fulfil his enlistment duties, not wanting to be anywhere near the house again. his father seems content with kihwan’s decision — if the smallest of reactions is a clue enough — and he doesn’t need much else before packing and leaving, intending to leave a lot of the past behind. there is only ahreum for him in his future, and he looks forward to finishing his mandatory training.
if anything else, the military service hardens him even more, an inexperienced sullen boy turning into a man with sharp edges. he likes the structure of the military, but the rigorous training takes its toll, making him want to work harder so that he’ll take less shit if he trips during one of the drills. he works out and makes connections, here and there, walking around town during their free time, not even thinking about going back to actual home.
when the enlistment is over, ahreum and kihwan make their relationship official. however, a few obstacles are thrown their way. the major obstacle is kihwan learning that ahreum is not a regular human, but a vampire instead, the very same species he used to despise. it’s hard to get used to that fact, but love triumphs over. kihwan is unable to accept that ahreum can be the mean spirited creature he used to believe all vampire were. he accepts her, and she accepts him.
005.
they start a life together, perfect little house, ambrose as their child. it isn’t conventional by any means, how ambrose is much older than kihwan, but it doesn’t matter, he loves his family so much, he would do anything to make sure they were happy, safe. and that’s what brings the first downfall- a blood-thirsty and panicked ambrose comes to him for help, and kihwan knows he won’t be able to deny him this. he lets him feed off of him- the bloodthirst winning over rationality, and if it weren’t for the right interruption at the right time, he knows he would have died.
ambrose’s sent away to wonderland- as a punishment or as a lesson kihwan, a bit of both. kihwan doesn’t know which will happen, but all he knows is that it breaks his heart to be away from his son, and he knows ahreum feels the same way to. a while later, they can’t keep away from him anymore, and decide to move to wonderland as well, to make their family whole again. kihwan continues to work as a police officer, ready to keep his family safe and happy.
SUMMARY
— his mom a teacher, his father was a police officer. a troublemaker, he acted out as a kid to get their attention, which didn’t work so well. one night he ran away, worried the hell out of his parents, more so than usual.
— it turned out a serial killer is on the loose, but kihwan learned it much later, when his mother was murdered by a vampire trying to protect one of her pupils. his father grew distant, which made him feel even lonelier after such loss.
— he distanced himself too, trained to become a police officer, wanting to protect other families. meanwhile, he fell in love with ahreum, it was a while later he learned she was a vampire, and she brought down all his misconceptions, turned him from the bitter man he was to someone much happier.
— he sees ambrose as a son, and is very protective over him. after an instance when rosie went overboard, he was sent away, but now, the parents are back to see him, and to stay for good. they missed him a lot. kihwan is ready to protecc w all he has !!

Would you choose to be alive or die?
Other Chapters
You walked away with Chang Wook still staring behind you. It did not take long for you to reach the place JungKook sent the location. A black big motorcycle next to him JungKook’s muscular body was up against the grey stone wall. Hands in pocket and a cigarette between his lips he was shining in the dark with his black hair.
When his big eyes landed on you he pulled off the cigarette of his lips. A small smile spreading on them he threw the smoke to the ground then put it off with a simple step.
“Sorry I wanted to finish it before you arrive.”
You shook your head casually.
“No I am fine with it.”
JungKook gave you a big grin.
“But you don’t smoke, do you?”
You simply answered no. JungKook looked away as he murmured.
“Good girl huh? Pity.”
You could not make sense of what he meant to say but it felt like he was bolder than he was at the coffee shop. He just offered you his hand and you shyly took it. He looked down to where your fingers were connected and you sweetly smiled at him. JungKook was hard to figure out and that mystery always got into your system. You just followed him without any question because you knew one thing… He was not a bad guy.
On the motorcycle, behind him your heart was pounding like crazy. He offered you the second helmet. Putting it on you tightly hugged him before he hit the gas even more. Though the road you followed became quieter and more desolated. He stopped while you were in the middle of nowhere with tall greenish trees on the both side of the road. His took his helmet off so did you.
“Why did you stop here?”
You asked innocently. Saying nothing, JungKook got off the motorcycle. His eyes were dark and voice was dangerously lower.
“How about a game” he said “You hide and I seek…”
Confused you arched an eyebrow at him.
“What?”
JungKook let out a creepy kind of chuckle.
“I am being nice because you are a good girl so go and hide…”
When you realized what was happening your mind became a mess. A part screamed for you to run and try to get away from him. The very same part helped you to activate the device Chang Wook gave you. JungKook took a step back with a cheeky smirk on his lips.
“Fifteen seconds then I will seek… You better hide well.”
Though the second part was braver and made the choice to stay. You stood there and watched JungKook in all his glory as he counted down from fifteen. He was beautiful… With his well shaped eyebrows and long lashes. His thin lips were moving slowly as he spoke. His wide shoulders and strong arms were such a great contrast to his tiny waist.
When he opened his eyes again he was surprised to find you right in front of him. He tilted his head to side as he asked seriously.
“Why are you still here?”
You looked down for a good moment than a small smile played on your lips.
“Whats the point of game if I know I will lose…”
JungKook arched an eyebrow at you as he took two steps closer. His hand reached for your hair as he gently brushed it off of your shoulder. He came even closer then whispered to your ear.
“Interesting…Shouldn’t you be crying and running away from me?”
You heavily gulped but voice was calmer than you expected. It did not even quaver.
“Does it matter? Won’t you catch me in the end. I just want this to be easy”
He took a step back and studied your face carefully. It was obvious he was interested in whatever was going through your mind.JungKook bit down his lip and if he were not trying to kill you, you could be thinking how sexy he actually was. He grabbed you by your arm and started to drag you behind him.
“Where are you taking me?”
You asked but he did not care to answer instead he made you walk in front of him. Above the small hill you just passed a really small wood house was seen. You realized he was taking you there but you did not know why. Maybe it was foolish of you not trying to run away but you went with him. JungKook stopped by the door and had a poker face.
“Go inside.”
Since you had no other option you obeyed to him. The dim yellow light was the only thing that let you see around. He grabbed a match and light it up. Soon after the crackling sound of the fireplace filled the air.
“Is this your home? Why did you bring me here?”
You simply asked while sitting down in front of the fire. Those questions were completely ridiculous just as for you to try to chat with him but his current reactions were giving you a courage they should not. He thought for a minute.
“You got my attention… You did not run away from me.”
You refused to look him in the eyes.
“You think I am not scared?”
JungKook shook his head.
“I know you are but still… You are brave enough to take the risk.”
Becoming even smaller than you already were, you whispered.
“Does this mean you will still play the game with me?”
JungKook did not answer your question as he left the small living room. When he came back he had his own cardigan in his hands. He gently left it on your shoulders.
“Was this always the reason?”
A light chuckle left JungKook’s thin lips.
“Does it matter?”
When you licked your lips then nodded he looked down then his eyes captivated yours. You could not look away this time because his big pitch black eyes were so deep that you could drown in them. He whispered your name after that you felt an incredible pain in your palm. You did not notice he had razor blade in his hand.
You did not take your eyes away from him. You only closed your fingers without any single sound. Looking at the blood dripping from the single cut inside your palm his cold expression changed. He disappeared again. When you saw cotton for dressing you were surprised. He gently cleaned the blood and wrapped the cut with light touches.
“Since you already know I have to kill you…”
JungKook murmured more to himself than to you. Then his eyes found yours again.
“But I don’t want to hurt you… Would you stay here.”
Wondering how he could change so suddenly you thought for a moment. There was someone else in front of you rather than the cold blooded murderer. More fragile and saying what he desired. Not knowing why and with what kind of courage you hugged him.
The fact that he care for you caused you to feel different. This man who killed others within a heartbeat was feeling sad because he hurt you. He was still for a moment with wide eyes. Hesitatently he wrapped his arms around you. Head was resting on his chest you listened to his heartbeat got slower.
By the fireplace, you sat down with JungKook behind and his arms wrapped around you. Did not realize how long it was but you were about to fall asleep. JungKook carried you up. You did not open your eyes to see what would he do. He put you down to bed slowly and pulled the sheets over. When you saw he turned around to leave you held his hand.
“Stay with me…”
JungKook looked at you in the eyes as he arched an eyebrow.
“Do you want to sleep together?”
You shrugged with a simple yes. He laid down next to you and pulled the sheets again. He held your hand on his so it would not get any worse. Sleeping next to a murderer must have been the most normal action of yours ! Though it was not uncomfortable at all. He was warm and sleep was about to win over. However JungKook pulled his arm away then straightened his tense body up.
“Wake up” he said “Get up…”
You rubbed your eyes harshly then asked.
“What’s going on?”
JungKook’s eyes were dark as he was dead serious.
“You cannot stay here with me.”
You contumaciously looked into his eyes when you asked why. He got up real fast grabbing you along. He yanked your hand and pulled off the plaster. He held it in front of your eyes.
“I am the reason of this, do you know?”
You just pulled your hand away while closing your fingers because of the pain. JungKook went on.
“I can hurt you… I can do worst things…”
You placed your hand on his cheek.
“I think you are scared because you want to be nice to me.”
With the truth thrown at his face JungKook stopped. His voice was lower than it usually was.
“For the first time I felt something when someone got hurt.”
You arched an eyebrow at him.
“Is that bad?”
You crossed your arms. JungKook took your arm and twisted it. You were facing the wall with his chest against your back.
“Yes it is… Since you will leave…”
You tried to move as much as you could almost squaled.
“Thats why I slept between your arms, isn’t it?”
Though JungKook grabbed a pair of scissors from the drawer next to him. He opened them and pointed the sharp edge towards your artery.
“A little cut would be enough for you to die”
He whispered with a dangerous voice. You moved your shoulders again.
“If you wanted me dead you would have done it instead of telling me.”
You fought back. JungKook finally gave in then turned you towards himself. When you two faced each other you looked at him right in the eyes. His face was close you until an inch left.
“How close can you be?”
He shamelessly asked. He looked at you up to down as he bit down his lips. The scissors in his hand was at the hem of your top now. You gently pulled it away.
“No need for that.”
After a smirk you pulled the black top off of yourself and threw it to the ground beside his feet.

“I love this interview, it show how much she grow as a person and as an actress.  Yoonaya....I never once doubt your ability as an actress  since I first saw you in You Are My Destiny. Your improvement make me and other Yoonaddicts so proud, and you always be our Pride”
[INTERVIEW TRANSLATION] Yoona in 1st Look (December 2016),credit sonexstella
“A Better Me”
She is not staying still in the shining now, and taking big smart steps forward. A girl who was like a white flower blossom is becoming an elegant young woman who is fit various descriptions. Actress Im Yoona’s shine that deepens another level.
Even if she’s not the ‘center’ of a brilliantly shining stage, even if she’s not receiving flashes in a glamorous dress, Yoona is a person that stands out whenever, wherever. Her slender and long body, milky skin, a deer-like deep and transparent eyes that center her narrow face, and her refreshing smile. Aside from one’s likes and dislikes, she has pretty looks acknowledged by anyone and with a unique mood, when she first appeared before the world, she had the role of a ‘girl who is particularly pretty among pretty kids’.
However, Yoona has been able to show that beauty unchangingly by not staying as just a slender girl, but by working hard with a healthy energy and with a warm heart. Even though she is an idol that can capture the public’s gaze in one breath, she didn’t rest on the laurels of that name, and Yoona has sincerely and smartly taken steps forward. Recently, the tvN drama <The K2> which ended popularly was an even more meaningful piece for Yoona and had special meaning in her walk of life.  As she lived as ‘Go Anna’, a girl with dark wounds and a complicated inner side, which is opposite of her given image, she cried and was hurt countless times, but she overcame it with her own firm ways, and in the end, she brought a splendid conclusion to fruition.
In this moment where she has silently walked over a huge mountain that appeared treacherous, Yoona does not get prematurely excited or ahead of herself, and carefully takes in the compliments she receives. She smiles silently saying that this is only the beginning of the process to become actress Im Yoona who has become a bit better, and has grown a little more. When we thought this appearance was a bit unexpected, Yoona said, “It’s time for me to experience even more changes. I have so many more faces that I still want to show.”
<The K2> ended while it was popular. You must have some thoughts now that it has ended. Has it been almost 3 years? It’s a piece that I’m showing for the first time in a while, so while we were filming, it was fun and my heart was anticipating it a lot. It was fun to experience the lively energy of the location, and it was refreshing to wait for the viewers’ reactions with a fluttering heart. More than thoughts of it being difficult, I liked that I was able to participate in an amazing piece, and that I could attempt a lot of things within that. There were incredible actors that I could learn especially a lot from, as well as passionate staff, so I was able to enjoy it twice as much.
In previous works, you mostly showed us bright and confident sides, so when we first heard the casting news, we were surprised. We’re curious how you came to decide on a drastic attempt. It wasn’t on purpose, but while I was waiting for a piece that captured my heart, the gap ended up being long. I wanted to meet a character that I could play really well. While I was on a break, I was one step away, so I was able to seriously think about acting. If I do a piece, what kind of side I could show, how viewers would take the character I’m acting, what direction I should take going forward, and so on. While I was hesitating about whether I should show more of what I’ve been showing or if I should attempt something new even if it’s unfamiliar, I received the script for <The K2>. Most of the scripts that come to me are candy characters similar to <You Are My Destiny> but Anna was completely different. As soon as I read it, I had the conviction of ‘I don’t want to miss this. I have to do this one’. I thought the clothes wouldn’t fit exactly, but that unfamiliarity pulled me in strongly. Along with an understanding of ‘Why did I not think of a direction like this?’ even though I was very concerned about it. It was a character who threw a lot of emotion in the way of Actress Im Yoona, who is coming out in front of everyone for the first time in a while.
Anna, who experiences a lot of bends and pain in life, is not an easy character to express. Especially in the beginning, we see her unsociable side, and as the story unfolds, she comes and goes to the extreme ends of emotions. There must have been a lot of difficult aspects. There were many scenes where emotions had to be brought out and expressed. Normally, I rarely ever yell but I needed to scream and I shed a lot of tears too. In the 1st episode, which was filmed in Barcelona, Spain, I had to run around barefoot covered in blood. She lived secluded from society and oppressed, like a shadow, and as she meets ‘Jeha (Ji Changwook’s role)’, she opens her heart and depends on him, and showing this process in a convincing way was not easy. When I look back, the boundaries of emotional change should have appeared a bit more delicate, so I think in many ways, it was a bit lacking. I do have some regrets, but to me, it was a very good experience. I learned a lot. If I had to take on Anna alone, it would have been incredibly difficult, but the sunbae actors I worked with had very solid skills and energy, so I was able to pull out more than what I possess alone. I’m very thankful and happy.
What is the most memorable scene, or a moment that you remember from filming? Every scene was special, so it’s not easy to narrow it down to one. Of course, the scenes filmed in Spain’s exotic environment were memorable, as were working with (Song) Yoona sunbaenim, who had an antagonistic relationship to me. Since before I joined the project, the fact that I could act with Yoona sunbaenim alone made me nervous. More than anything, the scene where Anna meets her dad (Jo Sungha’s role), who she has wanted to meet, touched me the most. All of the complicated emotions that Anna has built up over time in her heart surged up my whole body, so for a take that went on for more than 15 minutes, I cried. I cried to the point that my eyes swelled up so much that staff worried whether I’d be able to film the day after. Personally, it was a special moment where I was able to show and also fill up to my heart’s content.
There were a lot of people who said ‘We saw actress Yoona’s potential’. You must be proud to receive such good praise about your acting. I’m thankful that people are seeing me positively. Every person has a different standard but honestly for me, rather than thinking I did well, I think more about the many aspects where I’m still lacking. Even if I have to go through more severe hardships, I promised myself to improve. Because I want to become a good actress. Through <The K2> I think I mostly got rid of my fear toward new attempts. It’s not confidence, but should I say that I have developed faith in myself to continue to show a new face within projects going forward. Before, I was very aware of and concerned with people’s assessments. Because of that, the breadth of my movement became narrow. Now, rather than being shaken by others’ gaze, I want to center myself and walk the path I want to walk, find the path I need to walk. I want to put down my burdens and anxiety. If I build my efforts continuously like that, I’m sure I will become a good actress.
Through Anna, it feels like you’ve stepped deeper into the path as an actress. My will toward acting has been elevated, and my curiosities have increased too. I’ve started to ask myself questions like what kind of acting is more natural and will evoke an even deeper emotion, how diverse of a role will I be able to pull off, and what kind of a person is a good actor. Going forward, steadily and diligently, I am going to find those answers. Truthfully, my personality is not one that sets a distant goal and dreams big. I tend to place importance on things right in front of me, and putting my best into achieving that. When I’m doing SNSD activities, I pour all of my energy into the stage, and when I act, I try hard to pull out as much as possible in front of the camera. If sincere steps are piled up over time, even if progress is slow, I believe that I will be better bit by bit. I must be becoming a bit broader, and a bit deeper. I hope I will be able to meet myself who is definitely a bit better than I was yesterday.
I heard you already confirmed the next project? I was surprised once again hearing that it’s a historical drama. We’ll be able to meet pretty Yoona wearing hanbok. It’s a historical melodrama called <The King Loves>, broadcasting early next year. As the daughter of the wealthiest man in Goryeo, it will be a romance with Im Siwan oppa. I’ve done a historical drama in China, but it’s my first one domestically, so I’m curious and I’m really anticipating it. With this piece too, I wanted to show a new face again. Through <The K2> I’ve overcome my fear and worries toward new attempts, so I want to attempt a transformation even more proactively. Regardless, I want to continue to have diverse experiences. Whether it does well or not, whether I receive good feedback or not, I don’t want to become caught up in that and courageously get into a new role. Also early next year, I will be able to meet everyone through the big screen. My first movie <Confidential Assignment> will open. I don’t have a big role, but it’s meaningful because it’s my first.
You’re hardworking. As an actress, I wonder if this is an era where you take leaps with each step. Now that we look back, it has been 10 years since your debut. Before we looked at sunbaenims who got to their ‘10th year’ and thought it’s cool and amazing but now that I encounter the number ‘10’, it’s hard to believe. It doesn’t seem like that much time has passed, but it feels awkward. But when I look back, I worked hard and I was happy because I received a lot of love. As a person who is in their ‘10th year’, I still have many areas where I’m inadequate, but I think I have become very natural among people and in society. It must be because I was beside good people, and fans, who warmly look at me without change. I’m very thankful for that.
Since we saw your potential as a good actress, we’ll expect a lot more from Yoona from now on. We are cheering on the start of your new plan. When I look back in the last 10 years, I was participated in five projects. I think there will be a lot of people who think that it’s a slower progression than they thought. Truthfully, I was scared of shattering or breaking so I held back a lot, but now I want to take bigger strides. I still get nervous and shaky when I go on set, but it’s still fun and enjoyable. One thing I wish for is to be able to always show a new face to the public. I want to be a person who generates curiosity and anticipation of, ‘What side of Yoona will she show next?’. Even after a long time, becoming an ‘actress people are curious about’ is a current dream of mine as an actress.

an unexpected guest. | peach & stone
@cnxchangwook
ah, the buddy system. of course.
it is only natural that no one was to be left alone, for a depraved crime had just been committed in this very household, and among all those fingers pointed were their twelve owners, all of which were deemed equally suspect.
it was always much harder to prove innocence than guilt, wouldn’t you agree?
even then, there was something terribly sinister about the context of the arrangement. it was, to some degree, what you would call a randomized controlled trial - mixing and matching innocents with the guilty in hopes of finding a particular reaction (namely, another murder) that reveals their presence. in other words, it was a strategy to determine who the killer was, was it not?
nevertheless, he is not particularly surprised at the declaration; more so the assignments.
ji changwook. a charity organizer.
there was something about running a business that was akin to making it a rumor mill, and no matter how vehemently he would deny participating in any form of gossip, for gossip was always an antecedent to drama - the petty, relationship-ruining little thing it was - what has been heard cannot be unheard.
he did not sound like a bad man, yet those who did not sound like bad men were rarely good men; in fact, yang had sounded like a good man, but here he was, a cold corpse lying in a cold mansion teeming with people who had enough reason to do more than just hurt him.
and who knew about the rumors that had reached the man that were about taekwoon himself?
(not that he cared for them - or ever would - of course.)
there is a guarded way to his actions, and as he opens the bedroom door, maybe expecting to be held at gunpoint just a little, he is instead met with a calm man on the other side of the room and a -
what the hell?
there is a small ball of fur making the smallest indent on the sheets of what he would assume was his bed. its tail is tucked in neatly, and its back rises and falls at a leisurely pace, as if taking a comfortable nap.
the unfazed expression on the other male’s face is enough to get him to briefly wonder if he might actually have to compete with the creature for a mattress that was probably meant for him in the first place, and he lets out a quiet huff, perplexed. he wasn’t disgusted, per say; it was actually quite cute and rather cleanly looking, but it was literally right in the middle of the entire bed, and looked as if it could drown within the layers of blankets it laid on top of.
so he raises his voice just the slightest (his indoor voice, he found, was more of a library voice than anything else), and speaks with caution as to not wake the small animal up.
“um.” once he catches the man’s attention, he gestures at it, as if trying to make a point.
is it yours?

Opinion Profile: JI CHANGWOOK
/ Park SeoJoon // Ji ChangWook /
/ SHINEE // HIGHLIGHT /
Tumblr media
I think he’s an actual definition of boyfriend material;
If you seen any roles with him, they’re usually pretty `tough macho guy`- you know like K2, and Fabricated City;
HOWEVER BITCH YOU THOUGHT;
Ji ChangWook is actually so much soft;
Like, yes, he has his serious side, but that is reserved for work;
With his family, friends, loved ones- he’s an absolutely adorbs baby;
He is super caring and protective, as well;
So much so that he might come off as naive to a perspective of a bystander;
He will never be in any second thoughts if you ever needed any financial help, or whatever fucking help you needed;
He would stick with you through thick and thin;
Also, children is his weakness;
Like he sees a child being all cutesy and he might even squeal, but usually he would squeal internally;
     Like, I kid you not;
I bet he would also be the best father one could ever ask for, too;
     Maybe even whipped for his child, but pfffttt;
          I never said that, right?;
Super romantic? Um, yes bitch;
Dates would be planned out meticulously neat;
Everything should go by his plan or else he might get a heart attack;
     However, he’s that meticulous over the first couple of dates alone;
When he gets a grasp on someone’s personality, he will let himself relax as well;
Honestly, he would be the most caring friend, boyfriend, husband ever;
He would also be able to understand you quite a bit;
     It might be due to him being an actor with a good amount of experience, though;
There probably isn’t a type of a people that ChangWook doesn’t like in particular;
He’s neutral to the so-called `snakes`, able to tolerate if needed but won’t say anything negative to those kinds of people, either;
And in general, he wouldn’t get that easily riled up at people;
He’s pretty apathetic in that department, I’d like to believe;
     He’d certainly be able to keep his cool in hard situations;
Always level-headed, as well, though one could not tell that from observing his aloof personality;
So in other words, ChangWook was, is a walking mystery;
The more time passes of you knowing him;
The more you find out about him.

Him as a Boyfriend: JI CHANGWOOK
/ Park SeoJoon // Ji ChangWook // Kang HaNeul // Lee SooHyuk // Seo KangJoon // Kim YoungKwang /
/ BLOCK B // EXO // HIGHLIGHT // SOLOISTS /
Tumblr media
A goof ball;
Tough on the screen only;
You will have to be his `mother`;
But honestly he’s so sweet everything else doesn’t even matter;
Also;
He’d probably teach you some acting techniques;
But in exchange if you don’t use them against him;
He’ll soon realize he made a mistake;
But will stubbornly continue teaching you because he trusted you to not use any tricks on him;
So this smoothed us into another point;
He’d be hella stubborn;
So if your opinions wouldn’t match it would be very hard to catch an ultimatum;
This would then cause quite severe fights;
Which would usually in you two giving each other a cold shoulder and not talking for a couple of days;
First time it happened your friends got pretty concerned because you’re like, inseparable and then suddenly boom you’re not talking;
They came to learn that that’s just how you two do things;
Since you make up quite soon anyway and continue on as if nothing happened;
Besides, those fights had good consequences as well;
After going with your days giving a cold shoulder to each other, it allows you two to relax and let off some steam that accumulated in the relationship;
And then when you make up the sex is great;
     But that’s beside the point *cough*cough*;
Also prolly the kind to get jealous- not easily jealous or anything, he’d just be jealous;
Like, sometimes even for no reason or to tease you;
“Hey, that man on set today was looking weird at you”;
“Um, so what? Jealous?”;
“Yeah. Since it wasn’t just today. But let him do whatever for as long as you don’t do it back.”;
Those kinds of sentences would usually fluster you because his words would come out randomly;
Like, you two would be watching TV, completely engrossed into some show, and then he’d speak and you’d be like wat???;
Oh, yeah, also- Ji ChangWook is all about that family life;
Like, him and children is just wow;
He sees a child and a mother and his eyes just do the thing;
     You know??? That thing???;
          Light up like Christmas trees and he’s just like;
“I want that to be us one day.”;
“What, me alone with a child?”;
“A family.”.
