This individual juniper is found at Jiaming Lake National Trail in Taiwan, coming in at just around 1,000 years. It's one of the most famous trees in Taiwan. Juniperus morrisonicola is sometimes treated as a variety of Juniperus squamata, but DNA profiling suggests that it's its own species. Juniper all over the world found in such extreme alpine tundra habitats exhibit this stunting and bending due to cold temperatures and exposure to wind.

Viikon päästä MasaTours lähtee Taiwaniin. Ensimmäinen viikko vietetään Taipeissa Ailan, Leon ja Hannan kanssa. Majoitumme jo monesti hyväksi koettuu V-one Vogue hotelliin ja suunnitelmissa on: shoppailua (toivottavasti Uniqlosta saa vielä Marimekko-vaatteita), kylpemistä, pyöräilyä, ihania aterioita, ehkä vähän kävelyä, torneissa pistäytymistä jne. Tänään saimme kutsun Vickyn siskon luo illalliselle.

Viikon jälkeen tulee Sinikka ja heti seuraavana aamuna lähdemme kohti Tarokon kansallispuistoa. Meillä on sieltä majoitus vain yhdeksi yöksi. Ehdimme ainakin tehdä huikean vaelluksen kansallispuistossa, lupa on saatu ja se on 23.12.

Tarokosta sitten Yuliin ja Wisdom Gardeniin. Jouluaattoa vietämme Taitongissa Bunun Villagessa, jonne ystäväperheemme vie meidät. Pari päivää myöhemmin on buukattu 2 yön vaellus vuoristoon. Sitten siihen jää vielä Uuden Vuoden vaihtuminen ja sitten takaisin kohti Taipeita vielä muutamaksi päiväksi

2A Continental Architectural Awards 2020 – Paying Accolades to Innovative Architecture

The 2A Continental Architectural Awards was established to honour and celebrate the achievements in architecture and Urban Design. Founded by Ahmad Zohadi and organised by 2A magazine and 2A Academy of Innovative Ideas in Architecture, the 2ACAA 2020 endorses the appreciation of architecture, far and wide, all over the world.

Despite the young age of the Award, we have rapidly established ourselves as one of the most significant award programs through our creative, innovative, and pioneering list of winners and distinguished panel of judges. The 2ACAA has been a significant organization dedicated to identifying and acknowledging innovative and future-sensitive designs globally.

Despite a year of pandemic Covid-19 we strived and managed the awards successfully. This year, our ambition, yet again, to recognize and reward the impressive architectural works conducted by the world’s most innovative, creative, ingenious, and devoted designers and architects. 2A received 131 projects from different continents for various categories under the theme Innovative Contextual Architecture in the Continents.

2A’s distinguished panel of judges have ensured through an automated online system that the most dedicated, imaginative, creative, and splendid architects and designers qualifies for the awards. The independent jury of experts of 2ACAA 2020 comprises esteemed members who are recognized and expert mavens in their fields of architecture, design, business, art, and culture.

The jury member team included of Dr. Behram Shirdel, Donald Bates, Silja Tillner, Antoine Guiraud and Asako Yamamoto. The winners of the 2ACAA 2020 are innovative answers to contemporary architectural and design needs.

The 2A Continental Architectural Awards (2ACAA) has been primarily structured and designed to acknowledge and recognize the noteworthy contributions of individuals and organizations in the field of Architecture worldwide. Organised by 2A magazine under the guidance of Mr. Ahmad Zohadi as director of the Awards.

These prestigious series of awards are an excellent and inimitable opportunity for professionals of the architect world across the globe to enhance their knowledge and vision in the field of architectural and indulge in intriguing exchange and discussion of ideas inspired by a plethora of cultures, traditions, themes, inventions, and experiences. It is the perfect platform to explore and discuss new trends, techniques, and technological advancements in the architecture world.

Given the Covid-19 situation worldwide, the Organising Committee have decided to take 2ACAA from the ground to the cloud. 2ACAA 2020 shall be once again conducted on a grand scale but virtually. It has been designed to be one of a kind virtual event in the history of Architecture. 2ACAA has always been about research and innovation.

This innovative step of making 2ACAA a successful virtual ceremony is an attempt to respond responsibly to the global impact of Covid-19. It is a progressive step towards developing and implementing the right technological capabilities to maintain high-quality connections between professionals of the architecture world while keeping them safe.

The theme of 2ACAA 2020 is “Innovative Architecture in the Continents.”  You can submit your entries for 2ACAA 2020 between 25th July 2020 and 25th September 2020. Architecture professionals and organizations across the globe can submit their completed buildings and future projects across multiple categories.  The online judgment shall be undertaken between 10th October 2020 and 25th October. The winners shall be announced on 10th November 2020. 2ACAA 2020 is a one-stage entry/ two-stage judging award. The first stage shortlisting will be done by Jury board and declared as Candidate’s Project.

In the second stage Jury will decide final winners for each category.
