The last 3 days, Karina thought she could manage without an assistant. It was probably the worst decision she made in a long long time and she struggled with work all day. From nearly missing meetings to losing track of which clients she had to deal with. It was one big mess and it looked like it was going to end up costing her.

It started simply as just one of those extremely rare days where all of the boys go to your cafe together in that corner, which you hadn't rearranged since their first visit. It’s close to closing; you don’t mind, they’re a welcome presence, calm and… familiar.

They’re on their first round of drinks when they smell your scent sweeten just a tad and hear you playing around with Yuqi, pushing and whisper shouting at her whilst you both giggle. Yuqi’s showing you something, something that makes them all sort of tune in to the interaction, trying to catch a glimpse of the phone, and maybe they don’t quite know what to say at the sight of a shirtless Choi San picture that has you trying to cover the phone, a little flustered.

You’ve never mentioned listening to much Kpop actually, despite hearing it here and there in the cafe every once in a while; it isn’t the most common genre on your playlist, and you’ve actually never mentioned anything about their music at all, not that it bothers them, of course; it’s quite refreshing. You don't treat them like celebrities, but now, for some reason, they are all very envious of Choi San for having you practically giggling and twirling your hair.

Jimin takes the chance to jump on the topic the instant you come over to refill the teas on the table, catching you off guard as you pour.

“Do you listen to a lot of Kpop Y/n?” - Leaning forward on his hand with an innocent smile, nothing letting on that this has anything to do with your reaction to that photo.

“Occasionally” - Is all you say, a small nod thinking he’s just curious.

“I don’t have one” - You laugh out and now they all give you pointed looks, leaning in until it feels like your actually under interrogation. someone mutters, ‘come on if you had to pick?’ and you grow nervous under their gazes

Although the rest don’t realise it at first, something prideful and determined sparks in Jungkook’s eyes, and he can’t help thinking, well ‘i also have abs and big biceps; she’s just never seen them’ and he’s so grateful for the impending summer heat for a moment, the perfect excuse. Perfect excuse to pull off his hoodie and reveal his white shirt that used to fit looser but now reveals his biceps, clings to his chest, dances over his abs more than it used to before the military, and even then- he was built. It’s a simple calvin klein t-shirt, the sleeves made to roll up and further reveal his muscle, especially now that the cuffs of the sleeves cling to him, but oh- it fits.

He's so calculated it's funny, waiting until you come back over once they ordered refills, and he acts like he's just stretching naturally, raising his hands to roughly play with his hair, groaning a little as if he really needed this stretch, knowing it's making his biceps pull obscenely at the shirt, flexing, going even tighter around his chest, and making him seem even broader and his waist even smaller. Also, he can feel the slight warmth of the air hit just above his Calvin Klein waistband, where just a sliver of his abs is revealed, and he doesn't even need to look at your face to just feel you falter and stare for a moment, hiding his smirk behind his bicep where he leans back.

That is the moment the rest of the men realise what Jungkook is doing. Hes showing off. Hes being jealous and prideful, that alpha like pride making him like a peacock. He’s practically screaming ‘look at me! look at me!’ without a single word at all and oh, its working.

You’re so glad you finish up placing everything down before looking up because then your met with… a view. Jungkook manspreading and all of his definition on show- oh lord you absolutely struggle and your jaw almost drops right then and there, eyes widening and gaze lingering for just a second too long, swallowing harshly and ready to get out of there before they smell your fluster.

The six stare at him, gape at him in absolute disbelief and he just sits their smug and happy, mission successful he thinks.

“Did you just-” - Yoongi starts off in disbelief, really not believing what he’s just witnessed because sure Jungkook does not like his ego getting hurt; hes as competitive as it comes but not once did he imagine he would show off like that- knowingly-

“You child!-” - Jimin bursts out, laughing right at him and slapping Jungkooks chest from across his chair, it doesnt do anything to hurt Jungkooks pride, quite happy with himself, a smile now on his rather rather than a smirk.

“I dont know what your talking about” - Jungkook falsifies his own disbelief, looking away like nothing and sighing, seemingly getting comfortable in his chair, just shrugs even if his cheeks are heating up rapidly at being caught. He can’t even belief he just did that himself. Even more so when Seokjin pipes up with a laugh.

“Might as well just ask her to oil you up” - Now Jungkooks kind of embarrassed, slumping down the chair as if he can melt into it, hes eyes squeezed shut with the intensity of his smile. Never in their lives did the other boys think they’d witness Jungkook actually peacocking for a serious intention behind it-

“Come on then Kook, show us your abs come on” - Hoseok laughs out, wiggling his eyebrows and gesturing to his shirt, not even trying to hide it from your possibly listening ears and Jungkook just gets more embarrassed, sinking further and further into the seat, red all the way up to his ears.

Despite all their teasing, slapping at him all over, throwing teasing comments at him until he is positively ashamed (but also kind of not) of himself, over the next 10 minutes multiple more of the group are taking off their jackets and hoodies ‘bit hot today’ ‘yeah’ kind of excuses as if they aren’t all definitely taking Jungkook’s idea because your reaction was too good not to.

The next time you go back over to them, you regret it. I mean, that image of Jungkook was enough for your heart to rapidly pound against your chest and cheeks to fluster as your omega does laps around your mind but now you think you just might faint.

You forget why you even came over at the sight of 4 of them now Jacketless, obviously its not as if they are shirtless but you sure as hell havent seen this before on them-

Most of them are quite literally just wearing basic t-shirts but my word the way they cling- Yoongi’s white shirt is loose but for some reason shows all the definition and broadness of his chest and biceps, the same for Namjoon, his shirt a light shade of gray-blue, obviously we have already covered Jungkook, Jin wears a black t-shirt more fitted than the others but still loose, lean but broad and clearly strong arms, devastating small waist where his shirt tucks in to his loose trousers and his shoulders are too broad for anyone to remain sane.

It’s not even just what they are wearing, Yoongi and Namjoon are leaning forward, arms braced on their spread knees and it only does more to accentuate them, Jin’s leaning back, legs spread, unapologetically relaxed, arms across the armchair with his head tilted slightly back- looking like a king.

You shouldn’t be flustered- really shouldn’t because they are simply relaxing- arent they- doesnt help when Taehyung pushes the cuffs of his hoodie up to his elbows and your stare gets caught on his hands and forearms and in turn then looks at all of their hands and really you are dug so deep in your fluster that you kind of just gawk-

“Have you ever listened to any of our songs?” - It almost feels like a trick question with the small smirk on his face, you dont know whether its from the way you were just blatantly affected by literally nothing or if its from waiting for your answer-

“I have- they’re amazing, truly” - You clear your throat to answer, its a compliment they actually get on the daily but for some reason, catches them off guard and all of their subtle and not so subtle peacocking pride disintegrates. They rub at their necks, stumbling over eachother to mumble out a response, a bit flustered, awkwardly laughing and now its actually even because you might have been absolutely gobsmacked at them when you came over but now they are all nervous for some reason and it eases your own mind, less tense where you stand even if your scent is still positively sweet and a tad syruppy with your fluster.

Much to their pride and dignity, you don’t catch on to how purposeful the entire display was and how it was a result of some unjustified jealousy- i mean, they are definitely proud of your reaction to them but they’ll pretend they arent-

Hey, how have you been? I wanted to ask you something if it’s not too much trouble.

I don’t know if you’ve had the chance to rewatch Hobi’s birthday Wlive with the official Weverse subtitles, but I have a question.

I know that pronouns in Korean can be a bit tricky, and because of that, Weverse/Hybe often translates things in a way that makes sense in another language, even if it’s not a word-for-word translation. But when Jimin, Jungkook, and Hobi were talking, Jimin said—according to Weverse subtitles—that since he doesn’t know how much he can/should share with us, he’s been staying away from ARMY on purpose.

My question is, was he talking about just himself or about him and Jungkook? Because I saw several translations on Twitter saying that Jimin actually said that since he and Jungkook don’t know how much they can share, they’ve been keeping their distance from the fandom. If it’s not too much trouble, could you explain the difference or share your opinion on it? Thanks in advance!

Hey!! This is a good question, and honestly a hard one to answer because it could be either way. Nothing in Jimin's speech indicates he's talking exclusively about himself, but he's not including the both of them explicitly in the sentence either. It's up to the listener to assume.

In my opinion, however, I think he may mean both of them. A couple of sentences before, he clearly says "there are seriously a lot of stories/anecdotes the two of us made" and the both of them go on to say they don't know how much they can share, and if they do, army may run away. I think what Jimin says about keeping their distance is a sentiment both of them share (my translation of what he says would be 'even though we're being careful and not seeking out armys so much, we really, really miss you.' It's a bit less harsh than 'keeping distant' imo).

Either way, one of the loveliest parts about Korean is that there's not a clear-cut distinction between the individual and the collective. What I feel, my brothers and sisters also feel. I could go into boring details about linguistics and the way languages shape society, but there's a reason why the use of 'we' and 'us' are so broadly and ambiguously used in korean, or why friends are referred by the same word as you'd refer to your actual brother or sister (I mean words like hyung, noona, etc.) This is surface level, or perhaps simply more obvious, but this sense of collectivism (what's yours is mine, what mine is yours) sneaks into every aspect of the way koreans speak.

That is to say, the line between 'me' and 'we' is far more blurred than it'd be in a language like English or Spanish. In Spanish you may ommit a pronoun, but the verb form gives all the information away ("estoy": 1st person, singular; "estamos": 1st person, plural). More so, I personally feel like Jimin would've specified in some way that he meant he's the one pulling away, instead of speaking for the two of them, if JK hadn't agreed with the decision. That, or JK would've bickered with him, scolding him for not greeting armys so often (tell me you can't picture this exact conversation!)

So it doesn't really matter that Jimin meant himself or the two of them, because honestly, can you really separate the two of them? The same people that give up on eating carbs if the other is on a diet even when they're on vacation, the same people that share an infinite number of inside jokes only the two of them understand, the same people that willingly enlisted together... everything about Kookmin, from their actions to their language choices, tell me that they exist in a tandem. 'You are me, I am you.'

I’ve just been listening to a podcast about the fabric of reality, and came on here for a bit of downtime. And lo and behold, you’re talking about reality and time passing, and that’s exactly it.

No matter what we think, no matter what we say, or theorise or claim, we don’t alter the truth, and that stands for everything that doesn’t pertain to us.l and our own lives.

I can think the earth is flat till the cows come home (I don’t, obviously) but that doesn’t alter reality. 

Same goes for Jimin and JKs relationship. I’ve seen people claim wild theories, bending and stretching to reach conclusions far outweighing a k drama or blockbuster movie, whereas I personally, think mundanely and simply, that they are together. 

Whose right? We don’t know. 

That’s the truth. We don’t know. 

We may never know, we may find out one day?. 

I’m saying this with a smile on my face because that’s the beauty of life right, as long as we are not harming others, or coming into others spaces and shouting. As long as we aren’t being disrespectful to others, and to Jikooks bond. 

I will say this though, an actual truth people seem to forget or quickly dismiss across the fandom as a whole, is that those men chose to enlist together and whatever we may think of their relationship that is what happened and we should do well to remember that.

I absolutely agree, what we know - or think we know - has no impact on what truly is.

Even when we believe we know all there is to know, new discoveries and new understanding mean - hopefully - we're constantly learning and reassessing.

When it comes to Jikook, Occam's razor is my go-to: the simplest explanation is, in fact, usually the best. We don't need convoluted plots and schemes and conspiracy theories. There's enough information staring us in the face.

Sometimes we need to untangle that information - I'm not saying we should accept everything on face value - and we do have to look out for new information so we can adjust our understanding.

But that is the case with everything on earth. There is no static knowledge.

These things add layers of richness and complexity but they don't change the basic premise of our underatanding.

That understanding, for me, is that these two humans love each other.

As you say, there ARE things we definitely know, like their companion enlistment.

We know JK watched and hyped all Jimin's footage when he was promoting FACE.

There's so much we have no idea about.

I'm sorry but I can't take this seriously. How does someone who has no success whatsoever in the US (or anywhere else for that matter) gets an US award? It doesn't even make sense that he got a nomination in the first place considering the AMAs themselves said they choose the nominees based on chart performance, mainly in the Billboard charts.

Jimin had one of the best years anyone in k-pop has ever had in the US in 2024. He has a solo Hot 100 number #1. Has the longest charting k-pop song in the Hot 100. He is the longest charting k-pop soloist in the Artist 100 chart and the only one to ever top it. He has the longest charting album by a k-pop soloist in the Billboard 200. He was the best selling k-pop soloist in the US in 2024. He is the only k-pop soloist with 2 songs having sold 2 million units in the US and only one of three k-pop acts to have a song that sold 4 million (BTS and Psy being the other two). In the US Spotify charts he holds the record for most streamed k-pop song and album and is the most streamed soloist (and soon to be most streamed k-pop act overall surpassing BTS). All this and there's still a bunch more I'm not mentioning.

And RM has what exactly? His highest placement in the Hot100 is #36 and that's with Megan's song he's only a feature in because none of the songs from the album he released the same year even entered the chart (mind you Megan has 3 number #1s and 40 entries so you know who's carrying who). Same thing with Spotify US, he only got an entry with Megan's song but none for his own songs including the one he recently released that only lasted one day on Global Spotify. But he deserves this US award because...?

Because armys were sorry they don't give a shit about his music and that he has no accomplishments while Jimin has countless. So they decided to give RM a pity award and guilt-tripped everyone into voting for him like it's an obligation while harassing anyone that wanted to vote for Jimin because apparently that's anti behavior.

i get you, anon. it hurts especially because it's still so fresh. i tried to keep my expectation low, but when you invested a lot, it's going to sting no matter what. what hurts even more is how armys are celebrating the 'win' as if we didn't witness what had happened or as if we didn't know how jimin deserves that win the most; as if jimin was an enemy that deserves to be eliminated and disposed. it sucks. this is the lowest of the low that you can expect from them.

from the start of the nomination, RM's nom has always been mysterious (i think i got an ask abt it but idk where it went) because afaik his album (except that collab with megan) didn't do much in US aside from those reviews and awards (w/c are more on the filmography rather than the music). we can't exactly pinpoint where his nomination came from. i'm not opposed to the idea that it was bought, bc again, it seems like it sprouted out of thin air, but we don't have the enough data for now; so i guess only time can tell.

RM and armys can convince themselves that he deserves it and that he earned it all they want. but they cannot convince us and other people who really saw jimin's impact and doubts AMAs credibility; especially since compared to jimin, he's had far less support, numbers, and popularity. it's a pity award; no sugar-coating could change that. the meaning and worth of that award is RM's burden to carry and prove, and judging by how he is celebrating his 'win', he's loving every moment of it. let's see how far he can go.

Jikook Week 37 Complete (20/08 - 27/08/2024)

The album itself was released on 24/08 along with the lead single Idol. It was a 3J subunit for the Idol photoshoot and they all look absolutely stunning. Jimin in particular was killing it on this shoot.

On 25/08 the band began their Love Yourself World Tour with two nights in Seoul before jetting off to the North America, Europe and ending with dates in Asia.
