Every time Jitao's work appears in my feed i am reminded colour can be alot more expressive than I tend to make it in my own work. Jitao has a clearly great understanding of colour and how to use it appropriately and creatively to construct interesting, unique, and inspiring art. One of my favourite parts of his work is his backgrounds. Because of how amazing the subject is drawn its easy to look iver the background however his layering if colours adds so much interest to his work.

I love using oil pastels, and I find it very beneficial to expose myself to different processes and styles of art using oil pastels. My use of oil pastels has definitely changed slightly and my skills have improved from doing this. and while my use of colour is generally on the more realistic side, artists like this remind me that colour has so many more used than that.

The transportation in the epidemic

Part1-Introduction：

The epidemic of COVID-19 has largely changed peoples lives, especially the consuming behaviors. Due to the quarantine policy, people spend more time staying home instead of going out so the way they choose to consume, entertain, even drink or eat changed dramatically. We can see that the E-commerce platform has largely impacted the traditional entity industry. Meanwhile, we can see the devices that can be used at home are being demanded increasingly and they take the place of traditional facilities. The most obvious part is that domestic transportation and international transportation have largely decreased because of the epidemic. The epidemic changed the economic society on a great scale. Our view is based on that and we will illustrate it in specific examples.

1.The domestic transportation in the U.S.

Related sources analyzed that the decision to resume flight operations in the United States may be related to the U.S. economy. The U.S. economy has been hit by the epidemic and has gradually declined. U.S. stocks have fallen sharply and are about to face an economic crisis. Among them, the U.S. aviation industry has almost ceased operations, and has not gained any gains for several months, and even lost a large amount of funds. The inspection of aircraft requires timely payment of aviation staff salaries, which puts huge financial pressure on airlines. Air travel influenced a lot because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of the widespread virus, many airlines began to cut flights to different countries. Many airlines are suspending routes. There are many airlines that have already collapsed due to the pandemic. Although there is a stimulus bill to aid airlines, it still can not stop many airlines already collapsed. One example is the American Airline (AA). Even Though American Airline CEO has rejected bankruptcy in 2020. We still see that due to COVID-19, it exacerbated financials. All US airlines started to cut cash by using fleet retirement. AA and Delta both choose to retire older fleets. Due to reduced capacity and insufficient cost reductions to bring profits to airlines, and passenger income is at the lowest level in history, airlines do everything they can to minimize losses in 2020. Until the number of passengers continues to grow, airlines will still be in trouble. To be noticeable, CDC also suggests to have the viral test and have self quarantine that also decrease people’s demand to travel. There are also 17 states requiring quarantine for travels.

2.The domestic transportation in China.

The transportation in China has also been influenced by the epidemic. The Chinese government encourages people to have new year “in situ” which means no necessary do not go home and employees stay in the workplace for the Spring Festival. The local governments propose a series of policies to discourage people to reduce travel. Meanwhile, the authority offers a set of tips for the people that are necessary to join the Spring Festival travel rush.(pic1) The results are impressive. A total of 870 million passengers are expected to travel by rail, road, waterway and air during the Spring Festival travel rush in 2021, down 70.9 percent from the same period in 2019 and 40.8 percent from the same period in 2020, according to the special team of the State Council for joint prevention and control of the Spring Festival travel rush. In specific cities, the traveling people are obviously reduced. A total of 12,429 passengers were sent and 13,561 arrived at the guest station during the Spring Festival travel rush in 2021. The peak of the daily passenger flow was on the fourth day of the New Year, when 610 passengers were sent on that day, which was 10,165 fewer than the number of passengers sent in the 2021 Spring Festival travel rush. The reduction of traffic accidents can also reveal that the population joining the 2021 spring festival has largely decreased. During the 2021 Spring Festival travel rush period, the number of road traffic accidents and deaths decreased by 31.2 percent and 51.4 percent, respectively, compared with the 2019 Spring Festival travel rush period, with a 39.7 percent drop in accidents involving three or more people and a 58.3 percent drop in accidents involving five or more people.

3.The international transportation (exampled by the US and China)

Due to the epidemic, the Chinese government and the U.S. government have announced that the international transportation between two countries has been limited. As the outbreak intensified in the United States the White House banned Chinese citizens from entering the United States and its airlines suspended passenger flights to and from China. There is a Chinese travel restrictions policy called “Five One.” This policy forces all the airlines, no matter Chinese or foreign, to keep only one flight per week to travel in or out of China. This policy influenced 95% of air passenger traffic and has declined, causing severe loss to the airlines industry. This policy also required people quarantined for two weeks at designated hotels in the first entry city. Because of this policy, the ticket price became higher, and less people will choose to travel back to China. Due to this policy, in the short term, the U.S. also restricts the air travel between the U.S. and China to two flights in order to push Chinese government to release more flights. China later released a reward and circuit breaker mechanism to add more flights.

Part3-Conclusion:

There is a clear change in the transportation industry because of the epidemic. We can see a great reduction of traveling people during the epidemic period. This reduction of people leads to a financial crisis for airline companies. The demand of transportation decreases and therefore the price of tickets increases as shown in the international transportation part. The control to the airline companies as a monopolistic competition by the government shows that to achieve social optimal, the companies must give up the max-profiting. All of the above can lead to a conclusion that the epidemic creates a deep depression of the economy.
