Yes this is perfect! The idea was born after I saw clips of them playing football together at the Partita Del Cuore and then of course the need for it intensified today. 

Okay but this makes so much sense? Seb plagued by injuries? Feeling that “his time” is over as younger and younger kids start becoming rising football stars, but being unable to let go of something he loves so much, something he’s dedicated so much of his life to, not knowing who he is or what he’s supposed to do with himself once his footballer identity is stripped away. Clinging onto the vestiges of greatness, stubbornly refusing to fade away and be forgotten. 

Enter Charles - young, handsome, charming, ambitious. Speaks Italian, because of course he does. Is there anything he can’t do? Also, why do I feel like he’s a striker? 

Seb having to deal with the conflicting feelings he’s developed for his newest teammate, all while feeling sidelined and unfairly treated by the new team manager, trying to prove himself. 

There’s just so much potential here. All the emotions on the pitch, the anger, the pride, the jealousy, the joy, the passionate embraces, the highs of the wins and the lows of the losses, the locker room moments, late night hotel room shenanigans...Pining during training. I am looking. 👀

I wonder what the football club equivalent of Ferrari would be? Juve? Something else? 

Anyway the worms in my brain want me to write it and I could use the encouragement/enabling/suggestions, so feel free to hit me up about this at any time!

I want Valtteri to bully the shit out of him, in fact, because of course he can't skate. Or, you know, the figure skater vs hockey player switcharoo scenario :eyes:

so lynn and I were literally just discussing a battle of the blades type situation for uhhhh bottberg. nico has the ice dancer vibes and we all know valtteri’s one hair away from being a proper hockey player. 

I just think daniel would suit an anti-hallmark movie, you know? it’s the holidays and he’s stranded in some tiny town but the ice rink isn’t outdoors in the town square, it’s the local hockey arena and there is no romance here, just valtteri, the pro hockey player (also at home for the holidays and bitterly bored) relentlessly criticising daniel’s floppy ankles and inability to skate backwards. (callout for me because I cannot skate backwards.) just guys being dudes. daniel inevitably gets a light concussion and has to get hauled to the next town with a hospital for a checkup. he’s back on the ice too soon after, like an idiot, and there’s a tender moment where valtteri does up daniel’s skates properly for once in his life, but that’s as tender as it gets. when they both leave town, daniel is advised to stick to something like snowshoeing instead.

There it is again—that low simmering electricity between them that makes him feel like he's crawling out of his skin sometimes.

He can feel the blunt scrape of Charles’s teeth against his skin, the hot wetness of his tongue.

Red:

A green-white-red blur dances behind his eyelids, the hammering of his pulse matching the feverish roar of the nonexistent crowd as they chant his name with something akin to reverence. 

He thinks about the way people look at him sometimes, like he’s an elastic band stretched to its limits and they’re half-expecting him to snap and lunge at Charles at any given moment, clawing at him until he bleeds the red he wears.
