Looks like Dionne did todays evening show in the reveal look because of the heat! Bet the other queens were jealous she got to take a layer off! And the LIWs in short sleeved tees too
Ha, I was just coming to write up a post! Love how quick y’all are!
Tumblr media
L-R: Alice Angliss as Maria, Emma Jemima as Maggie, Kelly Morris as Bessie, Caitlin Morgan as Joan. @/thekellymorris.
They recently switched to wearing shorts for the summer months, but to my knowledge this is the first time to my knowledge that they’ve worn plain t-shirts since opening on the West End. I have a more in depth post about their costumes here.

For the matinee today Dionne Ward-Anderson wore her full costume. But for the evening she only wore it up until the reveal - only her shorts were back on after.

Dancing In The Dark
It had been years since Six the Musical went dark.
The queens had since moved on with their lives:
Catherine had finally gone back home. The oldest queen took the funds given to her by the Spanish government and settled back in her home from way back when, unrecognizable at first but eventually found to be familiar. She had intended to live alone, not wanting to influence anyone else’s decisions about the next chapter in their lives, but of course Maria refused to be anywhere else but her mistress’ side. Catherine Parr, somewhat surprisingly, joined her, and the trio settled down in a comfortable estate and started up their own non-profit to help combat illiteracy for womxn around the world.
Anne Boleyn had immediately approached Maggie to live with her in France, offering her a chance to start up a new type of performance art: livestreaming on Twitch and posting blogs on YouTube. The duo became wildly popular online, filming anything from travel blogs to personal monologues to wacky edits that went viral as soon as they were published. Anne also worked closely with women’s shelters to help women affected by domestic violence get back on their feet.
Surprisingly, Anne and Maggie were not alone in the neighborhood: right next door was Jane Seymour and Joan Muertas, with some of the most successful baking and craft videos on the internet. Jane had expressed an interest in leaving England altogether long before the show ended, and once it did, she jumped at the opportunity to go anywhere but there. Anne and Jane’s friendship had come a long way since the start, and now the two were constantly collaborating, constantly working together as much as possible, the unstoppable duo of the internet being able to support themselves, their ladies, and their shared need to support women’s shelters.
Anna of Cleves had, naturally, been one of the more adventurous queens post-show, taking Bessie with her on a trip around the world before they both settled down in Germany. Bessie became Anna’s executive assistant at her fashion company, which was dedicated to creating fashionable wardrobes for womxn of all shapes, sizes, and budgets. Their company grew to become one of the most successful brands in the world, and Anna found herself sitting on a throne of her own making.
This left the fifth queen, Katherine Howard, who had decided to do something surprising: not only to stay in London, but to work at the Tower of London, of all places. At first, the other queens objected, and all offered (some begged) Katherine to come with them elsewhere. Katherine, though, always felt a pull to her death place, always felt connected to it ever since she returned. She had decided that it was where she belonged, morbidly enough, and she strived to not only overcome her fears, but to help others do so as well. She told her story to the world as the most popular tour guide in the Tower and then campaigned to strengthen laws and regulations regarding sexual assault and child exploitation, helping children around the world to never be in the place she once was. She became a beacon of hope for many around the world, dedicating her life to the cause with the Tower of London now her home away from home.
This led to present day, where Katherine was getting ready for the biggest fundraising gala of the year: the Howard Banquet.
The Howard Banquet was named after Katherine herself, who would bring in hundreds of millions of dollars to be split amongst charities worldwide. It took up much of her attention for the past few months to plan the yearly event, with celebrities and the best of people invited to celebrate the importance of the charities involved and to help campaign for better and more accessible resources around the world. It was to be done at the Pavilion at the Tower of London, as it always was, as a nod to Katherine’s own history.
The red carpet was set out and Katherine was the first to enter the building, going through the press line and meeting with some board of directors. Her flowing dark pink dress was a highlight, and she smiled brightly as she explained it was made by Cleves Designs, per usual. As she continued into the venue, her friends from the Tower of London soon joined her, and the party started.
She was enjoying herself on the dance floor when she suddenly stops, feeling… weird. Something in the back of her head was telling her to look around, that something was there… and sure enough, there was.
A woman in a dark yellow and black dress walked through the outskirts of the dancing, and Katherine barely saw her. Her hair was up in her signature ponytail, though, curly locks bouncing as she tried to swiftly move through the crowd. Even with the darkened room and strobe lights, Katherine saw the girl look for her out of the corner of her eye, eyes widen, then try to move faster through the crowd, towards the open bar.
Target acquired.
Katherine instantly was on the move, going straight past everyone else, ignoring the questioning calls from her friends as she beelined straight to the accelerating person. Just before the girl turned a corner, Katherine was suddenly in front of her, narrowing her eyes.
“... Maria?”
Maria de Salinas was trying to look everywhere but Katherine at the moment, even though she was cornered. She looked to her left, and Katherine followed. She looked to her right, Katherine moved right into her eyeline. Finally, Maria simply decided to look at the corner, and Katherine actually wedged herself between the wall and Maria to get the girl to look at her.
“Maria!!!” Katherine says, smiling brightly. “Come on, I know you can see me!”
Maria sighed, shaking her head, before she looked right at Katherine.
“Ohhh, Katherine!” She says, giving a small smile. “Fancy seeing you here!”
“Yeah-huh,” Katherine replies, raising an eyebrow and not at all hiding the smirk on her face. “In my own gala? That is named after me?”
Maria scrambles for an answer.
“Funny coincidence, eh?”
Katherine stares at her for a moment more before throwing herself into Maria’s arms. Maria laughs, holding her tightly, swinging her around before Katherine continues to talk, not letting go of Kat’s hands.
“Why are you here?!?” Katherine asks. “Did they ask you to perform? They didn’t tell me the singing list, that wasn’t my department this year, but-”
“Shh, Kat, no I’m not part of the band,” Maria replies. “I’m just here.”
Katherine tilts her head. “Alone?”
Maria blinks. “Yeah.”
Katherine narrows her eyes again. “No, you’re not.”
Maria raises an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“Yeah.”
“You callin’ me a liar, Kitty-Kat?”
“Where is she?”
“Dunno who you’re talking about, babes.”
Katherine is still not buying it.
“You’re never too far apart, she’s definitely here.”
“Who?”
“Catherine!”
“Don’t know anyone by that name, nope.”
“Wot?!?” Katherine asks, and Maria laughs loudly.
“Listen, even if I knew where they were-”
But Maria realizes her mistake too late.
“THEY?!?” Katherine yells, so loudly it’s clear over the music and everyone stares. “THEY are here?!?”
Maria definitely realizes that she had said too much, and she mock-zips up her lips and refuses to budge afterwards, winking at the girl before rushing off. Katherine tries to follow, but Maria is lost in the crowd.
Kat huffs, annoyed, but not deterred.
She knows that Maria was headed towards the tables, so she casually wanders over there, trying to look the least suspicious possible. She sees Maria lock eyes with her across the way, then heads back towards the bar…
… but that doesn’t make sense, considering the lady was going for a drink, she assumes for Catherine and Cathy. Maria is definitely leading her astray.
With a smirk, Katherine takes her phone out and texts Cathy:
[Text: Parr] I know you’re here.
Katherine scans the room, waiting to see if there’s anyone around that opens their phone. She looks around long enough to get a reply:
[Text: Parr] Not sure what you mean, babes.
Katherine scoffs at that; she’s definitely here. No way she’s not.
She wanders around the table section, keeping a close eye on who is sitting and her surroundings: there’s not much rhyme or reason to the people around her, so she goes one by one, looking for anything
There’s a person in a tux.
There’s the host of the evening.
There’s a guy with a service dog.
There’s eight women with their backs turned to her trying to avoid being caught.
There’s a group of women from the shelter.
There’s a family receiving an award tonight.
There’s-
Wait.
She goes back to the third from last group, narrowing her eyes once again. There’s a woman in a gorgeous dark yellow dress, similar to Maria’s but a bit more lavish, golden jewelry complimenting the outfit. There’s a woman in a long, green dress, sleeves included. There’s a third woman in a black and white jumpsuit. There’s a fourth woman in a maroon tux. There’s a fifth woman in a blue suit. And finally, there are three women in dresses similar to the one in green, the one in black and white, and the one in red.
And all of them are absolutely refusing to look in any direction.
Again, the girl makes a beeline towards her target, avoiding even Maria’s call. When she gets close, she can hear them talking.
“Do you think she saw us?” Asks the girl in blue.
“I doubt it, there’s so many people here,” the woman in yellow says.
“I don’t know, she already caught Maria, I bet she’s definitely looking for Catherine,” says the woman in red.
“Maybe we should huddle up around her?” the one in black and white asks. “Might be easier to hide you.”
Katherine steps up and gently pushes her way into the group.
“Yeah, that might work,” Katherine says, as calmly as possible. “Maybe you should just call Maria back, might work.”
“Good idea, Kit-” the green dress lady says, but then she gasps.
The collective scream from the queens and ladies in the circle is enough to shock everyone around them.
Katherine is instantly embraced by the queens, laughing as they all take turns saying hello. She can barely speak with how excited she is, bouncing on her toes as she talks excitedly.
“You’re all here?!?” she asks, bouncing more and more and more. “Why are you all here?!?”
“We were invited,” Jane replies with a massive grin. “By your foundation. It was supposed to be a surprise, but, well…” Jane shrugs.
Maria happens upon them then, sighing playfully before she gently puts a hand on Katherine’s shoulder, causing Katherine to moreso bounce faster but not as big as before in place.
“I’m sorry, I thought I could sneak past her,” Maria says with a chuckle. “She’s too good at this.”
“I just! It’s been forever since last, and I miss you all, and-!” Katherine says, right before she goes for another hug to the most close person - Maggie this time, who welcomes the affection. “I missed you all a lot.”
Jane gently brings her girl into another hug. “We all missed you, too. And it was great fun catching up with everyone.”
Katherine nods happily, smiling so widely her face hurts.
The rest of the evening, Katherine is never far away from her queens and ladies, dancing the night away. Even during the performances and the awards and the speeches, Katherine is arm in arm with at least one queen, clearly showing how much she missed them.
Towards the end of the night, Katherine and the others are outside, taking a breather in the warm night air, the Tower of London now a comforting sight behind them.
“So, when’s the next time you lot will be around my neck of the woods?” Katherine asks, sipping on a glass of wine.
“Well, actually-” Maria starts, but Joan picks up.
“Jane and I are here for the next week,” she replies.
“Oh! Would you look at that?” Bessie says, looking at her smirking queen. “We’re the same.”
“Snap,” Maggie replies. “Anne and I are here for that long, too.”
“And us!” Maria finally gets in. “Cathy, Catalina and I are hanging out for the week.”
Katherine’s jaw straight drops.
“You’re… you’re all here? For the week?”
When they nod… well, Katherine tears up.
“Oh, love, I’m sorry,” Anna says, grabbing a napkin to help Katherine dry her eyes. “Is that too much?”
Jane is immediately at her side, a hand on her girl’s back, but when Katherine looks up, she’s smiling. They’re happy tears.
“I just! It’s been forever, and now I have you lot for the full week!” Katherine says, laughing loudly. “I just… I love you guys, you know that right?”
“Awww, Kit!” Anne says, moving to hug her cousin. “It’s okay. We’re here for the next week. For whatever you want.”
Katherine smiles brightly, nodding happily.
“I think this’ll be the best week ever!”

Well this hurts my heart
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It absolutely kills me to see her go, it really does. I’m glad she will atleast still be part of the Six team, but not having her as Joan really sucks. She is extremely talented and hardworking and she’s honestly one of the backbones of Six on the West End. I just hope someone just as wonderful and talented can pick up Joan where she left off.

No, but imagine
K Howard that after the reincarnation refuses to sing and play instruments because it reminds her of Mannox
Anna and Cathy that remembers that while Kat was at court (as lady in waiting and queen) sometimes she would sing and had a really beautiful voice
The queens that want to hear Kat singing again so they try to make it seem normal in the house to sing, that it is nothing bad
One day they hear Kat sing while alone in her room, and they get very happy. Over time, Kat feels more confident singing (and often starts random karaoke nights)
The LiW noticing during a break in rehearsal that Kat tentatively tries to fiddle with the guitar while she thinks no one is watching (and damn, she’s good at it)
The LiW doing with music what the queen have done with singing, to get Kat to break from the shell
They’re curious at what level Kat is, turns out she can play everything like a natural
Kat no longer relating singing and playing with old memories, but with new ones and being happy

Okay, more about the Buzzfeed Unsolved AU, because I'm gonna keep posting about it until I get bored or fall asleep.
Okay, so I originally thought about having Aragon as the camerawoman who follows them around, but then I had a different idea. Joan is the camerawoman instead.
So basically, the three Queens have this timid, pale, sleep deprived girl with wide grey eyes following them around into all these terrifying haunted locations.
Jane doesn't like her, because she'll keep running into Joan in the dark and thinking she's a ghost or something, causing both of them to scream. Anne finds her amusing because she keeps scaring the life out of Jane, and Aragon is mainly worried that this girl is going to pass out, or trip over and break into a million pieces (old motherly instincts I guess.)
The ghosts think it's hilarious to watch her stumble around, jumping at every little noise like she'd been zapped.
(This idea was inspired by @moan-jeutas 's Joan, because I love that characterisation to death)

The making of Catherine Parr's song.
Feat. The Ladies in Waiting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anne: Wait, I don't get it
Joan: Fucking hell, I have ANOTHER idea!!
__________________
When I saw IDNYL for the first time in a blurry bootleg I found really funny how the queens started dancing to the song until Cathy is like "... But I can't say that" And they all go quiet, and then start dancing again to Cathy going "No, this is sad"

Twin Souls, Part 1
It started with a journey.
Katherine had accompanied Jane to Hampton Court Palace. The place of Edward’s birth, but of Jane’s own death. Jane had been both dreading and looking forward to seeing what the place looked like now, hoping that the memories of it wouldn’t be too much to bare so she could continue to process what happened back then.
She had asked Katherine to accompany her for support, and Katherine, of course, immediately agreed.
They walked quietly into the various rooms, a chill running down their spines.
“They say that you’re still haunting this place to this day, you know,” Jane says, smiling gently at the girl.
Katherine shrugs. “It’s on my daily calendar: haunt this place in the morning, get to the show immediately afterwards.”
Jane chuckles at that, looking around the room. It’s so familiar, and yet… definitely not. She remembers when she was pregnant, when she was craving quail, how happy things were… and how stressful. How she knew if Edward was a girl, it would have- she could have-
Glass breaking caused her to snap out of her thoughts. The loud “thud” from behind her made her turn around.
“Katherine-? Katherine!”
Katherine is on the floor, lifeless, and Jane’s about to approach when she suddenly sees… someone. A young boy, about 15, stands in front of her. He’s see through, and it frightens her. When he approaches Katherine, she instantly steps forward.
“Get away from her.”
The boy blinks in surprise, looking up. He has her eyes, she realizes, and before he even starts to speak, she realizes what’s happened.
“Don’t you recognize me, mum?”
Jane, eyes wide, stares.
He smiles even wider. God, she’s missed that smile. “I’ll be able to hug you in a moment, mum. We’ve come to an agreement.”
“We?” Jane asks, but then Edward suddenly starts to float, eyes closing, and he seems to… dissolve… into Katherine’s form.
A blinding light comes from Katherine and quickly bleeds into the surrounding area. When Jane can see again, Katherine is no longer on the ground, but standing.
She gives a gentle wave.
“Hey, mum. It’s nice to finally meet you.”
Jane is still frozen in her spot. “What… what’s happened? What is going on?”
“Katherine is letting me borrow her body for a while,” Edward replies. “We’re gonna share it for right now. If things go well, we can share it forever.” he moves over, a bit awkwardly so, and gently puts his hands in Jane’s. They’re definitely Katherine’s, but even how he holds Jane’s hands feels… wrong, but not entirely so. “We’re okay, mum. I get to say hello for a bit.”
Jane’s already tearing up, holding her son’s hands a bit closer. “Really?”
He smiles widely and nods.
Less than an hour later, Jane practically barges into the queen’s flat, Edward close behind. Anne looks up from her book and tilts her head.
“What’s going on? Are you two okay?”
“Katherine?” Anna asks, tilting her head and narrowing her eyes. “Are… you okay?”
“Ladies, I have an announcement to make!” Jane says, smiling impossibly wider. She’s not stopped smiling since Edward made himself known. She points to Katherine. “This is Edward.”
Everyone blinks. They all look at each other. Then, they look at Edward, who smiles and waves slightly.
To them, at least, it’s Katherine waving at them, pink-tipped hair and all.
“I know she’s short, Jane,” Catherine says, a light tone, “but that’s definitely Katherine.”
Edward pouts. “Hey! Not that short…” he sizes himself up against Anna, who gently takes Edward’s head, making him look at her. She stares intently - so closely that Edward squirms a bit - before she slowly looks back up at Jane.
“What’s happened?”
The tone isn’t angry, per say, but it’s certainly not kind.
“This is Edward,” Jane repeats. “He did some sort of magick - with Katherine’s permission! - and now he’s hanging out with us for the day.”
“I’ll be giving Katherine back for the evening, I promise,” Edward says, giving Anna a hopeful smile. “It’s good to see you again, Anna.” He turns to Cathy, tearing up a bit. “And you, mum.”
Cathy inhales sharply at that, tensing, and she moves over to him, gently putting her hand on his cheek.
“Oh, love…” she pulls him close for a hug, and now they’re both crying.
Anna and Anne, however, definitely are not.
“Is this even possible?” Catherine asks, frowning deeply at the turn of events.
“We came back out of nowhere,” Anna replies. “It’s definitely possible, I imagine.”
“Where’s Katherine now, then, if you’re not her?” Anne asks, stepping forward.
Cathy breaks the embrace so Edward can step forward to answer the question.
“She’s asleep. Right in here,” he says, pointing to his head. “She’s totally safe. We agreed on this, and she wouldn’t have agreed to this if she didn’t think it wasn’t safe, you know?” He smiles. “She’s fine. I promise, she’s fine.”
“Can we talk to her?” Anne asks, raising an eyebrow, and Edward frowns.
“We can tonight, I promise!” He smiles back at Jane and Cathy. “Can we do things now? I don’t have a lot of time before we swap. It’ll be at dusk.”
Jane and Cathy looks at the others, and before any can really say anything, Jane takes his hand and rushes out of the flat.
“Hey, wait-!” Anne says, but Cathy and Jane are already gone. A few seconds later, Catherine gets a text from Maria, wondering why she just got a text from Cathy and Joan got one from Jane, and things start to get clearer.
“I’ll have Maria keep track of them,” Catherine says, frowning as she replies back.
Anna shakes her head. “This doesn’t feel okay, why would Katherine just… agree to this?” she looks outside, frowning. “This isn’t okay. It’s… unnatural.”
“With Maria with them, I feel a bit better about it,” Anne admits, shaking her head. “We’ll just… have to trust Maria when she comes back.” Anne sighs, a hand through her hair. “Though I agree, I really don’t like this.”
“We’ll figure it out,” Catherine says. “Can’t believe they just ran off like that.”
Anna simply stares at where they once were.
In the car, Jane and Cathy sit in the back with Edward between them, while Maria is shotgun and Joan is driving.
“We’ll hit up the carnival nearby,” Joan suggests, “and then after that, we’ll go eat wherever you’d like, Eddie.”
He nods, smiling widely at the suggestion, before looking up at Jane. “Is that alright, mum?”
Mum. She has to giggle at the word. Katherine calls her that - not as much recently, but when they first started out, she was more commonly “mum” than she was “Jane” to the youngest queen - but this time around, it holds such a different meaning that she just has to laugh.
“Yes, I think that’s just fine, my love,” she says, kissing the top of his head.
He leans into the touch before looking back at Cathy. Cathy isn’t as immediately in love with the idea - she’s a bit shocked, honestly - but she holds together fairly well as Edward smiles.
“Are you okay? I know this is quite a shock-”
“How are you even here, Eddie?” Cathy asks, smoothing out his hair. “I just… I love you, and I love that you’re back, but I don’t understand why or how.”
He looks a bit uncomfortable at the question.
“I… had some help. He figured it out, and I got to come back.” He shrugs. “Pretty simple.”
“He?” Cathy asks, raising an eyebrow, looking up at Jane. Jane’s hand holds Eddie’s a bit tighter as she looks back down at him. “Who is ‘he,’ Eddie?”
He tilts his head in thought before he realizes what Cathy must think. “Oh! No, not dad, no, he’s dead as far as I know.” he chuckles when he sees both of them sigh in relief. “No, it’s… well, it’s someone else.”
“Who, then?” Jane asks softly, but then Joan turns back towards them.
“We’re ready to go out now?” she asks, smiling softly at the boy. He nods, and instantly gets out of the car, rushing away.
Joan gets out, moving to Maria. Joan looks over at her fellow lady with a frown.
“What’s up?” she asks, moving with her towards their queens.
“I really want to know who’s behind this,” Maria mumbles. “That’s all.”
Joan sighs. “Yeah.” she looks over at the three now playing a simple game of tag. “Same here.”
It’s a few hours later when Joan and Maria are sent to get food for them all. When they return, Jane and Cathy are discussing things with Edward.
“So you’re saying that people have, like… magickal phones?” he asks, tilting his head. It’s just like Katherine… but not.
“Something like that,” Cathy chuckles. “I’ll show you, here!” She pulls Jane and Eddie in close, holding out her phone to Maria. “Could you please?”
Maria nods, stepping back with Joan, holding the phone up.
“Alright, say-” Maria says, but then her eyes widen and she tenses.
Joan frowns. “What’s-?” but then she falls into a shocked silence.
There, before them, are the three people… but Katherine doesn’t look normal. She seems to have an overlay of her own body, a double exposure of some sort, and the translucent overlay seems to be… screaming. In pain.
“Ready?” Cathy asks, tilting her head. They’ve been waiting for the photo to snap.
Maria nods, takes the photo, then sends it to Catherine.
Catherine replies immediately.
[Text: Maria] Get them back here. Now.
Joan looks back at the others. “It’s getting a bit late, we’ll need to wrap up soon.” she looks out at the sky. “It’s almost dusk. I’m sure Katherine will want to be home with everyone.”
Edward pouts a bit. “She’s fine, I promise!” He says, but he rolls his eyes and sighs, getting up. “Alright, alright, fine.”
Jane chuckles. “We’ll just do this again tomorrow, right?”
Edward looks absolutely ecstatic about the idea.
They get home, however, and everyone is far from happy.
“Alright, you had your little adventure, this done, please give us back Katherine now,” Anne says, immediately confronting him.
Jane narrows her eyes. “Don’t be rude, Anne, he should at least be able to say goodbye.”
“And he should do that now, it’s dusk,” Anne points out. “Give us back Katherine. Now.”
Jane steps directly in Anne’s way, and Jane looks absolutely offended.
“He’s just a child, Anne, and you’re being rude!” she exclaims, a hand reaching behind her for Edward’s. He takes it, looking down. At least he’s got the decency to be ashamed.
“We don’t know if this is good for her or not,” Anna says. “And honestly, we don’t know how Katherine is feeling.” Anna looks Jane straight in the eye. “And you want to make sure that Katherine is okay, right?”
“I-” Jane starts, sighing a moment later. “You’re right.” she turns to gently boop his nose. “And you deserve a chance to rest, right?”
He smiles. “I’ll meet up with you tomorrow, mum, I promise.” He looks back at Cathy, who looks… not happy, not sad, a bit conflicted. It’s a weird look for the usually sure Catherine Parr. “I love you, mum, okay?”
He hugs both of them before he looks up at Anna. “I suppose you want me with you, Anna?”
Anna nods, gently taking his hand, and moves him upstairs.
As they walk into Anna’s room and Edward sits on the bed, he can’t help but look a bit nervous.
“I didn’t expect a warm welcome from Lady Boleyn,” he says with a frown. “But… I don’t know, I thought we were okay.”
“We are, Eddie, it’s just…” Anna sighs. “I’m worried about Katherine.” She holds up her phone, showing him the photo they took in the park. His eyes go wide and he takes the photo as Anna continues. “She looks a bit hurt there. It doesn’t look natural.”
“I… he looks at it even closer. “Is that… her?”
Anna tilts her head. “You don’t know?” he shakes his head, and Anna takes a deep breath. “Eddie, Maria told me you almost told us who helped you with this whole thing. It’s not Henry, and that’s good. But who is it-”
“Alright, enough!”
Anna looks back in time for Anne to appear. She marches right up to him.
“Enough of this, give back Katherine, it’s been an hour since sundown.”
Edward sighs. “Fine, fine.” He looks over at Anna. “Tomorrow?”
Anna frowns but nods. “Tomorrow.”
And with that, Edward closes his eyes.
There’s a blinding flash of light and, when they’re able to see again, Katherine is on the ground.
Anna is instantly at her side, looking her over. She curses.
“She must have hit her head when they switched,” Ann says, gently picking Katherine up. She’s got a bump on her head already.
Anne instantly is at her side, watching closely. “Do we need to take her to hospital?”
“I don’t-” Anna starts, but then Katherine suddenly gasps awake. “Hey, hey, Katherine, it’s okay, it’s us,” Anna says, gently pulling the girl into her arms.
Katherine’s eyes are glassy, body limp in her arms. She doesn’t respond, worryingly so, and Anna has to poke her to get her attention.
“Hello,” Anna says. “Are you okay?”
Katherine blinks.
“Oh...kay?”
Anna frowns. “Katherine? You ok?”
Katherine slowly, shakily points to herself.
“Oh... Kay?”
Anna narrows her eyes. Anna points to herself. “Do you know your name, Katherine?”
The girl watches for a moment before she mimics Anna’s movement.
“Oh.... Kay?”
Anne immediately turns away.
“Let’s get her some rest,” Anne says. “Then, we’ll deal with the other guys tomorrow. We need to talk to her when she’s not… like this.”
Anna nods, looking back at Katherine. “Come on, love, let’s get you some rest.”
Katherine does not reply. She only twitches, doesn’t even try to curl into Anna. No cuddles, no affection, nothing.
Throughout the night, Anna keeps a close eye on her closest friend. She hears Katherien’s heavy breathing, of her small whimpers, of her wheezing, of her twitching and pain small gasps. A few hours into the night, she finally moves, curling up into a ball with her head in her hands, shaking. A few hours after that, Katherine has somehow fallen asleep.
The next morning, Anne is immediately in Anna’s room, bringing the rest of the queens in as well.
“Katherine isn’t doing well,” Anne says simply.
Jane raised an eyebrow. “I don’t think that’s true, we don’t know anything-”
“You didn’t see her last night, Jane,” Anna pushes. She gives Jane her phone, where a recording of Katherine late at night is playing. Jane pales at the sight.
“Oh, love…” Jane says, gaze softening. She looks up at Anna. “But why would she agree to this? Why would she want to do this?”
“Isn’t it obvious, Seymour?” Anne asks. “It’s for you. And for Parr. It’s for both of you.”
Jane frowns. “You don’t usually call us by our last names.”
“Well, when you’re being idiots, I’ll call you that,” Anne snaps back. “She’s hurt. Really hurt. We can’t do this again.”
Jane looks over at Cathy, who is clearly shaken by the footage. Cathy eventually has to look away, and Jane looks back.
“I… okay.” She takes a deep breath. “Not again. Not when it can cost her his life.”
Anne’s gaze softens.
“I know it’s hard, Jane, but… this is Katherine-”
“I know,” Jane says softly. “Just… I wish we could have said goodbye.”
“Hey, is everyone okay?”
They all look just in time for Katherine to be looking at them, confused.
“Hey, babes,” Anne says, instantly sitting next to her with a smile. “Are you okay? How are you feeling?”
“I- what do you mean?” Katherine asks. “What’s happened?” She looks at Jane. “Are we going to the Palace soon?”
They all look at each other before Catherine speaks.
“I’ll get you some soup, Katherine, I’m sure you don’t feel great.” she says, looking over at the others. “I’ll… leave you all to this.”
She leaves.
Anna steps up. “That was yesterday, Kit. You went with Jane yesterday, on our day off.”
Katherine looks a bit suspicious. “Is this a trick? Funny joke, guys, we’re going today, aren’t we, mum?”
It takes Jane a moment - she’s choked up a bit - but she shakes her head. “No, love, we’re not. We went yesterday… do you remember meeting Eddie?”
“Eddie? Who is-” she starts, but then she looks down, as if trying to remember a memory. “Eddie… Edward, it was-” she suddenly doubles over in pain, hand to her head, and gasps.
“Kat?” Anna asks, sitting next to her. “Kat, stay with me, love-”
“I’m okay,” Katherine mumbles. “I swear, I’m okay, it’s just… scary. It hurts. I don’t know a lot, but… we talked. At the place. We talked for a bit, and then he said he wanted to see you guys, so… I agreed. And then it was nice and warm but… bad. Too warm. Like a sauna. I couldn’t breathe for a bit, and-” she shakes her head. “Nothing. I don’t remember anything else.”
They’re silent for a while before Anna speaks up.
“We’ll discuss this a bit more later,” Anna says. Catherine has arrived and she gives Kat her soup. “Eat up, let’s see how you feel later. Cathy,” Anna says, looking up at the woman. “Can you ask one of the alternates-”
“I’ll ask two,” she says, giving Anna a gentle smile. “I doubt you’ll want to be without her for long, right?”
Anna smiles. “Thank you.” she looks at Anne. “Can you-”
“Research what the bloody hell just happened?” Anne asks, finishing the thought. “I’ll get right on it. Cathy’ll help me, won’t you?”
Cathy nods. Jane looks away, ashamed, and Catherine gently puts a hand on her shoulder.
“Alright, I think we all know what we’re going to be doing for the next few hours,” Anna says. “Let’s get to it.”
Catherine and Jane head downstairs, clearly having a lot to talk about.
Anne and Cathy go to Cathy’s study.
And Katherine gets some fantastic cuddles from her favorite, oldest friend.
“Did I do something wrong?” She asks, but she curls up to Anna immediately. Anna smiles at the contact; Kat’s not done this since they first came about, when she was so scared and very much a child. Kat’s come such a far way since then; into her own brilliant, wonderful person, who will stand up for herself and those around her.
The idea that they could have lost her last night… it terrifies Anna. More than anything else she’s experienced in any life.
“There was just a thing that happened, but you’re okay. We can discuss it a bit later,” Anna promises.
They stay like that for an hour, keeping close, Anna putting on Kat’s favorite television shows on her tablet, smiling as Kat slowly but surely returns to her normal strength. Katherine sagged a bit into the pillows, taking a few spoonfuls of soup before looking over at Anna.
“I feel a lot better now,” Katherine says with a grin. “Thank you for the help.”
Anna nods, gently moving a strand of hair from Katherine’s face as she smiles back. “I’m glad you’re feeling better. You weren’t making much sense before, and you’ve been out for a few hours now. It was a bit scary, admittedly.”
Katherine frowns at that. “It was my fault, really. I let him in, I cut the deal with him-”
“It is NOT,” Anna says, voice low, almost a growl, “your fault, Kat. I know you did what you thought was right.” she sighs, a hand through her hair as she moves to sit with her back against the headboard, Katherine immediately welcoming herself into Anna’s arms. “I know you only did that to make Jane and Cathy happy. I understand. It’s just… dangerous. I’m surprised they even wanted to do that, to risk your life for it.”
“I don’t think they knew how much was involved in it,” Katherine explains. “I think they thought I’d just be… hanging out, in m’ head. That’s not what’s happened.” Kat shivers. “It was warm and nice - Edward made sure of that - but it was… suffocating. Like I was in a place that didn’t have enough air. Slowly but surely just… suffocating.”
There’s silence for a few moments. Katherine considers what happened while Anna holds the girl closer to her. If this had caused Katherine more pain, if this actually made her sick or injured…
… well, Anna doesn’t know what she’d do.
“I guess-” Katherine starts, but then she suddenly gasps, tenses, and collapses into Anna’s lap.
“Katherine!” Anna yells, instantly collecting the girl, instantly trying to wake her up. She looks up towards the door in a panic. “Anne! Anne, please, help-!”
But then, Katherine begins to stir.
Katherine groans, head in her hands, breathing erratic as she slowly sits up. She looks over at Anna and says nothing, just staring.
Does she look… scared? Nervous?
“Katherine?” Anna asks, frowning. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah…” Katherine mumbles, leaning heavily against Anna as she recovers. “Just had a head spell or something. Not sure.”
She gets up slowly but surely, standing and smiling softly. “I’ll be okay. I just… want to go get some water.”
Anna stands. “Let me help-”
“No, no,” Katherine says. “I’m okay, really. I just… need some fresh air.”
Anna slowly sits back down. “Okay. But if you need something - anything - let me know, okay?”
Katherine smiles. “Thank you, Anna.”
And with that, she moves downstairs, past Anne and straight to the kitchen to get a drink of water.
Jane just so happened to be there, working on dinner. She looks up and smiles at the younger woman, who immediately goes to hug her.
“Feeling better, love?” Jane asks.
Katherine smiles. A smile that Jane instantly recognizes as not Katherine’s own.
“Much, now that you’re here.”
Katherine holds Jane a bit closer, sighing in relief. “I honestly didn’t think that would work. I thought Anna instantly recognized me, but… I guess she didn’t.”
Jane frowns. “Wait, what are you-”
Katherine looks up at Jane with a grin.
“Mum. It’s me, mum. I’m back.”
And Jane feels herself falling all over again.

Six but as what thier Fursonas would be because fuck you
Aragon - a maned lioness with a little crown cause she’s just classy like that ; has normal natural colors except some good mane highlights
Boleyn - a weasel and no not for the reason you’re thinking. A dark grayish brown with a white underbelly, wears a leather jacket for some reason?? With spikes?? Random green patches of fur cause she’s extra, annnd the reason I made her this is cause they fucking dance before killing something and I find that hilarious (and for a another reason that becomes relevant later on)
Seymour - a polar bear but with a few light grey patches on her chest that look kinda like a heart? She also just has very fluffy arms and a black scarf for god knows why
Cleves - a wolfdog because she’s just a badass like that~ ; but yea cause of her whole hunting thing and hounds n shit ; but she’s a dark amber color cause it’s her ✨ aesthetic ✨ with a ton of gold things like pericings and jewelry
Howard - I bet you could never fuckin guess in a MILLION YEARS- a cat lmao ; more specifically a Manx cat (a cat with a naturally bobbed tiny ass tail ) thats calico, but has a fuckin neon pink dyed bang or something- like a tuft of longer fur on her noggin that’s fuckin pink ; also has a bedazzled shiny pink collar with her K on it
Parr - a SQUIRREL!! Okay let me explain-
Squirrels are smart as HELL, and yknow, they fluffy too lol ; but she’s a normal looking Squirrel, but with reading glasses and a blue hoodie
Maggie - a FERRET!!! Okay this is obviously framed around the west end cast and Amy Shaw looks like a damn Ferret In the BEST way possible-
She is also the reason Anne is a weasel! Cause weasels and ferrets are in the same family!! But she’s a white Ferret with a black spot over one eye! She has a little fur Mohawk and it’s great- she also wears a Metallica shirt cause she’s a Metal Ferret
Maria - a lioness! Not maned, but just has really curly neck fluff 🥺 and she’s also normal colored like Catalina is, but just has a little gold sweater and a cross necklace
Joan - a fucking SHEEEP!!! But not JUST a sheep!! A cat-sheep!! Cat ears, tail, fur, and paws, but sheep wool, eyes (cause they have big ol cute eyes) , tiny horns, and hooves
Bessie - okay I saved the most extra and complicated for last cause Bessie is just LIKE THAT ; so she is part Rat, opossum, vampire bat, and goat 🥺
Goat hooves and horns - bat wings and teeth - rat tail and hands - and opossum whiskers
But it gets kinda complicated here - her face shape is like a mix of the opossum and bat - her fur is an almost black with a white muzzle and belly - her ears look like a bat’s , but are long and floppy like a goat’s
She very fluffy
