Wishing You Were Here Again is an odd choice for an In Memoriam song.

Like, the chorus is perfect...but the verses don’t quite work.

Also....I’m I the only one who finds it weird that they started the In Memoriam by talking about Phantom?  Like...the show has “died” so we’re going to do a tribute to the people who passed away.

BUT, I will say that Joaquina Kalukango sounded fantastic.  The fact that last year she won a Tony for belting her face off (and astounding breath support), and this year she comes in with this gorgeous soprano is *chef’s kiss*

I may have only seen tonight’s clip of Paradise Square, but if Joaquina Kalukango hadn’t won tonight, I would have been so pissed.

Paradise Square has announced that it will play its last performance this month. Possible national tour and international productions are being planned.

Mod Note: I had heard there were low ticket sales (so low the cast wasn’t being paid what they had been promised) but I was never really sure how true that was. I hope the cast and crew get paid what they are due. I also wonder if we will still get the original cast album.
