Continuing on, just a few days ago, the world lost #JohnGAvildsen - director of #Rocky and #TheKarateKid. He was #KingoftheUnderdogs (shout out to homie @dwjohnson16 who filmed a documentary on John). This was a great and memorable night having screened #KarateKid with the cast and crew - @ralph_macchio @williamzabka #MartinKove and my beautiful and wonderfully fierce friend of many years now @thetamlyntomita. John added a lot to the world, and I'm glad to have at least shared a drink and a short talk with him that night. It was one for the books, and so was he. John Avildsen, the Oscar-winning director whose blockbuster films like “Rocky” and “The Karate Kid” championed the ascent of underdogs, has died. He was 81 years old.
