A good article explaining the reasoning behind the hatred towards THAT FILM THAT WASN’T EVEN JEM (aka. Jon M. Chu's train-wreck, "Jem and the Holograms: The Movie"). It wasn't simply because the film had NOTHING AT ALL to do with the original series/characters - it was the blatant disregard and rude, abusive manipulation of the original cartoon's fans which was inexcusable. Once again - fuck you, #jemthemovie. 🖕 Glad you got the karma your shady team so deserved! 👍😄

Jon Chu Please Apoligize over the Crowdsourcing

There are alot of fans upset and hurt over the lies about the crowdsourcing. Its not only the casting. Fans thought they would be writing the songs, doing choreography, and designing costumes but there was no need since there was already a costume designer and song already recorded. Fans volunteered to do makeup and the ladies doing the makeup told them on Twitter they had to be in a Hollywood union. That didn't make any sense after the video since it didn't say you had to be in union.

I don't know what happened. Mistakes were made. Hopefully there good intentions.  Seems like the people running the Tumblr don't have anything to do with making the movie.

Everybody needs to move past this and I think an apology would help.

Maybe crowdsourcing a movie is a bad idea. Its good they wanted fans to be involved but its worse to get everyones hopes up and then lie to them.

The movie could be great but there is this cloud hanging over it since everyone thought it would be 100% crowdsourced and it wasn't.

I think I've learned a lot from him, watching him interact with the fans. It would freak me out - & sometimes it does freak me out when I'm getting shoved & pushed aside. But Justin actually sees them as real human beings, which can be hard sometimes. We were at an interview in Canada, & they had this image of this girl crying, like "Watch this crazy fan, she's so funny!" & the girl was just bawling her eyes out. Everyone was laughing their heads off, & I'm laughing, but then I look & Justin's not laughing. He just says, "Aw she's such a sweetheart, how nice of her!" I remember thinking, holy shit, we're assholes.
