As he fed He had become aware that someone had been following them afterwards as they stood up, she looked at him and gave him hug. The figure that was hiding in the shdows stepped forward and Astarion immediately felt Annie tense up as a man with greying auburn hair and dead eyes looked them up and down “Of course my brother’s daughter would become a fang banger.” Annie glared at him, “how long have you been following me you asshole?”  she paused and gathered her thoughts "He may be a vampire but he never tried to kill me for merely existing." Annie says as she glares at Gabriel Collins her uncle and the man who mindlessly slaughtered all the people in their family. the man who caused the jagged scars on her neck they were faded....but still visible.

Astarion noticed Gabriel drawing a dagger, it was obvious his intentions were to finish what he had started ten years before. Astarion placed him between Annie and Gabriel as the man fueled by rage and greed lunged at Annie. Before Astarion could raise his hand to defend he felt a burning of course it would hardly harm him since he had been walking the world like a ghost. But he would know that this dagger was laced with poison. After nearly an hour of fighting this old man, Astarion was about to kill him and he looked at Annie “Gods Be Damned.” He muttered under his breath “You Mister Collins donlt deserve this. Because you never showed it to the people you should have held dear. I am showing you mercy.”  He leaned in so Annie wouldnlt hear his next words “But if I we cross paths when Anastasia isn’t there to witness you will be the newest denizen of the nine hells.”  After Gabriel limped away Astarion collapses to his knees. Annie knelt next to him “Thank you, Astarion. You didn’t need to protect me.” “I needed you to trust me. You can trust me.” He said as he caressed her cheek a a few days later they arrive in small down the most noticeable thing is a gothic mansion. “this whole town wreaks of death and despair.”

Annie looked at him “Now you know why I evade the questions when you ask about my past.” She looked at him “go into the woods and feed on few wolves I want you to help me bury my family. I doubt Gabriel did anything.” That night in Collins mausoleum “Put Galen in my vault I don’t intend to be buried here.” Astarion looked around the mausoleum “Daphne Rose Harridge Collins.  Josette DuPres Collins.” He looked at her “You were using the maiden names of women in your family as way to keep him from finding you.”

Annie looked at him “My 16th birthday was the day before he slaughtered them. You asked me about the silver bell I wear around my neck. It is a family Heirloom from my mother’s family. She gave it to me the day before she was killed.” In the previous ten years she had never allowed herself to mourn them. She had been blaming herself for soemthign that wasn’t truly her fault. He hesitated and placed his hand on her shoulder “Annie, this was never your fault. Something was broken inside Gabriel Collins.” Astarion wrapped his arms around her and let her cry into his chest.  She had been carrying this around for almost 11 years. As they left the mausoleum they swore they could hear Piano music. The sign that her family was finally at Peace Annie could move on. As they traveled back to Baldur’s Gate, Astarion looked at her “Gottverdammt.” He muttered  “If you don’t want to be lovers. We can be friends. I do love you, Annie.” [Note: gottverdammt is the German translation of god damn it.] Annie looked at him and gave him another hug “I have never had friends no one trusted the Collins family.” He gently took her hand in both of his. His touch was still warm from feeding on three wolves  “Thank you, Astarion.”  The way she said his name always sounded like music. Everyone else always sounded disappointed or frustrated when they said his name. “You are the first person to show me any sort of kindness without asking for anythign in return.” He said before they entered town after traveling for two days. This was the start of something new for them both. No telling where the path would lead but they would do it together. Wednesday, September 27, 2023

I told one of those new fangled AI services that I wanted to write a novel based on “Dark Shadows”. This is how it responded!

The year is 1966. The place is Collinsport, Maine. The Collins family is one of the most wealthy and powerful families in the area, but they are also cursed. For generations, the Collins family has been haunted by the ghost of Josette duPres, a young woman who was murdered by her husband, Barnabas Collins.

Barnabas Collins is now a vampire, and he is determined to avenge Josette's death. He has returned to Collinsport, and he is slowly but surely taking over the family. He has already killed several members of the Collins family, and he is not stopping there.

The only person who can stop Barnabas Collins is his descendant, Quentin Collins. Quentin is a young man who is just beginning to learn about his family's dark history. He is also in love with a young woman named Maggie Evans, who is also a descendant of Josette duPres.

Quentin and Maggie must team up to stop Barnabas Collins before he can destroy the Collins family and Collinsport. They will need all of their strength and courage to defeat the vampire, but they are determined to save the ones they love.

The novel follows Quentin and Maggie as they race against time to stop Barnabas Collins. Along the way, they will uncover the dark secrets of the Collins family and the true nature of Barnabas Collins. They will also face many dangers, including the ghost of Josette duPres, a werewolf, and a group of witches.

In the end, Quentin and Maggie must make a choice: will they save the Collins family and Collinsport, or will they succumb to the dark forces that are trying to destroy them?

The novel is a dark and suspenseful tale of love, loss, and redemption. It is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Was working on my Dark Shadows rewrite yesterday, here’s my draft-y thing

Our story begins when Victoria Winters comes to Collinwood to work for the mysterious Collins family. She meets the family, both dead and alive.

Shortly after her arrival, a body washes up on the shore of the cliff of widows hill and is identified to be that of Bill Malloy. Who Killed him? Matthew Morgan. He ends up dying of fright from seeing the ghosts of the widows after they torment him for his crimes.

David’s mother Laura returns to collinwood to take him away with her. David wants to go with her but his sixth sense puts him on edge around her. Turns out, she wants to sacrifice him to the sun god, Ra, whom she worships. The ghost of Josette DuPres helps Victoria to discover the true identity of Laura Collins the phoenix and saves David from a fiery death.

Jason McGuire returns to collinwood after 18 years demanding more money in payment for the secret he shares with Elizabeth Collins. It is revealed that Elizabeth killed him 18 years ago and his body is buried in the basement. Strike that, Paul Stoddard is still alive, and Jason helped him escape. Willie Loomis, looking for old jewels, opens the secret room that leads to the chained coffin of Barnabas Collins. He brings him back to Collinwood, where he is accepted into the family as a cousin from England. He takes up residence at the old house. Jason is run out of Collinwood and just as dusk falls, opens the coffin in the basement of the old house.

Barnabas kidnaps Maggie Evan’s and tries to brainwash her into thinking that she is Josette DuPres, his old fiancé. His plan doesn’t work, and she gets locked away in the basement of the old house. There, she meets Sarah Collins, the ghost of Barnabas’ little sister, who helps her escape. Maggie is taken to Windcliff, where she meets Dr.Julia Hoffman, who becomes fascinated with her predicament.

Eventually, Julia comes to collinwood under the pretense that it will help Maggie’s condition. She quickly learns about Barnabas’ secret and he threatens to kill her. She says she can cure him, and he begrudgingly lets her try. During this time, Victoria Winters becomes intimately acquainted with Burke Delvin, and they make plans to Marry. A seance is held, in an attempt to contact the spirit of Sarah Collins, who is the only person besides the shell shocked Maggie to know what happened to her.

During the seance, Victoria is transported back in time to 1795 to witness the events that took place there. She meets an eerily familiar Barnabas, as well as people who look very much like the ones she already knows back home. We then meet the witch Angelique, the woman behind all of the Collins family's misfortunes. She causes Josette (Josette’s character gets a major overhaul in this version) to marry Jeremiah, and the deaths of all of Barnabas’ family, save his father, niece and nephew. She also turns Barnabas into a vampire, and successfully lays a trap that leads the whole town to think that Victoria is the witch. She is sentenced to death, but as she is hanged, she gets sent back to the future. Her and Burke marry, and they then leave Collinsport. Before she leaves, Elizabeth finally reveals to her that she was her mother all along, and she will always have a home in Collinwood so she chooses to have it. Maggie Evans is hired as the new governess.

A man named Dr.Lang is able to successfully cure Barnabas, but in doing so he creates a human-like creature named Adam. Adam causes chaos, and demands for a mate to be made for him. Eve is then made, but she hates his guts and Adam ends up killing her. Adam, with the help of Professor Stokes, escapes Collinsport to live a normal life. Angelique, and her handler Nicholas Blair, set up shop in the house by the sea, and use Tom Jennings, who they turned into a vampire, to attempt to destroy the Collins family. Tom is staked through the heart.

Cassandra comes to Collinwood as Rodger’s new wife. She starts a dream curse to turn Barnabas back into a vampire.

Amy Jennings escapes Windcliff sanitarium and ends up wandering the grounds of Collinwood. Chris Jennings, prompted by his sister’s invitation to live at the big house, returns to Collinsport to keep an eye on her. Julia and Barnabas find out he’s the werewolf who’s been attacking people, and that his sister is also afflicted by the curse, however she is protected by a silver pentacle. Chris is allergic and can’t wear such a charm. Their brother, Tom, was unscathed by the curse, just like their grandmother. Julia and Barnabas promise to help cure them. Meanwhile, Amy and David find a walled off room, which they break into and discover the spirit phone. They meet the ghost of Quentin Collins. He bullies them into doing more and more heinous things, like poisoning Chris and killing an old woman. Eventually, Amy is fully possessed by Quentin, who threatens to kill her. Barnabas, determined to save Amy, uses I-Ching to go back to 1897 to find out how to stop Quentin.

Quentin is killed by Jenny, his wife, then resurrected by Angelique at the request of Barnabas. Quentin, in some form of retaliation, kills Jenny. Magda, the Romani woman, and Jenny’s sister, puts a curse on Quentin and all of his future children. Quentin then turns into the werewolf for the first time. Barnabas realizes he is the great grandfather of Chris and Amy, and the reason that they are both werewolves. This is also the reason he chose to possess Amy over David. Barnabas and Quentin bond over having to protect Jamison from his mother Laura. Charles Delaware Tate is then commissioned by Count Petofi to paint a portrait of Quentin, which acts like the Portrait of Dorian Grey, ceasing his transformations and making Quentin immortal. Beth attempts to kill Quentin, but is unsuccessful, negating the timeline and saving Amy. Petofi attempts to hijack the body of Quentin Collins but is unsuccessful. Julia is called back to 1969 by a voice, and Barnabas ends up back in 1795 after following Kitty Solmes there.

In 1795, Barnabas obtained the leviathan box and returned to present time with it. He initiates the Todd family, giving them the box that contains the leviathan child. Along the way he initiates several members of the Collins family, with only Maggie and Julia able to resist the box’s call. Jeb Hawkes, the leviathan child, grows up, but has second thoughts about taking over the world. Jeb is scared of werewolves, as they are one of the leviathan’s weaknesses. He finds out about Amy, living at Collinwood and makes moves to get rid of her. (He doesn’t know about Chris.) They end up fleeing Collinwood, taking Sabrina Stuart with them. Jeb ends up destroying the leviathan box and marrying Carolyn regularly. Angelique plots to destroy Jeb, as she blames him for the corruption of her husband Skylar Rumpson. He falls off Widows hill.

Barnabas discovers and becomes part of parallel time hoping to cure his vampirism that was returned upon his forfeiting of the leviathan box. In parallel time, Angelique dies, but is brought back by absorbing the life force of her twin sister Alexis. Barnabas discovers that a woman named Roxanne is fueling Angelique and goes to rescue her. Timothy Stokes, Angelique’s father, sets fire to collinwood in revenge for her final death. In the chaos, Barnabas and Angelique are transported to the future, 1995.

In 1995 they learn that a great evil befell Collinwood, killing everyone, but they can’t get anyone to tell them, and if they get close they get offed by a strange presence. They end up getting saved by the ghost of Hallie Stokes, and they escape back to 1970 through a staircase built by the first Quentin Collins. They then learn of Gerard Stiles, a ghost with an evilness never seen before at Collinwood. He plans to kill David and Hallie Stokes, who’s come to Collinwood after her parents died at her uncle's request. Events play out, with Barnabas and Julia unable to stop them. They escape again through the staircase, but this time to (non PT) 1840.

Julia is the only one who made it through, as Barnabas is missing. Julia gets an elderly Ben Stokes to help her free Barnabas from his coffin, but he is the old Barnabas. (For about 2 minutes). New Barnabas comes and takes his body back and everything is okay. Anyways- Desmond Collins returns to Collinwood with the head of the warlock Judah Zachary. Judah then possesses Gerard Styles, who frames Quentin for witchcraft. Quentin is set to be executed, but Angelique brings the head of Judah as proof to free Quentin, and both Angelique and Gerard die. Barnabas and Angelique having made up, with her freeing him from the curse willingly, he mourns her loss. Julia and Barnabas use the stairway once more, telling Desmond to destroy it once they’ve passed through. The story wraps up nicely, as they return to find things are as they were before the ghost of Gerard came to Collinwood.
