These days, more individuals are paying attention to what they put on their skin and how it may affect the environment. For that reason, sustainable beauty brands are gaining popularity. These brands are into natural ingredients, waste reduction, and products that are good for your skin and the Earth.
Here are five incredible, and truly sustainable beauty brands that are adored in Australia when it comes to clean, green products for skincare and makeup.

The brand produces its goods in small batches so that nothing goes to waste. Recyclable glass bottles and minimal packaging are also used.
Why we love it: It is natural and safe-for-sensitive skin.
2. Salt and Stone
Salt and Stone is best known for natural deodorants and reef-safe sunscreens. And even though it originated in California, Salt and Stone remains an Australian favorite with the beach and outdoors-loving crowd.
Salt and Stone uses solar energy to manufacture their products. The packaging consists of 100% recycled materials. All products are vegan and cruelty-free.
Why we love it: Great for active people who care about the planet.

Why we love it: Honest, effective, and kind to the Earth.
5. Kjaer Weis
Environmental consciousness places Kjaer Weis in the forefront of sustainable makeup brands. It offers luxury makeup in beautiful metal packaging, and the whole thing can be refilled, so there is less waste.

Why we adore it: High-fashion refillable makeup that's healthy for you and the planet.
Why Choose Sustainable Beauty Brands?
If you have something against sustainable beauty brands, your own war cry is: better health" for better environment." These brands use lesser harmful chemicals, lesser plastics, and better ingredients.
Remember, wherever possible, for your makeup needs, go for sustainable beauty. Most sustainable beauty products come with refillable packaging and organic formulas that are exceedingly gentle on the skin.

Natural Face Cleanser Rituals
This product does not contain ingredients which have been genetically modified. We independently evaluate all recommended products and services. If you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation. As with any new product, it is advised to perform a patch test to check for any potential irritation natural face cleanser.
To make this list, we choose face cleansers that have gentle formulations, ethically sourced plant-based ingredients, and contain minimal chemical irritants.
The reason for the high price tag includes multiple factors.
Everything I’ve tried from this brand is fantastic and very affordable for such a clean, natural skincare line.
Gently massage your face to get rid of any excess cleanser.
Research has shown that AHAs are effective in treating a wide range of skin conditions, including photoaging, acne and rosacea. Hopping in the shower isn't just about getting clean, it's also an opportune time to focus on overall skin health with a few skin-friendly habits. Systemic evening primrose oil improves the biophysical skin parameters of healthy adults.
*Josh Rosebrook – Complete Moisture Organic Cleanser ($
Being able to feel good about yourself, especially when looking at your face close up in Zoom meetings and FaceTime chats, is crucial. A great face wash can help you rid your skin of dirt, oil, sweat, and dead skin cells that have built up as your busy day goes on. But finding natural face washes that don't have harsh ingredients like parabens, phthalates, or fragrances that take a toll on your skin is also important.
Tumblr media
We love this lightly foaming cleanser because it removes makeup really well but doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight or dry after washing. Normal and combination types can generally find both non-foaming and foaming cleansers to be effective. Great ingredients for normal/combo skin include vitamin C , antioxidants , clays , and natural oils for moisture. This all-natural facial soap bar from Herbivore smells like a bouquet of roses and works like a charm. Each bar is made from clean ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, white clay, French pink clay, rose oil, and blood orange essential oil. The clays draw out impurities and stimulate cell turnover while the essential oils vitamin e cream relieve inflammation, hydrate, and kill bacteria.
8 DIY Scalp Scrubs To Make At Home For Healthy Hair & Scalp Because there are many natural ways of cleansing your skin to make it soft and smooth. 8 Amazing Benefits Of Alpha Hydroxy Acid For Your Skin Because there are many natural ways of cleansing your skin to make it soft and smooth. How To Do Double Cleansing For Clear And Glowing Skin Because there are many natural ways of cleansing your skin to make it soft and smooth.
A solid and affordable vegan face wash from Acure that's packed with natural and organic ingredients. Acure makes this list because of their affordable price point (typically less than $10) and clean ingredients. Their products aren't necessarily the "best" compared to many on this list, but they certainly are the "best" in their price range. Not to mention, this cleanser is pretty solid and gets the job done without being overly drying.
Most of all, their skin is left feeling soft, supple, and moisturized—without any dryness. The super-gentle, lotion-like formula is spiked with fatty alcohols that coat the skin to replace that typical post-cleanse tightness with skin-coddling goodness. "If you're not sure which cleanser to get, try this one," Dr. Turegano advises. The ingredients work double-time to wash away daily grime, reduce inflammation, and keep skin bright and dewy. Our dermatologist friends also name this bottle as one of the best face washes on the market.
Dead Sea mud soaks up impurities while the other 93% certified organic ingredients rejuvenate the skin. Good for normal, combination, and oily skin, the foaming gel cleanser removes grime, hydrates, and soothes. It brightens too, thanks to its hit of AHA exfoliation, and won’t strip your skin of moisture or alter its pH balance.
*Alteya Organics — USDA Organic Rose Oil Face Wash
However, a face wash is foamy and deeply cleanses your pores, while a cleanser has a creamy, gel, or watery texture that helps dissolve any excess grime or dirt from your face. Wet these soft Olay single-use cloths with water to cleanse, tone, and gently exfoliate in one swipe. These GH Beauty Award-winning and Seal star wipes are proven to effectively wash away even eye makeup without over-drying skin, Beauty Lab evaluation confirmed. Redness is no match for Dr. Jart+'s Cicapair Tiger Grass Enzyme Foam Cleanser. Cleansing is hardly the most glamorous step in a skin-care lineup, but in many ways, it's the most important — so we believe in using only the best face wash around. My favorite part of making my own skin care products is that it’s easy to customize your product according to your skin type.
A pleasantly invigorating face wash specifically designed for acne-prone skin, oily skin, and those with large pores. The soothing blend of tea tree oil, peppermint, and rosemary create a gentle cooling, tingling, and minty sensation that is sure to wake your skin up. Although it removes excess oil and grime, this wash also leaves your face feeling plump and moisturized. Cleanses, rejuvenates and balances formulated with plant-based hydrosol water. Organic pomegranate essential oil extract is an antioxidant and organic Propolis helps keep oily skin at bay. A few years ago, it was hard to find non-toxic skincare products.
Read real Grove member reviews on the products in this list to find out more about which face wash is best for you. Perfect for dry and sensitive skin, this oil is made with a blend of olive, castor, rosehip, and sunflower seed oils. Simply apply and it will melt into skin, makeup, and SPF to help rinse them off. Use it with one of theirmuslin clothsfor a little exfoliation.
Lack of synthetic products that are good for the skin
They’re just under $10 and contain nourishing Bentonite Clay, Saponified Oils of Sustainable Palm, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Milk Powder, Honey, and Shea Butter. If you don’t like “dry” soap bars, the Cleo & Coco Coconut Cleanse feels so nourishing – and they’re large. If you have normal skin, you will need 1 ½ teaspoon of castor oil. You will be mixing two different types of oils, so you will need something to hold them.
Many expensive skin products contain yeast, but you can easily make a DIY facial mask at home. Yes, rose water is considered a cleanser due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that protect the skin against free radicals and reduce acne , . Check out the infographic below for some natural cleansers that will leave your skin glowing and smooth. Chickpea flour has been traditionally used as a base for skin purifying face packs. The antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of turmeric powder can help lighten any dark spots on your face, boost acne treatment, and leave your skin feeling cleansed and fresh. Made with age-fighting ingredients like plant stem cells and peptides, Mary Kay’s cleanser, a GH Beauty Award winner and Good Housekeeping Seal star, does more than purify your complexion.
People consume antioxidants in food or may use antioxidant skin care products. This gentle cleanser removes impurities and dirt and gently exfoliates to minimize the appearance of pores. This balancing facial cleanser is anti-aging and evens out skin tone. It works on congested skin to smoothen rough skin and reduce breakouts. However, a 2020 review of studies found no link between lavender and tea tree essential oils and pediatric endocrine disorders. Natural face washes are either non-scented or mildly scented using natural fragrances.
It's made from 99.5% natural, 51% organic ingredients, and none of the bad stuff. This cleanser exfoliates with natural AHA/BHA fruit acids and then soothes and hydrates with aloe + coconut. One of the great things about this cleanser is that it really does a good job of removing makeup, dirt, and oil while leaving your skin feeling super soft. This USDA certified organic cleanser gets in deep to clear pores, kill bacteria, and soothe inflamed skin. Even though it contains a powerful dose of anti-bacterial tea tree oil, this cleanser is non-drying and won't strip your skin's natural oils.
youtube
Formulated to gently cleanse the skin -- and with nearly 800 positive reviews -- it's no wonder Simplified Skin's Vitamin C cleanser is one of our favorite affordable options. Packed with vitamin C, aloe vera, avocado oil, and vitamin B, it's an organic face wash that is gentle enough to remove makeup, but powerful enough to boost collagen and reduce redness. If when they’re free of synthetic perfumes, many face washes still have some kind of fragrance, often from plant-based ingredient.
Each type has pros and cons, and which one you choose depends on your preferences and needs. Natural cleansers can get a bad reputation for not actually cleansing your skin, but this pick from Pacifica Beauty proves that myth wrong. It can wash away even the toughest makeup in one rinse, sans scrubbing or double-cleansing—and without any harsh sulfates that can strip the skin, leaving it parched. Tata Harper dishes out some of the best natural beauty products we've used, and this cream cleanser is no exception. Ever the multitasker, it cleanses, clarifies, and tones the skin for flawless results. The product has been formulated with 100% organically sourced and/or certified organic ingredients.
Yes, honey is a good cleanser for all skin types, as stated in the article. To clean off makeup, simply put a few drops of the oil onto a cotton ball or cotton round. Rinse your face using warm water, then follow up with moisturizer and toner. If you enjoy a scented cleanser, this one will be your next favorite. A blend of jasmine, neroli, and rose gives a calming scent, perfect for a few moments of mindfulness at the end of your day.
This gentle, lightly-foaming cleanser—with an ingredient list that reads like a Whole Foods receipt—is great for all skin types. Many people use them interchangeably with facial cleansers. Although both clean the skin, facial cleansers have a creamy, gel-like texture.
At Grove, we take the guesswork out of which products are good for you and your home. Every product meets strict standards for being nontoxic, effective, sustainable, and cruelty-free. Once you find products you love, we ship to your home on a flexible, monthly schedule. This list of products was determined by ratings and reviews from Grove members. We carefully vet all products and services featured on mindbodygreen using our commerce guidelines.
A beauty routine that protects your skin and the environment is indeed the best way to get healthy and glowing skin. So go on, start using one of these natural cleansers and save both your face and the planet at the same time. Savor Beauty’s natural skincare is inspired by Korean self-care rituals. Handmade in small batches, all its products are made with certified organic ingredients. The cleanser is made using two premiere ingredients that do a fantastic job of cleaning your face and leaving it feeling luxurious. Camellia is rich in Omega 6 and antioxidants while rose helps soothe and improve irritated and dull skin.
Not a huge fan of the scent, but I do like the way this cleanser feels. It comes out runny and feels very light and hydrating on my skin. Surprisingly, the AHA Jelly Cleanser can take off my full face of sunscreen and makeup well. Skin feels toned after and maybe a little bit tight for my dry skin, but that’s quickly resolved with all the hydration I add back to my skin after anyways.

Labor Day Weekend Essentials
Labor Day Weekend Essentials
Tumblr media
When I was a kid, the end of summer was the saddest time of the year for me as it meant going from carefree days filled with travel to going back to school. Now, as a grown-up, I relish in this time of year when I know the weather is going to hit that sweet spot between hot and cold, and New York feels “alive” again. This Labor Day weekend, I’m gleefully bringing the sweaters and coats out from…

My thoughts on perfumes
My thoughts on perfumes
What are natural perfumes? The ingredients of natural perfumes do not contain any synthetic fragrances and chemicals which are harmful to your health. The only ingredients in natural perfumes are the ones derived from plants using distillation, expression or extraction. Natural fragrances are complex compositions of natural raw materials (e.g. essential oils, isolates, fractions of essential…

Why Organic Skin Care is Booming in Melbourne: A Local Beauty Revolution
Tumblr media
Melbourne isn’t just Australia’s cultural capital — it’s also becoming a global hub for conscious, clean living. At the forefront of this shift? A booming demand for organic skin care. Melburnians are saying goodbye to harsh chemicals and hello to nature-powered beauty — creating a local revolution rooted in wellness, sustainability and transparency. If you’ve been thinking of switching to organic beauty products or just want to know why this trend is hot, here’s what’s behind Melbourne’s clean beauty movement — and the brands leading the charge.
1. Clean & Conscious Beauty in Melbourne
From Fitzroy to South Yarra, clean beauty isn’t just a trend — it’s a lifestyle. Melburnians are more aware than ever of what’s in their skincare and prefer clean beauty products that are free from synthetic fragrances, sulfates, parabens and other nasties. The shift to natural beauty care is part of a broader cultural shift. As more people are seeking wellness-driven, holistic living, skin care has followed suit — with transparency and purity at the top of the list.
 2. Climate-Driven Skincare: Why Nature Works for Melbourne Skin
Melbourne’s crazy weather — from dry heat to windy cold — is brutal on the skin. Locals are turning to natural and organic skincare that soothes, hydrates and protects without irritating. Products packed with plant-based oils, hydrosols and antioxidants provide relief from environmental stressors while gentle formulas respect the skin’s barriers.
It’s this climate-conscious approach that makes organic skin care in Melbourne more than a luxury — it’s a necessity.
3. Boutique Brands Leading the Organic Beauty Charge
Melbourne’s skincare shelves are now filled with thoughtfully curated products from around the globe — and boutique organic brands are stealing the spotlight. These brands are committed to natural skincare online and in-store, combining potent botanicals with clinical performance.
Some must-try clean beauty champions include:
Sodashi Skincare – A luxe Australian brand known for high-performance organic formulations.
OSEA – Ocean-inspired, vegan skincare with seaweed-rich formulas that nourish deeply.
Josh Rosebrook – Where herbal alchemy meets science-backed results.
MV Skintherapy – A Melbourne-founded line with cult-favorite facial oils and masks.
The Beauty Chef – Pioneers of inner beauty powders and supplements for glowing skin from within.
Furtuna Skin – Biodynamic skincare from Sicily, now a favorite among conscious Melburnians.
Each of these brands offers clean, conscious formulations that align with the growing local demand for purity, performance, and sustainability.
4. Accessibility is Easier Than Ever with Natural Skincare Online
Thanks to the boom in natural skincare online, accessing organic products has never been easier. Melbourne shoppers can now explore a curated world of natural and clean beauty from the comfort of their homes — with trusted online retailers offering fast local shipping and expert recommendations.
Boutiques like Provider Store and specialty sites stock a range of products that make switching to organic beauty products seamless and exciting.
5. A Sustainable Future Led by Beauty Rebels
More than just skin deep, the organic skincare movement in Melbourne is rooted in sustainability. Shoppers are choosing clean beauty products that use recyclable packaging, cruelty-free ingredients, and ethical supply chains.
Brands like Abel Organics Perfume, The Kind Sunscreen, and LastObject are helping Melburnians reduce their beauty footprint — proving that being kind to your skin and the planet go hand-in-hand.
Final Thoughts
Melbourne is really living its values when it comes to health, sustainability and mindful living. That's why organic skin care has become an easy fit with the lifestyle here. Innovative brands, changing routines and a thriving community of like-minded people are all part of what makes this city a leader in clean beauty. When you browse natural skincare online or shop local, one thing is clear: the organic beauty revolution is here-and Melbourne is driving it.
You can find a curated selection of the world's best organic skin care, wellness and lifestyle products at The Lab Organics. Based right here in Melbourne, The Lab is where you'll find the clean beauty products, expert advice and the things you need to live more consciously—both in-store and online.
Your skin deserves something truly pure. Treat it to that.

THE ESSENTIAL FACE MISTS
THE ESSENTIAL FACE MISTS
One of our favorite skin care staples at the GW office is the face mist. It’s instantly cooling, refreshing and hydrating. Sure, some people might swear face mists as an superfluous step centered upon what amounts to be over-priced water, however there are active and specialized mists that do a whole lot more. The best mists are made from organic, botanically based ingredients called hydrosols,…

Wondering what’s the difference between Suntegrity 5in1 Tinted Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 30 and Impeccable Skin SPF 30, and which is best suited for you? ・ ★ Both are mineral broad spectrum sun protection, unscented, essential oil-free, made with 20% non-nano zinc oxide, and reef safe. ・ The big difference between the two: ・ ★ Suntegrity 5in1 Tinted Sunscreen Moisturizer: - Tinted sunscreen moisturizer that blends into skin and evens out skin tone, no white cast. - Available in 4 shades. - Coverage is sheer, for optimal sun protection you can apply a generous amount without it being noticeable on your skin (I use 3-4 pumps on my face & neck). - It’s very moisturizing, plumps skin, smoothes texture and pores, and has a dewy finish. - Can be used in place of a moisturizer, or on top. - Suitable for all skin types but if your skin is oily, you might find it too rich/emollient. Suntegrity Impeccable Skin or Pressed Mineral Powder Compact SPF 50 could be a better option. ・ ★ Suntegrity Impeccable Skin: - Light to medium coverage sunscreen foundation. - It evens out skin tone, disguises imperfections, smoothes texture and pores, has a skin-perfecting satiny finish (not as dewy as Suntegrity 5in1). - Available in 6 shades. - Oil-free, silicone-free, yet still very hydrating. - Formulated with peptides, vitamin c and hyaluronic acid to keep skin plumped, radiant and smooth. - Most people use foundation quite sparingly. If that’s the case, you’ll probably want to use an additional sunscreen underneath when spending time outdoors to ensure you’re getting adequate sun protection (I use Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream SPF 30 or Suntegrity Face Sunscreen & Primer SPF 30 under Impeccable Skin). - Suitable for all skin types. ・ ❤️I love both products. Impeccable Skin I use when I want my skin to look good (it really does make your skin look impeccable). 5in1 Tinted I use more regularly in my daily life because it’s a great moisturizer and I can really load it on my skin for reliable sun protection. To me both products are more than sunscreen, they keep my skin hydrated, balanced and radiant. ・ Tap for more info and shop Suntegrity at www.inspirebeautyshop.com https://www.instagram.com/p/CbylkwwvEYg/?utm_medium=tumblr

Organic Natural Sunscreens, what is SPF?
Organic Natural Sunscreens, what is SPF?
