Okay but HEAR ME OUTTT: Ezra’s sister x Glory’s ex, BNP. The Drama; The adorable sapphic family potential.

THAT WOULD BE CRAZYYYY and also super funny. cuz like, ezra's sis (who for now i've decided to name elaine) is just a regular lady in her 30s; it would be so funny if she just randomly pulled a whole princess while glezra were busy worrying about their mission and relationship drama. and also i wanted elaine to have a claire-from-fleabag-esque arc where she leaves her shitty husband and finds a better relationship with someone else, so it's actually kinda convenient if that person ended up being BNP. not to mention all the shenanigans that might happen at christmas dinner or something. Your brain is so big!!!

(Okay so I know I’m terrible at actually responding to your answers to these, but just know I really do enjoy reading them!!)
I know you make a lot of Pinterest boards, and often post pictures saying stuff like “The people from [one of your stories’ worlds/countries/etc] would wear this” do you have any place’s traditional/current popular fashion style mapped out in your head any? Also given any thought to hairstyles or jewelry maybe? 👀
OMG HIIIIIII I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS! :O
And yes, i absolutely have specific ideas for AWIA stuff especially, just bc the different styles is important for worldbuilding and character design especially. for instance:
ANDANTHE
Andanthe's clothing is largely inspired by South Asian (and sometimes Middle Eastern) fashion, particularly in places like India, Pakistan, Palestine, et cetera, but with a minor twist bc andanthe is set in a more deciduous, foresty-new-england type area. Andanthe's national color is vivid green, so Andanthian royalty in particular wear a lot of green, which can be dyed with dandelions and other natural dyeing materials (and gold is prevalent too, bc well. royalty.)
So what i mean when i say Andanthian fashion is South Asian inspired is the emphasis on flow, layered fabric, and printed patterns-- e.g., this goooooorgeous look from Vogue India fashion week (2016)-- the nice, rustic yet earthy color tones, the regality of the fabric and its swish, the way the outer covering of the garment alludes to a sari and really shows off detailed patterning in terms of print. so yummy.
(Small note tho, it's important that Andanthe has quite lush and vibrant use of color in their fashion, because the kingdom of ilwich also has a thing for green.)
keep in mind though that despite this, Andanthian fashion is also a bit... utilitarian. there's the natural form and silhouette of the fabric, but there's also the sharper edges that leave little show of frivolousness. the high, conservative yet elaborate collar, the nice fancy but straightforward belt. like it's pretty, but it's cool. and especially for characters like morgan, who prefers more masculine clothing to anything else, this kind of rigidity benefits her style. like "yeah bitch, we could totally beat your ass in battle. but also we got that shit on." see below for reference example.
THE ANWHINES
Okay so one thing about the anwhines is that like andanthe they like straight lines and silhouettes that have a little flow, but unlike andanthe, they don't prioritize layering lavish fabric. they do absolutely love working with geometric shapes. see below: the lovely rectangular box of the overcoat and the linear shape created by the straight dress. another BIG important thing is bold geometric patterns-- because as you can probably guess, alot of the Anwhine inspiration comes from West African culture and Caribbean culture. it's no less intricate than andanthe's, but definitely less dainty. also very yummy.
Another important thing to know about the anwhines is that their national color is blue. there's the nice, easy-going cerulean blue that alludes to their lovely and idyllic oceans, but also a dark and no-nonsense navy blue usually worn by royalty. white accents, like cotton/linen lace or collaring, is also common.
there is also an important accent of white pearl and shell used in their fashion, because well. why wouldn't you make shell and pearl jewelry if you're a nation comprised of isles floating around in the sea? it's too easy. they don't mind gold bangles or wooden hair accessories either tho. Also, clay, because clay beads are fun! and because i love Black hair and all the pretty stuff you can do with it, having pretty jewelry in your hair is heavily important. see below for examples.
MONERVA
okay, i'll be honest, monerva's cultural fashion is a lot less real-world specific and a bit more eclectic. it's for a reason, tho; i mean, neither andanthe or the anwhines are homogenous cultures by any means, but monerva is very forward thinking and focused on trendiness and innovations. which means they do whatever the fuck they want and can be inspired by any number of cultures, because it depends on personal style. monervians in general are very focused on looking cunt and showing off. as they should!! so if you're planning on inviting a monervian to your party, expect them to show up to the function in some shit like this.
monervians looooove lace, linen, and the very regal yet soft white that those materials bring to the table. they love frills, folds, ruffles, and massive silhouettes--and extra points are given if it's constructed in a way no one's ever thought of before. in terms of colors, monervians love light and frivolous pastels (pinks, lavenders, blues). they live in what you might traditionally imagine a fairy kingdom to reside--that is to say, a lavish and disorienting colorful forest glade-- so they use flower and plant-based dyes and incorporate flowery embroidery int their lacing and patterning (see below). unlike the last two kingdoms, there's less of an emphasis on printed patterns on clothes unless it's a personal style thing. and in terms of jewelry, they love precious stones, crystals, and mineral pieces. bonus points if they're shiny and a little gaudy.
ILWICH
Out of all the kingdoms in this story, (there are more than 4, i'm just too lazy to put them here) Ilwich is the one that looks the most medieval like. I mean, the world of awia is a little anachronistic because fuck it i do what i want, but the idea is that the aesthetic dances loosely with medieval era technology, foods, clothing. ilwich though, is the most closely tied to that medieval eastern europe aesthetic. they, as i mentioned earlier, have a penchant for green like andanthe, but because ilwich is located in marshy wetlands and deep underground castles carved near and underneath mangrove-like trees, their colors reflect the more dull nature of their surroundings.
Another important thing about ilwich-- they are a culture that is very closely tied to the worship and mythos of the old dead gods. i might have mentioned that the pantheon that existed before the concrete memory of fairies had ever been formed kinda cannibalized each other to extinction. the link between the gods and fairies is caput. Mostly. but some remnants of the old religion remain, and many of it is guarded by ilwich acolytes that chill around in the catacombs. to reflect this, ilwich garb happens to be more simple and more pious: simple linen or wool fabrics, with little excess or bright, printed fabric. don't mistake less simple with boring, though; what they lack in pattern and emroidery, they make up for in layering. due to it's marshy background, ilwich loves dark greens and blacks, dull sages, rustic browns, and dusty off whites. However, some nobility/royalty add a bit more flair; case in point:
like monerva, they like using nature-y elements in clothes, but rather than mimicking bright, lush flowers, ilwich mimics decaying leaves, cobwebs, and dark moss. cosmo sheldrake would love these weirdos.
and another thing: because the marshlands are typically chilly and much of ilwich is underground, ilwich fashion includes many layers and furs. Again, a lot of browns and off white furs are preferred.
Anyways! rant over. hope that answered some of your questions :D

so I’ve been thinking about Awia recently cause I was listening to Ptolemaea, and I was wondering if you’ve decided who Morgan’ll kill when Wrath possesses her the first time? Is it someone she knows or are you gonna make it like a random person that just ticks Wrath off? ^-^
YESS okay so. The people she kills are people no one will remember most likely, which as sick as it sounds is good for Morgan bc she wants to keep her murder demon as secret as possible. The idea I'm working with rn is 2 petty thieves who attempt to attack and mug another innocent person while Morgan is visiting monarchs in another kingdom. Again, hard to connect bc it didn't even happen in her territory. But yeah, Morgan (unpossessed) attempts to stop it, but one thief slips away and the other berates her for war reasons (by "war reasons, i mean Paladis' war). The kingdom she visits, in general, does not hold high regard for andanthe royalty, so their meetup was something of a peacekeeping publicity thing.
Having much guilt over her father's actions, as usual, this confrontation distresses Morgan. Distress for her is not good, because as she soon discovers, it's easier for wrath to take over when she's not fully focused and in control of her own psyche.
Wrath had been boiling over the confrontation the whole day because not only did Morgan "let" the other thief get away, she also did nothing as a criminal berated her for her father's actions. (Which btw, wrath does not condemn. So basically in his mind, his beliefs were also condemned and he is not one to take criticism lightly.)
So that night, Morgan has a "dream" that a demonic man had led her through the streets and held her hand as he murdered the two thieves, when in reality Wrath had hijacked her body and hunted them down himself. As you can expect, when Morgan finds herself back in her hotel room covered in blood and viscera, she becomes extremely frightened and concerned.

okay i'm gonna explain some Wrath lore because i love that scary freak son of a bitch. so basically, he's the god of war, and is as old as time and shit. long ago, there was a pantheon of old gods who ruled a world filled with magic--more magic than what can be seen in the current fairy world. (which btw i have not found a name for yet. we'll figure that out idk.) but anyway. wrath was a massive fucking troublemaker and killed the inhabitants of the planets hundreds of times over by inciting wars. the other gods were not cool with this and got fed up. they eventually banished him, stripping him of a corporeal form and trapping his soul inside a magic sword. he is trapped in there for millennia, cursed to watch idly as the world changed beyond his understanding, and without his influence. naturally, he grew unbelievably bitter, and his bloodlust only increased within his prison.
eventually, two dumbasses come along. these dumbasses happen to be paladis, the king of andanthe, and hayebim's dad. (i have not thought of a name for hayebim's dad yet.) they were in search of a weapon of unimaginable power, not realizing that the weapon they were seeking was the prison of an ancient god. long story short, they accidentally released Wrath upon the earth. but with no corporeal form, Wrath essentially stumbled his way into a random body, which just so happened to be morgan's. oops.
so basically morgan and Wrath are bonded by weird fucked up magic and unless morgan wants to be forced to kill at Wrath's every whim, she needs to figure out how to use magic to get rid of him. oh, and killing morgan also kills Wrath, which he discovered early on in their bond. yeah, he tried to kill her. she doesn't remember it tho, she was like 7. but like still. not great

twitter is going to hell. i have no choice but to use tumblr as an archive (part 1)
a series of screenshots of every silly oc idea i decided to tweet about. this particular post archives such posts relating to my story "a wickedness in andanthe" aka "awia". in no particular order.
these were tweets regarding my oc althea in formal event wear.
self explanatory, but here are musings about morgan and althea's makeup tastes.
more stuff about morgan formal fashion.
stuff about the main character quest trio/quartet, consisting of morgan, althea, hayebim, and the war god if you squint!
more random outfit inspo
morgan and the war god's dynamic makes me crazy.
morthea rambles. i'm actually REALLY normal about these two.
more stuff about morthea and hayebim's dynamic.
althea fun facts!
morthea are my gay sillies.
Me yelling at my moot about the plot of awia part 1. disclaimer that much of the plot has been changed since then but i don't feel like elaborating which parts.
me yelling at my moot about the plot of awia part2.
me yelling at my moot about the plot of awia part 3.
some rambles about a slightly newer character, arwileth.
some rambles about kingdom worldbuilding.
ANYWAYS. this is all i found. i'm sure there's more but i mean i have a whole google doc about them too so i could bear to not include a silly tweet or two.
#jrheathoughts#oc stuff#jrheatriz.awia#jrheatriz.ocs#original character#fuck elon musk for making me have to do this

Does Glory make her own clothes or does she have some clothes tailor guy (gender neutral) that she knows. ALSO what kind of clothes does she wear? :3
glory makes a lot of her own clothes, and if she doesn't make it from scratch, she'll modify something she'll find at a market or thrift store. (glory does a lot of undercover shopping to stock up at her secret hideout ((read: shitty nondescript apartment)), and so if she stumbles upon a shirt she thinks would be good to cut up and make cooler she'll take it.) glory would NOT like to rely on another person to help with her personal wardrobe because that's her thing (<- special interest) and also because she'd be an utter menace to work with. like imagine if she spent all this time developing and sending a design to a tailor, and then the piece comes back and the hem is just a centimeter too short. EW??? she'd rather just do it herself.
As for the second question (rubs my hands together like an evil fly), glory's taste in clothing generally has two modes--
her assassin type outfits, which always black with pink accents, and usually are a bit more masc/androgenous. A lot of her designs are based off of formal suits and sleek menswear because for one: i think it looks sexy and cool, and for another: not appearing as a specific gender and deliberately hiding any identifiable attributes is important if you don't want to get caught by your enemies. there's a lot of leather involved because like me, glory enjoys a bit of camp. glory's very long and tall physically, so having a long trench coat and broad shoulder pads make her a lot more intimidating. the all black suit isn't just sleek and super rad, it's also good for sneaking on a nighttime mission or just if she wants to pull up to a gun fight looking like batman. the pink accents are there because glory really likes pink. here are some inspo pics i have from pinterest:
(imagine this one below is black and had a more opaque design on the chest. glory might've kept it as is if there wasn't the annoying issue of some guy just deciding to shoot her in the chest or something.)
(in my head, wisdom kaye and glory have similar ideas about making black outfits look as raw as humanly possible. see below.)
2. Okay in terms of glory's casual and more domestic style, there's less need to look raw and scary and she gives herself more freedom to experiment with color. there will still definitely be a lot of pink because glory adores pink. glory is also fond of punk and afropunk styles (especially ones you might have seen in the 70s), so she's down with a spikes leather jacket and eclectic fabric and patterns all over her clothes. see examples below.
HOWEVER. if we're getting even more casual, because sometimes spiky clothing is too much prep to get into, she'll go for more casual flare/bellbottom jeans and a short top. very cutesy, with the plus of generally not being that uncomfortable. made with simple fabrics like cotton, polyester, and just yk. stuff you'd find at a thrift shop or department store if you were so moved. a lot of this style is inspired by vintage clothing black women would wear in the 70s, because well. glory is a black woman and lives a a 70s-ish world with future aesthetics. not complicated at all. here's some examples below:
And finally, because i love black hair accessories, here's some beaded hairstyles that glory would love! having beads in her hair is a very trademark glory thing, because beads are fun and cute and glory is too miserable all the time to not allow herself the happiness of having cute pretty beads as accessories. sue her if you think it's impractical.
and uhhh yeah that's it i think! i might throw in that glory starts experimenting with other fashion aesthetics once her murderous enemies stop breathing down her neck, but that's to be decided.

Ooh now I’m thinking about how much both Glory and Ezra being undiagnosed Autistics could add layers to their bond and just overall Understanding of each other
there's definitely an important part of their relationship that has to do with neurodivergence! they both struggle with being out of place in the world, though admittedly ezra's struggles are a bit less extreme than his assassin gf's is. they find a lot of solace and comfort in being able to talk and relate to one another :3

“but anyways for ezra, this is like the first job he's been fairly steady for cuz he really sucks at holding them down” Undiagnosed Autistic Ezra perchance? The only job he’s been steady in having minimal social interaction and is mostly about graphs and paperwork… I know what you(Ezra) are 👀 /pos
adhd ezra is super real, and most of his investment in keeping the boring paperwork job is his hyperfix sidequest of solving the Mystery™️ happening in the basement and fulfilling his weirdly specific dreams of super-spy espionage. however i see and hear you, and i am the god of this world. i'm hitting him with the audhd beam!!

Got any more lore on the Glezra world? 👀 I know about Glory, Ezra, the instructer guy, and the assassin that Ezra had a crush on, but have you come up with any other characters for that world? Alsoo what office was Ezra working at? I know it’s set in a 70s noir sort of aesthetic thingy so I was thinking news paper vibes for him, but I realized I don’t think you’ve mentioned what he did specifically before getting caught up in all the spy stuff haha. Ooh also does Glory have like a specialty as a spy? Like is she really good at languages or a certain weapon? Gimme all the deats!!
shout out to melancholy once again for answering my prayers and rescuing me from the psychological torture house (not having attention) all day 😭
EXTRA CHARACTERS:
okay okay so. There aren't many characters other than the ones you listed because 1) i am a little lazy and 2) the story mostly revolves around glezra forming a companionship due to being stuck as roommates. HOWEVER there are other characters, i just need to flesh them out more. For instance, there is ezra's older sister and her baby, who i think will play a bigger part in the story once glory and ezra have more freedom to leave the apartment later in the story (i have long since decided that the aftermath of killing the instructor dude will be the preface for glezra to like. figure out how they actually feel about each other and what to do about it). both ezra and his older sister have the fact that they are in desperate need of a higher purpose, which ezra seeks out in the form of trying out espionage (and almost getting himself killed) and ezra's sister seeks out in the form of trying to be the perfect mother of her own family. both of them are not really satisfied at all, but from their family's perspective ezra's sister is far more successful than their kinda-loser son. oh well.
The next most fleshed out (but not that much) character is glezra's ex, whom glory seduced when she was on a mission when glory was still erm. employed by her old boss. i haven't decided on a name for this character yet, all i know is that they are a beautiful nonbinary princess bc i really wanted to have a beautiful nonbinary princess character (i will be calling them BNP for the purposes of this post). anyways for the mission glory had to get close to them to gather info on their father, and the bad part is that the two actually fell in love, but at the end of the day glory was on a job and was forced to leave when her mission was over. The REALLY bad part is that glory was terrified to let them go and waited til the last minute to choose between BNP or her assassin life, and so the day she ended up deciding to leave was their wedding day. TERRIBLE MOVE. glory literally was the gf BNP had at 19 that ruined their life. glory beats herself about it Still and she's literally 30. it's probably high on her list of the shittiest things she's ever done and as you know, glory's straight up murdered a ton of guys. it was truly that bad. anyways i have plans for them to meet in the future, but by that point BNP is over the fuckery and got themselves married to someone who didn't leave her alone at the altar. good for them!
EZRA'S JOB:
so the deal with ezra is that he thought he was working a normal desk job--and i mean technically it was-- but it had also been a front for the organization glory used to work for. he's just doing cubicle desk shit like data collection and looking at boring graphs. it's the very cheesy trope equivalent of like, working at a fast food restaurant and then it turns out there's a secret culty fighting ring happening below deck and the restaurant is just a cover for tax benefits. (i get to be a little more absurd with the premises of this story bc technically it's a futuristic noir spy-dramedy and very unserious.) but anyways for ezra, this is like the first job he's been fairly steady for cuz he really sucks at holding them down--this is cause for contention with his family and a main part of why they think he's a disappointing loser. so 3 months into having the job, ezra does the previously mentioned trope of like, stumbling into the basement of the fast food restaurant and getting a glimpse of a super secret cult secrets happening unbeknownst to the public, and instead of taking this as a red flag and dipping or just ignoring it to secure a bag, ezra decides to do some snooping. as you can probably guess, it was a bad idea, and he quickly finds out that some of the guys who work at HR literally do not gaf about killing his ass if he accidentally finds info they don't want regular people to know about. oops!
GLORY'S FIGHTING:
because glory was trained basically since birth to become an assassin, she's well versed in most weaponry. i mean, she probably wouldn't pull out an ax from her spy kit and try to whack you with it, but most other things are fair game. in particular though, and for convenience, her go-to fighting weapons are her dual-wield guns, her confusingly large array of daggers, and also hand-to-hand combat, which is basically a weapon in and of itself. and also, strangely, her "murder knife", which is just a really gnarly and unnecessarily scary looking knife that is solely for threatening people. i will be using this knife in the story mainly for joke purposes. and finally there is the age old weapon of using your environment. see a trashcan lid? hit a guy with it! that fancy vase? smash it over some guy's head! that conveniently placed yet seemingly innocuous bottle of ketchup? figure it out and get creative! the possibilities are endless!! (<- will also definitely be utilized for comedy purposes.)
aside from physical weapons in her arsenal, there are her traditional spy talents of speaking many languages and being very good at blending into situations. alot of this has to do with an obscene amount of prep that she does before each mission in the event of any hiccups. she also gets very upset of things get off plan, which sometimes they do and sometimes it's ezra's fault. (glory has undiagnosed autism and anxiety but she can't worry about that cuz she has a job to do. we'll put getting an evaluation on the back burner for now.) one super specific skill that puts her apart from most of the other assassins in the story is that she's also a fashionista, so not only will she beat your ass in battle, she'll beat your ass in a custom-made, perfectly tailored, mega fierce outfit. because what's the point of having a story set in a futuristic 70s aesthetic world if the characters can't look cunt?

obsessed with the fact that wrath attempted to kill morgan as a child to free himself from her mortal body, realizing that wouldn't work unless he wanted to kill himself in the process, eventually revealing that to morgan and telling her to get over it when she freaks out about him trying to kill her as a child. the fucking freak

ooh also I’ve been meaning to ask about Althea (is that a hard Th or a soft one?) too! Ik she’s like tenth in line for the thrown for her kingdom and she’s exes with Morgan but still in love with her, and that’s about it. How did she and Morgan meet? Why did they break up? Tell me everything!!
so althea is pronounced "Ahl-THEE-uh" with a soft "th". She and Morgan were childhood friends who grew up together due to their parents' close allyship with each other.
Morgan and althea had very different childhoods despite this, as Morgan was a beloved firstborn heir to her kingdom and althea was essentially the runt of their respective royal litter. Althea always felt more at home in andanthe because that's where Morgan was, and her family, despite loving her, didn't treat her with nearly as much attention.
Morgan kind of always had an obnoxious crush on althea since they were little, but althea took a little bit longer to clock in on the fact that their best and only friend was pathetically head over heels in love with them. (She has self esteem and self image issues due to her family's lack of attention.) Once she did finally figure out "OHH this girl is like fr fr in love with me" she felt safer in exploring her own feelings toward Morgan. Spoiler alert: it does not take long for her to realize she might have had a little crush herself that she refused to acknowledge due to fear of rejection.
So in their mid teens, the two finally confess to each other and start dating soon after. Not long after that, they both begin training under Morgan's father in preparation for Morgan becoming king of andanthe (which was supposed to be WAYY in the future. As u may know, due to Paladis' death in the war it was not in fact Wayy in the future.
after the war, Morgan is forced to take on her father's duty as king with help from her mother. Althea is swiftly shipped back to the Anwhines to heal from thier wounds under the close watch of thier family. Due to the severity of thier injuries, however, althea is hardly ever let out of hospice in her castle quarters; likewise, due to the king-sized heap of responsibility and duty that comes with being the new leader of a whole country, Morgan has zero time to herself, nevermind visit her amputee gf in a whole other country. They send each other letters, but that doesn't do much to patch the rift between them.
A year and a half later, althea finally is well enough to visit Andanthe, and Morgan, while under extreme stress due to some political stuff she had to deal with, is still ecstatic to see her. Unfortunately, their meetup is very brief.
In the middle of their reunion, althea admits that their surprise visit was because her family was sending her to a physical therapist far away, and that this was the last time they'd be able to see each other for a long time. Almost immediately after that, Morgan's mom rushes in frantically demanding to know why Morgan was here instead of with the council, where a dispute had broke out and Morgan had not been there to represent her own kingdom. (Mom is immediately understanding once she realized althea was there and that was why, but the damage had already been done. )
Althea finally decides that with her leaving the region and Morgan endangering her position on the council just to see her, that their relationship just wasn't sustainable and they'd cause more damage to each other if they try clinging onto it. Morgan is heartbroken at the suggestion, but she can't disagree with the fact that she wasn't able to balance being king and being althea's gf. Both althea and Morgan love each other, but it just wasn't going to work and they were hurting each other more by trying to ignore their respective issues.
So that night they break up and exchange tearful goodbyes. Morgan scrambles back to the council to resolve the dispute and althea goes on a ship to her new home in another kingdom to relearn how to walk and heal and whatnot.
As u may know, Morgan doesn't see althea again until 5-6 years later, a week before Morgan is officially coronated as king.
And yeah! That's the morthea break up story ^-^
