Queer people who shouldn't be known by society for their safety,, having to keep Soda a secret from the other vampires as much as he can so theyre not killed for breaking the masquerade,,, the arms-length distance and the longing that saturates their entire relationship dynamic,, AOUGH

Emizel and Soda both being out of their depth in vampire society - Emizel being brand new and struggling to learn the rules and climb the ranks and learning more from fucking up than he's learning from Arthur, and Soda desperately wanting to help and be involved in Emizel's new unlife but being left in the dark no matter how much he reaches out end encourages and reassures Emizel. GODS when i added this it was mostly soda about emizel, wanting to be let in wanting to help but Emizel's still got walls up that seem more habit than any conscious effort to keep Soda back and AOUGH the "and you sicken the tone with where you've been" in reference to Emizel staying out late and coming back covered in blood all the time BUT NOW with soda's current arc the last four lines could easily be emizel desperately wanting to be there for soda but he's incapable of staying during the day and at night theres a level of sneaking around so the vampires dont know hes broken the masquerade and "you sicken the tone with where you've been" in reference to sodas rapid decline and struggle and "i dont really know what to say to you - you seem like a different person" CAN YOU HEAR ME

YOU KNOW WHY. YOU KNOW WHY. "just hold me close and hope that they dont see my face" with soda and emizel clinging to each other in their time of need but emizel needs to keep soda a secret from the vampires. and then "lets see how you taste / then just hold me close" and their bonding moment of drinking each others blood you get it you get it

thinking about soda trying to adjust to emizel's strange new schedule, thinking about him struggling to stay awake at night, thinking about him dozing off by emi's side as he stares at the pulse beating steadily in soda's neck and thinks about how easy it would be to just sink his teeth into it. or to have soda join him in this new and terrifying undeath so he will never have to let him go. thinking of emizel wondering if preserving soda's humanity is worth it. emizel wants to kiss him. he fears his teeth will cut his lips.
