everyone i have to make an announcement. a while ago i made a post about how in some versions of blood money judas sings 'i don't want your blood money/i don't need your blood money' and in some versions the order is reversed. and i said in that post that i much preferred the order to be need -> want because that is the logical order of refusal, a 'no you don't need to do that' to 'no i don't WANT you to do that'

well i must issue a formal apology. i was wrong. the more-common want -> need order has been growing on me. it's not a logical situation. the 'want' response is of course more emotional, so of course it makes sense to come first. the knee jerk reaction of NO IM NOT DOING THIS FOR MONEY. and then as they try to convince him the more considered 'i don't need it' as he processes it a bit more and is back to trying to convince himself that yes he definitely is doing it for moral and logical reasons. it does actually kind of make more sense that way.

ooh so many things! in the abstract sense i'm learning to live out of home! in a more solid sense, i was reading this chapter of "purity and danger: an analysis of the concepts o pollution and taboo" yesterday that was talking about bodies as symbolic of boundaries which are symbolic in their own sense and there was a lot in that which was really fascinating to learn about !
