I've just realized that I've really never posted about I'll Give You the Sun. It's so beautiful and heartbreaking. I have never read anything like it before, and I doubt that I ever will. I picked it up thinking that it was going to be a cute coming-of-age story - something light and fun and humorous. That book tore me apart. There's this one line that I literally just posted about, but "(SELF-PORTRAIT: Boy Remakes World Before World Remakes Boy) is so fucking sad. If you're reading this post and you somehow haven't read I'll Give You the Sun, go read it. It's by Jandy Nelson

okay but can we as a society talk more about ill give you the sun? THIS FUCKING BOOK. HAS HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD FOR SO MANY YEARS... ITS JUST SO.... ART.... AND I KNOW IT SOUNDS VERY WEIRD. BUT HEAR ME OUT...... i can not explain it but everytime i re read this book its like someone take my brain out and throw yellow paint on it. THIS BOOK IS LITERALLY THE SUNNNN and i cant get tired of it ever i could go on for hours
