-i think we all know that wooyoung is your brat best friend type of boyfriend, who always puts you before himself and takes such good care of you, still can never stop teasing you

-he needs a lot of attention, like a lot. if your attention is not on him he will get all sulky and clingy. he would annoy you just to give him what he wants. even when you're talking to someone else he will cling to you from the back or to your arms

-but if the opposite happens, he just loves it so so much, it's one of his ways to tease you. he would play a video game or be on his phone and you would beg for his attention, he wouldn't give in so easily, but there would always be a cocky smile on his face

after that stupid field encounter, you were heading to second period, which you shared with niki.

now since you guys were now a couple, the whole school had to know, because if jungwon asked something about the one of you two, they had to know as well.

you walked in class and niki had his feet up on a desk beside him, “dude move your feet! it’s my seat!” a guy complained,

“uh- no it’s not? it’s now for my girl.” he scoffed and got up walking towards you, dragging you to sit in your now new seat, the guy scoffed and sat in your usual seat in the back.

“seriously?” you whisper shout at niki, he just leaned down and kissed your forehead, “yo bro! since when we’re you two a thing?” you heard one of nikis friend ask,

“since now.” he smirked and glanced at you before sitting beside you, you shook your head softly, he was definitely having too much fun with this. “you’re a idiot.” you mouthed to him, “you love it.” he mouthed back as the teacher began the lesson.

this was awkward. he’s supposed to be your fake boyfriend, not piss jungwon off. “we should go out.” jungwon turned to you, “wh-what?” you tilt your head, “you know, like we used too?” he smiled.

“sure where we goin?” niki asked drinking out his milk carton, jungwons eyes flicked over at niki before back at yours, “maybe.. ice cream? after school, on me.” he suggested.

“yeah sure! why not that sounds-

you looked over at him, giving him ‘cut it out’ eyes, he just raised an eyebrow. jungwon stared at you two before furrowing his eyebrows.

“so RIKI? how much do you love y/n?” jungwon asked and both of your head snapped his way. shit.

“oh so much. she’s the light of my life.” he smiled and you rest your head on his shoulder, “yeah? any dates yet?” won asked.

“mhm.” niki nod. “where was your first one?”

“started off small, a mini cafe. but second one? a picnic at her favorite park.” niki nod maintaining eye contact with him.

“yeah? where’s her favorite park?”

niki took a while before answering, you set your phone on the table, your wallpaper showing a picture of your favorite park,

“oak park.” he says, not gonna lie, he was a lot smarter than you thought, and you were shocked how he was coming up with responses so quickly.

“anddd, what about.. her favorite color?” jungwon rested his head on the palm of his hand, trying to test to see if niki knew you better than him.

which is obviously not true, but little did you know, niki paid attention to you and your small details more than you knew, why? because he somewhat cared about you.

but not like that.. coming from niki.

“pink.” he replies, since that’s kind of the only color you wear. “hm.” jungwon says.

“last one, this is kind of cool. her favorite song.” jungwon smirked.

niki felt his heart drop. he didn’t know this one, but you did.

niki thought hard- but quickly.

until something popped into his head,

he remembered the day he walked up to you as you sat on the stairs outside school, headphones on as you read your text book.

he then snatched your headphones off and waved them in the air, “dude! give me my stuff!” you yelled at him trying to reach your precious headphones, but he’s too tall.

“relax. you’re so dramatic.” niki rolled his eyes and put the headphones on, playing to him was falling behind by laufey.

“is this your favorite song?” he asked you, “why do you care. it WAS, until you ruined it.” you snatched the headphones off his head.

“yeah right. it still is isn’t it? i made it better?” niki smirked, you just sighed and sat back down to finish studying and niki walked off chuckling to himself.

“falling behind.” he finally replied to jungwon, jungwons smirk faded away. damn, you two really were together?

no. but does he know that? no.

the bell rang, “welp. that’s our cue. gotta walk my girlfriend to class, come on.” niki stood up and grabbed your hand.

“cant wait for the free ice cream later!” niki waved as you two walked out the cafeteria.

as soon as you guys got out you both burst into laughter, “this is so bad! i feel so bad for him! jesus stop being so rough with him!” you punch nikis shoulder.

“remember. he didn’t HURT me, this is just for the look.” you groan, “yeah but it’s funnier my way.” niki smiled,

“no it isn’t.” your mood immediately shifted and rolled your eyes walking away, “but you were just laughing?!” niki shouted before running up with you.

“okay no funny shit please.” you tell niki as he was practically checking out some girl across the school field, “niki!” you shout and his head quickly turned to you, “y-yeah right..” he nod turning back to the girl.

“now if someone sees you’re checking out another girl while we’re dating, what will they think?” you sighed, “exactly- what will they think?” you heard a voice behind you two, you guys quickly turned and saw jungwon.

“w-what? pfft. i wasn’t checking her out shes.. not even pretty..? besides i have my girl right here.” niki quickly grabbed your waist and you mentally rolled your eyes.

“right, well let’s go?“ jungwon asked and you nod as you guys walked away from the school to get icecream.

you two walked behind jungwon, niki tripping you a couple of times and you whispered a ‘stop.’ with a straight face, he just chuckled quietly.

“what flavor do you guys want?” jungwon asked you two, “vanilla.” niki nods, “hm.. oo! i want-

“cookies and cream?” jungwon finished the sentence for you, you tilt your head, “yeah.. how’d you know?”

“i remembered from last year.” he smiled and walked to the counter to order. niki scoffed, “he obviously still likes you. why are you running?” niki groaned.

“because..” you sighed. you wanted to move on.

you loved jungwon but- it was time to move on. him moving back to korea just made it harder again. so you were hoping this fake relationship would show him you’re over him for good.

“because?” niki furrowed his eyebrows, “just shut up.” you sigh and niki pat your head, “here you guys go.” jungwon handed you two your cups.

“thanks bro.” niki said and began to demolish the ice cream, you made a disgusted face at him, ew.

“you two should come to my party.” jungwon says watching you two, “w-what.. party?” you ask, “yeah. well. my friends throwing it for me at my house, welcome back party, you guys should come.” he says.

“cool. what’s the address?” niki says wiping ice cream off his lips, “well- y/n should remember where i live.” he smiled, niki stopped eating and just stared at him.

niki was playing this fake boyfriend play well, the way he’d get mad when jungwon flirted slightly with you went along well. usually he wouldn’t even care.. he doesn’t either way.. right?

no he did care. niki knew he did. yeah he hated you but- he didn’t like the way he was hitting on you. why? he didn’t know he just didn’t like it.

“sure..” niki replied, “when is it?” you ask him with a sigh, “after school friday. see you there?” he asked you, “yeah- you’ll see us there.” niki put his arm around you,

jungwon chuckled and walked away heading home, “this boyfriend act is good.” you tell niki once jungwon was out of sight.

“what can i say? i’d be the best boyfriend ever wouldn’t i?” he threw his cup in the garbage, “oh shut up.. cant take a compliment without dragging it.” you rolled your eyes pointing at him with your spoon.

he then grabbed your cup of icecream and your spoon and dug into your icecream making you gasp, “whatever you say.. girlfriend.” he winks and walked away from where you were standing.

“what the—?!” you throw your arms up and he chuckled before running farther away.

how much longer can you put up with this.. you wonder.

Just a drabble.

The living room of your small apartment was a radiant summery orange as the sun poked its way up above the clouds. The long windows that looked down upon the cityscape below refracted said light, and prism colors started to dance around the room and bend against the many many picture frames of you and your family with Hoseok. A smiling boy and girl positioned between the two of you in a round frame was the focal point of the mantle piece; the rest of the house being full of sillier photos of the people you'd come to love so much.

Hoseok could be heard from the girl's room, a grumble of complaints coming from the doorframe. Your youngest always hated waking up this early to get ready for school. Hoseok had a way of going about it though, where he would bribe her with the delicious cereal bars so loved oh so much and would promise to make her bacon on Wednesdays since he didn't have to be into the office for another few hours. This was what reluctantly got her out of bed and had her sauntering towards the kitchen without paying attention to the time at all. He would put pigtails in her hair so the whole apartment would smell like the apple detangler that she loved so much. Once she got to school, however, she never wanted to leave. Unlike you, your daughter loved math and science and would spend all her recess time reading books about space under the branches of a nearby tree while the rest of the students played. Hoseok was quite proud to hear how studious she was when the two of you had gone for a parent-teacher conference a couple of weeks prior.

Your boy was now twelve, so he was usually able to get up on his own. He definitely developed his own fashion sense through stealing his parents' clothes, which you found to be quite adorable considering most kids that age usually just go to school in graphic tees. He has dreams of being a fashion designer, so the two of you had gone out and bought many sketchpads and designer books with the models preprinted onto the pages. It was important to both you and Hoseok that your children's interests were never taken for granted, and that you were able to provide support wherever that may be. So when your son came home with painted nails and drawings all over his arms, the two of you knew he would have his mother's creative and artsy side. You loved the varying differences in your children's personalities.

Hoseok then ran into the room holding up your daughter as though she were a fighter plane and made silly noises as he flew her about and into the kitchen, her giggles following shortly after. Your son hustled his way out of the hallway frantically trying to collect his schoolbooks while he rubbed at the eyeliner he put under his eyes. He gave you a look which read "uh can you help?" But with kindness and urgency, as your kids gave you and Hoseok the utmost respect.

It was times like these where you felt the strongest wave of emotion. Mornings with your family were never going to not be important to you; especially after not having that as a child. Suddenly you were back to the dining room from the farmhouse twenty years prior, sitting all alone in the dark and spoon-feeding yourself the stale cereal as you waited for the right time to wake up your siblings and tell them to get ready for the bus. There was a crack in the table, as there were many imperfections in the house, and you would rub your finger over the sharp edge which threatened to leave a mark if you pushed against it too roughly. The wallpaper was falling off the ceiling and you wondered if the house felt the same way you did; pretty on the outside, but deteriorating in regard to the parts the public never saw. It was a burning house and you were burning with it.

You vowed long ago to never let yourself set your new family on fire like your father had.

In a way, it was you rekindling the relationship you had with younger you; a parent sitting at the table with a child who'd presumed she'd been forgotten even though you weren't there physically. She would always feel like someone was watching over her, and you hoped she knew it was herself. You wished you could go back and tell her that the things her father said to her weren't true. That she was worthy of love. That she did belong somewhere. That she wasn't a failure. That she'll make it out of this situation alive and that she'd go through trial and error with people whom she'll love wholeheartedly but will never love her until she gets the family of her dreams with a man who's nothing like the one in her old household.

So when your son came up to you and said "mom, I really really love art," you knew your reply would always be "I'm so proud of you for your drawings, let's hang them up on the fridge" because the man in your house had forgetfully thrown them away amongst his other papers.

When your daughter said she was feeling lonesome, your first reaction would be to console her and tell her that there is so much life to live and there are some parts she'll have to face alone, but never fully. That she'll always kindle people's hearts with her kindness and her love for life, a contrast from the man who told you that it was because you were unlovable.

When your husband made your kids those sandwiches they loved so much and spent a long time cutting them up into stars just to see a smile on their faces, a part of that kindness went to the you who never got it. When your husband insisted on taking trips as a family somewhere where everyone would love and would spend an hour playing with the kids on the playground, the you from before found some happiness. When your son was jamming out to music, Hoseok would be the first to walk into the room and offer to dance with him. When your daughter got older and expressed her concerns with her weight, Hoseok would be the one to hold her and tell her she's beautiful regardless of physical appearance.

When your son goes through his first heartbreak, your husband would be the first to tell him about how he'll love a lot of people in his life and not all of them will be good, but he will be good because he is a lover. When your daughter has her first anxiety attack, your husband will be the first to make her tea and offer the chance to watch a movie which will eventually become her favorite because she associates it with a good memory.

Last night he took a lamp off the living room table and placed it in the middle of the floor. He moved the furniture around to make more space and then emptied out cans of paint into the roller container and painted the living room while dancing with his kids whom you both adored so much.

And when your kids go off to college, Hoseok will be the first one to cry and give a hug and try to convince them to go out to lunch one more time as a family just to spend every moment he has with them before he can't see them everyday. And your son/daughter will smile and say they can't because there's just oh so much to unpack and he'll understand and cry to the songs he remembers playing that night they all danced in the living room together and will set his phone wallpaper to a picture of them.

And even though the kids are still small and the years have yet to go by, there's not a day you regret loving and giving your heart to people. Because even though you gave it out to the wrong person a few times, there was never a time you would say you regretted it because the thing you know best about yourself is your capacity to love. Boundlessly and endlessly.

And Hoseok wasn't there for all of it, but he'd be there for the rest of it and that was good enough for you. Because in a way, he was always there. When you had those nights with your father where you couldn't walk into school the next day without falling asleep. Where home life got so rough you'd find yourself silently crying in the school bathroom. When looking at yourself in the mirror became too difficult of a task so you'd have to shower with the lights off. When everything was too much, but you envisioned having a family of your own one day and someone who'd love you the way you'd loved everyone else. And you got it.

And he was currently feeding your eight year old bacon and looking at you with the most adoration you've ever seen a human being muster.

For once, everything was okay.

He and Euijeong still live in the same house, and since his promotion, Park Junmo works in Seoul just as his wife does. It is the same house, the same kitchen, the same green-patterned wallpaper like lilies or an open fan, and the pale wood floor which only shows the ghost of blood under luminol. He brings his own food and leaves it in the fridge, or takes some of the leftovers Euijeong has wrapped carefully in plastic; they don’t speak. She avoids the kitchen, padding every evening through the front door and the hall all the way back to their bedroom; he follows her once she can pretend to be asleep. It’s been a long time since he left his silver ring on the gravestone, a long time since she left her simple cross necklace, tied around the neck of a bouquet. She still wears the necklace Gicheul had given her later; the mocking flower-cut gems. And Junmo still wears the watch. 

He tries to be quiet as he walks with bare feet into the silent room, but Euijeong’s breathing is shallow and sleepless, and as the rustle of the covers over him break the silence, the mattress dipping under his weight, she says, “where… did you go today?”

Junmo looks toward the shadowed ceiling and not toward her. A spike of irritation rises in his gut. He could have gone further without hearing her voice. 

“You know where I went.”

He’d gotten there first this time; left a cigarette on the cold stone. He’d known she’d be arriving later with a grouping of flowers, delicate things that Gicheul would surely cherish just as he cherished her. 

“It’s been a year.”

“It’s been a year. So? You never wanted to fucking talk about it before, why now? You’ve been pretending he doesn’t exist for a year, and now you want to talk about him? Do you wish you’d died along with him? Eh?”

He sounds cruel. He is cruel. The words just pour out of him into the silence and he hears them echo. He had never wanted to be a husband who was cruel, but he’s long since lost the capacity for an innocent lie.

“Do you?” she says. Quiet. It must be easier for her. She’s not the one who pulled the trigger. She’s never asked him why he did it. Junmo has so many reasons. He was trying to save Gicheul from an eternity in hell. He hated his enemy for stealing away his wife. He couldn’t bear to let Gicheul have his way in anything, even this.

“Fuck. Euijeong, I can’t talk about this. Find someone else to bother with it—”

“Who else?”

Junmo lets out a ragged exhale. Who else indeed. 

He sits up. Rummages in the bedside drawer for his cigarettes and lighter. He can’t have this conversation without something else to focus on; the steadiness of nicotine into his lungs, the warm burn of smoke. He can feel her sitting up too, settling herself with her back against the headboard.

 “I think about him all the time,” Euijeong says. It’s a confession of only what he already expects. Junmo breathes out, curls his fingers around the wrapper in his hand. “Every time I come back here, it feels like he’s still waiting in the kitchen. Sometimes I think I’m going to turn my head, and I’ll see him—”

“He was dead the moment he came back here,” Junmo says. “He was going to run away with you. The bastard thought he could still fucking make it. His normal fucking life with a married cop—” he chokes on a laugh. “Did he want you to protect him? Was he going to wrap you up in that, too? Jung Gicheul. That motherfucking bastard.”

“I should have warned him not to come back for me,” Euijeong says.

Junmo takes another drag of his cigarette, the smoke curling into the still air in a heavy haze; he rests his elbows on his knees. “He would’ve come back anyway,” he says at last. “He never knew when to quit.”

Neither of them had. Junmo had seen the oncoming wreck but had still stone-eyed stared down the road with his foot on the accelerator. He’d win the race if it killed them both. He’d won. And it had killed Gicheul.

Now he has his high rank to keep him warm at night and the memories that won’t give him rest. He doesn’t care about the fucking kitchen. He can go there every evening and morning and eat at the table a foot from where Gicheul died and see nothing but pale wood and emptiness. But when he drives through the streets that the Gangnam Union used to patrol and turns his head, sometimes he thinks he catches a glimpse of a familiar gait, the fabric of a coat, a head turning in the crowd. He sees Gicheul’s ghost in the places where the man had lived, not where he’d died. 

He doesn’t know what it says if he sometimes sees his own doppelgänger too: Seungho, striding by his boss’s side, confident in the milling crowd, lighting up with a smile.

Hana Yori Dango-Boys Over Flowers & Meteor Garden

The Final 2 Men That Make Up F4

My intro into Asian Dramas and such was these series and I don't pretend they were all perfect. Quite the opposite each adaptation had it's issues but when you look pass issues and still adore something or someone even. That's real admiration and love. So let's meet the 2 guys that help make up F4

Number 1: The 2 men that help make up F4 in the 1995 movie were just wallpaper. Unfortunately they were just there with no real storyline. And it was sad but I won't leave them out.

SAEKI KENSAKU played Nishikado Sojiro...surprisingly this gentleman had one acting credit and it was Hana Yori Dango in 1995. Then He retired from acting and no other information is available.

HASHIZUME KOICHI played Mimasaka Akira...this actor had many series to his credit but sadly he died 4 years after Hana Yori Dango in 1999 in a bike accident.

Number 2: 2001 Meteor Garden Adaptation seemed almost in the 70's or 80's F4 were all long haired cutie pies.

VANNESS WU (in the yellow) played Mei Zuo..

KEN CHU played Xi Men

Number 3: In 2005 Japan's Hana Yori Dango Series. The other 2 Members of F4 was back to the same names as the 1995 Movie of the same name.

ABE TSUYOSHI played Mimasaka Akira

MATSUDA SHOTA played Nishikado Sojiro

Number 4: South Korea's Boys Over Flowers was unlike the others because no others used these names while both Japanese Versions used the same names as did Taiwan and China.

KIM BUM played the ladies man So Yi Jung

KIM JOON played Song Woo Bin

Number 5: China's Version called Meteor Garden just like Taiwan's Version returned Xi MEN & Mei Zuo. China's Version was excellent like the rest but it was a whopping 49 Episodes. All F4 Members had story arcs. Well they did in other versions as well.

Xi Men was played by CEASAR WU

Mei Zuo was played by CONNOR LEONG or LEON LEONG

So these handsome gentlemen rounded out the F4 in the Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese versions of this iconic story. Do you have a favorite of them. Or were they just friends of Domyouji Tsukuba & Hanazawa Rui/ Daoming Si & Hauze Lei

Actually I do like all of them but I do prefer Number 4 & Number 5. Because I am a huge fan of KIM BUM & KIM JOON and CEASAR WU & LEON LEONG were also excellent for me. But again I love all these guys.

need a master list of every riverdale literary reference ugh

hello, darling, this is a great feat and i personally don't have the time of going through every episode and curating a handwritten list of every literary work referenced by the silly ouroboros, stuck in the narrative show, however i will try to ennumerate some of the works referenced both directly and indirectly in the series.

due to the very nature of riverdale, we have numerous references to sir arthur conan doyle and agatha christie as well as edgar allan poe - both his poems and short stories (especially since the murders in the rue morgue is considered the predecessor to a detective novel). veronica is seen reading the secret history in both season 1 as well as 4, she references shakespeare during her theraphy session in season 4 (after the school theraphist implies she has electra complex, a theory by jung as well as a reference to greek mythology and tragedy electra, a part of the oresteia famously translated by anne carson).

we have references to moby dick, crime and punishment, american psycho, the yellow wallpaper, lord of the flies, catcher in the rye, of mice and men, the picture of dorian gray, less direct ones to frankenstein, if i remember correctly. origin of love from hedwig and the angry inch refers to the greek tradition of giants which is mentioned by plato in symphosium, in the flashbacks abigail gets imprisoned under the pretense of discussing banned books - lord chatney's lover. there is the whole library episode where jughead has to go on a roadtip looking for kafka's metamorphosis and a kiss of the spiderwoman, amongst other things. more recently betty has blackmailed another school psychologist because he owned a copy of lolita. i am certain that fight club, some dickens and checkov also got mentioned at some point. im pretty sure such was the case with slaughterhouse five, clockwork orange and farenheit 451 and although im quite sure there were no textual references to siken, i do think his works fit nicely thematically. where poetry is concerned, they absolutely referenced frost
