[Otaku Visual Novel] Detective Walkthrough/Guide
A Visual Novel by junichi nakagawa, available on iOS  (Also called Hikikomori Detective Brothers)
Tumblr media
This is a straightforward walkthrough listing the correct choices to get to the end! :>
Notes: - There are more than 50 different endings (yup, you read that right) but only one ultimate end (or true end) to the story. This can be achieved by making all the correct choices (listed like this). - Clicking on a wrong choice will get you one of those 50+ endings, and you’ll either have to start from the beginning of the story or restart the chapter to select the correct choice. - To completely finish the game, you’ll have to get all 50+ endings! But, even just getting the true end is enough! The other 50+ endings are more comedic in nature, so you won’t be missing out on them if you choose not to get them.
"No of course not." "Nah, he's just sleeping."
"Do it yourself!" "Sheesh. fine......"
"Shut up! Grow up already!" "Sorry, it's just for a bit!"
"The past." "The future."
"Sorry I lectured you."  "Never mind! Listen to me!!"
"That must be it."  "No work, no food."  "I'm overthinking." "Never mind that, I'm starving"
"Gently admonish him." "Abandon him."
"I strongly punch him."  "I softly slap him."
"Let's go outside and gain experience!!"  "You do have the potential!! Do your best!"
"Never thought like that."  "Never mind about that thought."  "That is a bizarre idea."
"Absolutely impossible." "Well, true."
"Master the Internet!"  "Then go out into the society!" "I'm annoyed."  "My head hurts."
"Let's read it." "Let's ignore it."
"Are you sure you want to trust them?" "Don't get involved! It's too risky!"  “Get his attention with a different topic!"
"Get yourself together!!" "You're invading her privacy."
Quietly watch the procedure. Stop him.
"Go, Shizuku!" Make something nourishing.  Quietly watch him.
Quietly watch the procedure.  "Be careful, Shizuku!"
"Yeah, we must do it thoroughly." "No, this should be enough."  Let's give it a boost.  "Do you see something?"
Suggest to meet with her. Suggest to call her.
"Your setting is wrong" "Your mindset is wrong"
Force quit the call. Let him speak. Draw attention to me.
Take forceful measures. Quietly watch how it goes.
There's nothing I can do. Shoot, I gotta calm him down.
It's not too late yet.  It should be fine. Huh, what's this? Go back to cook for him.
"He's fine." "I'm curious."
Coma back later. Go inside using the spare key.
"Hold on! I'll call for the ambulance!"  "Hold on! I'll cook something!"
"Get a hold of yourself!" "Whatever......" "I'll get him something to drink so he can calm down." "I'll drink something to calm myself down."
Hesitate. Lie.
Look outside. It's nothing.
Take him outside. Confront him. Look for something that can put out the fire.
"Let's report it to the police!" "We gotta do something!"
Patience. The speed of lightning.
Watch him. Say my opinion. Make him something.
"Shizuku, it's a waste of time." "Don't be like that and explain it to him, Shizuku."
"Suit yourself." "That's enough."
Gently admonish. Kick. Help Shizuku.  Calm down somehow.
Join them. Come up with a plan.
Wait for him.  Go inside.
Take on the men.  Eat first. Take on Suzume Furuhashi.
Go full throttle. Go easy on them.
Pressure them thoroughly. Forgive them.
That should be enough. Do it thoroughly. Take a break.
Keep pressuring her. Let her free.
Decide to let her go. Add more pressure.
Bow down on the ground. Give up.  Curious about something that's on the desk.  Curious about something that's on the table.
Hand her the phone. Push the call button and hand her the phone.
"I'm taking the chance!"  "Shizuku, help!" Try to put the fire out with the water nearby.
Quietly listen. Stop him. Watch while eating something. Watch while drinking something.

For today's Venom book review, here is Japan's Venom movie program. Japanese movie theaters sometimes sell souvenir booklets that are not available in North America, so I'm super happy that I was able to acquire this for my collection! This publication contains pictures and information about the movie, including interviews and behind the scenes stuff. It's around the size of a magazine, but with a sturdier cover and pages made of high quality paper. Seriously, my scanner could not do justice to the front cover art (shown above). The cover actually has a metallic shine that looks gorgeous in person.
This booklet is not available in English or French (although there are a few little bits of English text here and there), but there are plenty of pics to enjoy. Some of them are in full color, and some of them are in black-and-white... well, perhaps black-and-pewter would be a more accurate description, because the program uses a silvery gray instead of white. It looks lovely, although some of the images are a bit darker than they would have been if regular black-and-white had been used.
Want an example of the contents? Check out this two-page spread from the center of the booklet, which shows the development of Eddie and the Venom symbiote’s relationship:
Tumblr media
Sorry for the bad photo, but a two-page spread of that size is way too big for my scanner. Anyway, hopefully you can still see how that spread compares two images. One is a frightened Eddie having a face-to-face conversation with the Venom symbiote for the first time, and then the second pic is from near the end of the movie, with Eddie and the symbiote working together to stop Drake's rocket. Awww, they fell in love and saved the world!
Keep reading for the rest of the book review, plus a few more pictures!
The Introduction section of this booklet is illustrated with a stunning two-page spread that is half Venom, half Eddie. It's the same art that was used as the Blu-ray cover for the North American release of the movie, but in a huge size so the details can be seen more clearly. Wow! After that is a story synopsis and a few pages of screenshots from the movie. Here are two of those screenshots:
Tumblr media
Next, there's an interview with Tom Hardy, and then a cool of drawing of Venom. So although most of the art in this book consists of screenshots from the movie (and a few behind the scenes pics), there are some additional images! Here is the drawing of Venom:
Tumblr media
After that is the Making of Venom section, which is in black-and-pewter. I tried to scan one of the pictures from this part so you can get an idea of what I mean by "black-and-pewter", but once again my scanner couldn't really do it justice. Anyway, here it is:
Tumblr media
It just looks black and gray in the scan, but if you see the booklet in person you'll notice that the gray has a slight metallic shine to it. Pretty! Anyway, for some reason the Making of Venom section stops after two pages so the booklet can cover a bunch of other stuff, and then resumes later. So the first part of this intermission is for short Cast Interviews with Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, and Jenny Slate. Then the booklet switches back to full color for a Cast Profiles page featuring Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, and Reid Scott.
Next is an interview with the movie's director, Ruben Fleischer. This interview is illustrated with some screenshots from the movie that have been modified with different colors. So a picture of Eddie sprinting down a corridor has been altered to look yellow, and a shot of Riot attacking looks greenish, and so on. After that is the center of the booklet with the two page-spread that I showed earlier in this review, then a column called "Kowakute Tanoshii Entertainment Venom" ("Scary and Fun Entertainment Venom"), and a couple more pages of screenshots.
Then the booklet switches back to black-and-pewter for the rest of the Making of Venom section, and after that it switches back to full color for the remainder of the booklet, starting with another cool drawing of Venom. Next is a Filmmakers page that credits some of the other people who worked on the movie, then a page with two more screenshots. This is followed by a column called "Kyouakuna Shugosha Venom" (Um... something like "Brutal Guardian Venom"? I guess it's the Japanese equivalent of Lethal Protector Venom). And to illustrate Venom's role as a brutal guardian, after that column there is a two-page spread of Venom defending Mrs. Chen from the "protection money" guy.
After that is another credits page, and then a page with comments from three of the voice actors who worked on the Japanese dub of the movie. Here are the Japanese voice actors (from left to right) for Venom, Eddie, and Anne:
Tumblr media
For those of you who don't recognize those names/faces, Shido Nakamura (Venom) is the voice of Ryuk in Death Note, Junichi Suwabe (Eddie) is the voice of Victor Nikiforov in Yuri!!! on Ice, and Shoko Nakagawa AKA "Shokotan" (Anne) is a singer and also a presenter on Pokemon Sunday.
The booklet comes to an end with full color versions of the Eddie and Venom portraits from the Making of Venom section, and a couple of advertisements for Venom stuff. Check out this ad for a Venom figurine:
Tumblr media
Overall, the Venom movie program is beautiful! It's so cool that Japanese theaters sell stuff like this! By the way, in Japan there are also little mini-posters called "chirashi" that are used to promote movies. I was able obtain a couple of those for Venom as well. Yay! So I'll take this opportunity to show those to you now. The first one has a very simple design, showing Venom's eyes:
Tumblr media
In the above poster, the small line of Japanese text says "Tom Hardy", and as I'm sure you can probably guess, the larger line of text says "Venom".
The other mini-poster I have is the same art as the front cover of the movie program, although it doesn't have the metallic shine:
Tumblr media
Cool, huh? Was the Venom movie promoted in unique ways in your area? If so, I would love to hear about it!
Well, I guess that’s it for today. Gosh, this was a long post, heh. I hope you enjoyed it! Keep my checking my blog for more Venom content! :)

I am a bit torn on the voice change in the Japanese version of Sonic the Movie. Nakagawa Taishi is replacing longtime Sonic voice actor, Kanemaru Junichi. I believe this will only be for the film, but we never know.
Since I live in Japan, I was really looking forward to hearing Kanemaru-san in the film. In some ways, he is the definitive voice for Sonic and it’s a shame to see the bigwigs are changing it around mainly because Nakagawa Taishi has a broader appeal. I actually like his previous projects like Your Lie In April, ReLIFE, and Prison School. I just wish we could have continue having Kanemaru-san as Sonic since he’s been doing it since 1998.
That being said... I’m also not naive about why they made this change. Kanemaru-san is not going to be well known to the general public... but Taishi is. He’s still featured in commercials and I still know of people who talk about his previous advertisements with popular Japanese actress, Hirose Suzu. I am honestly impressed with the push Sonic is getting with this film. At least in Japan, it’s getting a lot of promotions throughout and I feel like the companies are really trying to make it a success. Though I’m worried because I am also the only person in the entire city of Nagasaki to have gotten the preorder ticket and Baby Sonic figure. Having Taishi voice Sonic will definitely get more people into the theaters to see it, but I don’t know how many will actually show up.
In the end, I’m not really happy about the voice change, but I understand why they are doing it. If it means that the film will perform better then it’s fine. I just do not want anything from this film dripping into the games.

I’m just going to be transferring the article here for those who want to read it on Tumblr!
In addition to these interviews, I highly recommend checking out some other posts and interviews that I’ve posted and/or transferred to Tumblr!
Maaya Sakamoto LONG Interview
MONOGATARI Interview
Birthday Post (2019)
Thoughts on Marriage
“On My Own” from Les Miserables
Kenichi Suzumura’s Message for her
Song Recommendation List
Name: Maaya Sakamoto (坂本 真綾) Birthday: 31st March 1980 Birthplace: Tokyo, Itabashi City Nicknames: Maaya Agency: fortunerest
Maaya Sakamoto actually began her career as a child actress joining Gekidan Komadori. Joining a troupe where studying was the main focus, she focused most of her time in the troupe doing CM songs and dubbing.
She got her first big break as the Hitomi Kanzaki, the main character of The Vision of Escaflowne. She also did the opening theme song Yakusoku wa Iranai and began her first radio show titled “Sakamoto Maaya no Naisho Banashi.”
In 2003, she also started her first actress role in the musical edition of Les Miserablesperforming as Eponine for 6 years straight until 2009.  She also made sporadic appearances as Junichi Okada’s ex-girlfriend in the TV drama Suekko Chonan Ane-Sannin.
In 2005, she wrote her first essay collection titled Idea..She also began to self-produce her own music from then onwards.
First role:
Her first big starring role as we mentioned earlier was Hitomi Kanzaki from The Vision of Escaflowne. While this wasn’t her first role, as she has done many roles as a kid, it was thanks to her role as Hitomi that she had her big break and at the same time, begin her career as a performing artiste.
Current season:
You can see her in the upcoming anime BEM, where she will be playing “the unidentified Girl”. She will also be voicing Elizabeth in another upcoming anime, To The Abandoned Sacred Beasts. Two Maaya Sakamotos in the upcoming season that you’d be spoilt for choice. She will also reprising her role as Annerose von Grunewald in The Legend of Galactic Heroes ~Die Neue These: The Stellar War later this year.
Famous Roles:
Lunamaria Hawke – Gundam Seed Destiny
Alright, let me get this character out of the way, first and foremost. I am the generation that grew up with Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny. So it’s natural for me to immediately put a voice to the character when you asked me what I think of when I hear Maaya Sakamoto. She was a great foil for the protagonist Shinn Asuka (who just so happens to be voiced by her husband Kenichi Suzumura) and they’re practically inseparable when it comes to later rendition of their characters in other media. Personally, I really enjoyed using her Gunner Zaku Warrior in Gundam games with that massive gun so she’s pretty special for me.
Shiki Ryougi – Garden of Sinners
Now if you asked me my favourite character voiced by Maaya however, it has gotta be Shiki Ryougi from Garden of Sinners. A friend of mine invited me to watch the newest Garden of Sinners movie many years back and I instantly fell in love with Maaya’s portrayal of Shiki. The mysterious aura surrounding her character is what really grabs you. She has this ability called Mystic Eyes of Death Perception where she by simply these lines in front of her, it could kill her opponents. She was such an iconic character for me I’d like to see Shiki again. Maybe playing Fate/Grand Order sounds great talking about this.
Aerith Gainsborough – Final Fantasy VII Series
Now I play a lot of games, so naturally, I had to mention Aerith. Back in my teenage days, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children were my jam and Aerith was one of many central characters in the series. Unlike the cold-hearted Shiki Ryougi, Aerith was the opposite end of that spectrum. She’s warm and full of life. Her interactions with Zack Fair (who, also coincidentally is voiced by her husband Kenichi Suzumura too) in Crisis Core, always looking forward to his next visit.  As for the fate of Aerith in Final Fantasy VII? I believe the story tells itself.
Music
As mentioned earlier, she began her career singing the opening theme song for The Vision of Escaflowne titled Yakusoku wa Iranai. At the same time, it began her career with Yoko Kanno being her main producer until 2013 when she decided to part ways and produce her own music.
[VIDEO] CLEAR
One of her more recent tracks was the opening theme song from the popular Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Chapter, CLEAR. She also sang Platina for the original Cardcaptor Sakura as well, it is her 5th single. I love how this song succeeds from Platina and follows the same style which brings back memories as I myself watched the series as a child. It’s a great successor to Platina.
[VIDEO] Anata wo Tamotsu Mono/Mada Ugoku
Another of her more recent songs, this single in particular is one I have personally purchased. I’m a big fan of Ghost in the Shell, and Maaya actually played Motoko Kusanagi in the recent Ghost in the Shell: ARISE series succeeding Atsuko Tanaka. These songs are the opening theme songs for the TV anime and the film versions of the series. The world-view of these songs are so perfectly in-tune with the elements of the series due to Cornelius’ electric tones and dissonant elements, topped off with Maaya’s vocals giving it a very haunting, GITS song.
[VIDEO] Triangler
We can’t end this section off without mentioning Triangular from Macross Frontier. One of the most iconic songs of the series-and it’s not even by the songstresses in the series! While I’ve only seen bits and pieces of the TV series at all but the song is so famous even I understand the impact of the song itself. Did I mention it won the 2008 Animation Kobe award for the best theme song and the best selling single from Maaya? You absolutely have to go listen to it. Listening to it will make you understand how amazing it is.
She has many notable fans in the industry such as Motoo Fujiwara from BUMP OF CHICKEN, Shoko Nakagawa and even seiyuu Minori Suzuki who is well known to have gone to see Maaya’s concert just one day before the audition to become the next Macross star even.
Personal Impression
I really love her clear voice, plain and simple. She is one voice you will cannot get tired of listening. Sure sometimes she is said to lack range because she only has one type of voice. But when you sound so good in one voice, do you really need any other? She has a simply perfect voice that fits someone who’s emotionless like Shiki Ryouki or Motoko Kusanagi.
There are people like Koichi Yamadera who can basically do anything and everything and sometimes we have the Maaya Sakamoto’s who just have a wonderful speaking voice, she was practically born to be a seiyuu. I’d love to listen to her narrate forever.
And on top of being able to sound perfect during afureko, she sings even better. No wonder Yoko Kanno picked her and worked with her for so many songs. With such a deadly combination of Yoko Kanno and Maaya Sakamoto, we were blessed with so many timeless songs, I’m ever so thankful.
I recently heard that she even released an essay collection titled Idea.. For someone so eloquent as Maaya, you’d probably assume her essay collection would be a thrill to check out. So much so that I’ve been looking around just to see how it is.

Basically, it’s something like that.
The timestamps are from the comments. I’m going to add their names and some comments from me in (if I feel like they’re needed) at the bottom. Keep in mind, there is usually a lot of vocal editing for talent shows, and I’m not a singer myself and can only guess about the vocal techniques and difficulty.
Hosted by Junichi Suwabe and Kana Ueda!
1. 16:30「God knows…」平野綾 (Aya Hirano) 2. 21:10「銀河鉄道999」武内駿輔 (Shunsuke Takeuchi) 3. 33:10「昭和ブルース」大塚明夫 (Akio Ootsuka) 4. 36:30「手のひらの宇宙」岩男潤子 (Junko Iwao) 5. 52:05「愛としか呼べない」堀内賢雄 (Kenyu Horiuchi) 6. 56:08「Shooting Star」井上喜久子 (Kikuko Inoue) 7. 63:25「水中飛行論における多角的アプローチ」平川大輔 (Daisuke Hirakawa) 8. 67:50「ブルーバード」井上ほの花  (Honoka Inoue) 9. 84:25「チャンピオン」大塚明夫、黒田崇矢 (Akio Ootsuka and Takaya Kuroda) 10. 90:50「トップをねらえ!~Fly High~」日高のり子、中川翔子 (Noriko Hidaka and Shoko Nakagawa) 11. 99:03「創聖のアクエリオン」岩男潤子、平野綾 (Junko Iwao and Aya Hirano) 12. 112:00「桜」井上和彦、内田直哉、堀内賢雄 (Kazuhiko Inoue, Naoya Uchida, Kenyu Horiuchi) 13. 125:10「コンディション・グリーン~緊急発進~」笠原弘子 (Hiroko Kasahara) 14. 129:06「必ず景色は変わる」黒田崇矢 (Takaya Kuroda) 15. 136:15「ゲキテイ(檄!帝国華撃団)」横山智佐 (Chisa Yokoyama) 16. 139:46「戦闘男児~鍛えよ勝つために~」関智一、秋元羊介 (Tomokazu Seki and Yousuke Akimoto) 17. 152:58「Maybe the next waltz」小松未可子 (Mikako Komatsu) 18. 157:26「Day you laugh」豊永利行 (Toshiyuki Toyonaga) 19. 165:40「空色デイズ」中川翔子 (Shoko Nakagawa) 20. 169:55「ああ電子戦隊デンジマン」内田直哉 (Naoya Uchida) 21. 185:21「ハート ないしょ/2」日高のり子 (Noriko Hidaka) 22. 189:14「誰がために」井上和彦 (Kazuhiko Inoue) 23. 206:08「GO!!!」全員歌唱 (Everyone)
I just underlined by favourites
Aya Hirano’s still got it! After 13 years, she’s still got it!
Shunsuke Takeuchi, Akio Ootsuka, and Junko Iwao’s performances weren’t bad. Akio was kind of surprising. The same goes for Kenyu Horiuchi. Seriously, I know both for playing those really ominous characters.
It’s a running joke amongst fans and the fandom that Kikuko Inoue is forever 17 (she’s 54 years old?!?!?!) She’s the mother of Honoka Inoue.
I didn’t enjoy Daisuke Hirakawa’s performance partially because I didn’t watch Free and partially because I have eardrums and a clear conscience (okay, that was a little overly harsh. Really, it just didn’t stack up compared other performances).
Honoka Inoue was good considering I know the original so much (and like it a lot). Her mom Kikuko Inoue even joined her on stage! Considering that this song has a lot of difficulties as well, they did a good job! (Even though it was a little rough)
Nothing stuck out so I just skipped to Mikako Komatsu because I love that song. Of course, I knew it would turn out this way. This song takes a lot of air to get to that range, and at speed with little rests, it’s hard. For that reason, I was impressed even if it was rough compared to the studio version.
Toshiyuki Toyonaga did so well!!! One of the best that I’ve seen in this video!!! He owned the stage, performed well, and was fun to watch!
I don’t mean to be harsh, but I was expecting better out of Kakashi-- I mean Kazuhiko Inoue.
That final song was so much fun! Dude, that’s one of the most iconic theme songs for Naruto for me.

So the cast & crew credits for the second of the four sections of the "Toast Dogs, Wedding Donut" episode of Bee and PuppyCat are sameish—but not the same—as the first bit. And how about Saki Muramoto's lovely animation to Brad Sucks's "Lonely" song (the one about the octopus)?
