The Jurassic Park/World Saga
Like with most Trilogies I like all of them, but have a favorite here. My favorite in this case is the lost world, I just love the wildness of this movie, the death scenes are more intense and remind me a lot of what happened in the book (when I listened to some audiobook tapes). The chase scene with all the hunters and dinosaurs is amazingly filmed, and the scene in the camp is scary as hell. I don’t want a T-Rex in my tent, I can’t imagine how scary this would be if this really happened in real life but we are luckily that the dinosaurs got extinct. But my favorite scene will forever be the scene in the long grass with the raptors. I also like the third movie even though it’s trash but let’s be real it’s beautiful trash, where you can have a lot of fun with, if you don’t think about the plot. The Raptors are my favorite in this movie because of how smart they are, plus the mystery of the amalgam testing. The scene with the pterosaurs in the big cage still scares the hell out of me as the final fight scene with the spinosaurus does. It’s a great movie in its own trashy way and if you still don’t like it, get back to it because than you didn’t know how much fun you can have with it. Some people even prefer the third movie over the second one, which I can sometimes understand because the second one do have its mistakes. Still it is a pretty good sequel.
The Jurassic World Trilogy is for me more like a guilty pleasure but it gets plus points for introducing the hybrids and the allosaurus. But same Rule as with the Jurassic Park three, don’t think about the plot just enjoy the action. Also it’s mostly the perspective of a child, which was Michael Crichtons early version of Jurassic Park. So to Dominion I have nothing much to say then that I like the extended cut more than the cinema version, luckily I have seen the cut version in the cinema. But the beginning and end of Dominion are awesome (and some of the action scenes) but I like mostly the scenery of Dominion than the actual plot. I think the plot got lost in the pacing and also the fact that Colin Trevorrow doesn’t care.
But I think my favorite part of the Jurassic Franchise will always be the two books, the two animated tv shows and battle at big rock.

Check Out A Brand New Look At Jurassic Park Survival
Courtesy of the folks at IGN, we have a brand-new look at what Saber Interactive have been cooking up in their creation lab with a closer look at some new screenshots and concept art from their upcoming game Jurassic Park Survival, alongside an internal Q&A where Universal Pictures and the Saber team discuss the upcoming title.
An interesting note in the Q&A is how focussed both the Universal team and developers at the game’s studio are on bringing to life locations which are both familiar and new on Isla Nublar. The interview references how we might see distant buildings and visitor accommodation, and the concept art gives us a flavour of this – showing that the decrepit and overgrown emergency bunker we see in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom may have actually been a functional and state-of-the-art piece of island infrastructure in the early 90s.
I really love how the focus here feels firmly on the experiences that visitors would have had when visiting Jurassic Park. In-universe this is, of course, meant to function as a luxury resort – with the novel even referencing swimming pools and tennis courts as mainstays of the luxury location. It is exciting to think about where the creative teams may choose to pull from this reference material. If we get to see a tunnel behind a waterfall created in the style of the Jurassic film universe, then I may explode with excitement. Needless to say, there is a lot of potential to craft a really compelling environment to explore on Nublar.
Whilst the team were still tight-lipped on whether we would see any dinosaurs in the game which do not appear in the 1993 film, they did share that consideration for the terrain on Isla Nublar is a critical part of gameplay. How this transitions into what Maya is doing within the game remains to be seen, but I imagine that a wet and slippery environment may make rock climbing or other accessories much more dangerous, therefore presenting interesting and challenging dynamic which players are likely to have to weigh up.
There is also a reference here to the importance of patience – something which we have seen in other survival titles like Alien: Isolation, where the player sometimes needs to take shelter and wait for the Xenomorph to pass. The article does also hint that there may be more characters left on Nublar than just Maya – implying the InGen evacuation was not as thorough as we would like to believe, or that there may be other shady individuals attempting to take advantage of the ensuing chaos.
Addressing the elephant in the room, Saber Interactive did confirm that the game will not release in 2024 – meaning that recent rumours of a 2026 release date may be accurate when considering recent news about a third entry in the Evolution franchise. In my opinion – let them cook! This is shaping up to be an exciting adventure game which will allow us to truly immerse ourselves in Isla Nublar in a way which has never been realised before. I believe that taking the time to really develop this game and deliver an interesting and immersive story with compelling environments is critical, so I am VERY happy to wait for as long as this game needs.
It’s fair to say that Jurassic Park Survival is one of, if not the most, anticipated projects which is currently being developed for the Jurassic franchise. A survival-adventure game grounded in the nostalgia of the 90s era is something which many fans have been longing for, and I know that I personally cannot wait. I’m incredibly excited to see more from this game – with this initial update already having me VERY excited for what might be in store.

Is A New Jurassic Park Survival Trailer Around The Corner?
Players on Xbox consoles were treated to a dinosaur-sized surprise today when Jurassic Park: Survival appeared for pre-install on the Xbox Mobile App. I think this means the release of the upcoming action-adventure game is much closer than many of us realise.
‘Pre-Install Now Available’ is often a marketing strapline which we see used on videogames as they get closer to their release date – appealing to the fact that the release is right around the corner, and fans can install content now so they are ready for when that release happens.
What this suggests to me is that we are likely to get a new trailer for Survival this Summer (possibly as soon as the Xbox Showcase on June 8th), and that a key strapline for this new marketing material will be the ability to pre-install the game. This is exciting in itself if accurate as this kind of messaging tends to appear in the final portions of a marketing cycle – which would suggest a release for the game could be as soon as September.
It is important to note that a lot of this is conjecture, but it would seem like a logical release cycle for this game and would also allow Universal to release a game in 2024 and 2025, if recent reports around a third entry in the Jurassic World Evolution franchise are to be believed.
So, what do I think we’re likely to see if another trailer is around the corner, and if it is indeed announcing that we’re much closer to launch than we realise?
Well, trailers at this point in the release timeline will genuinely be packed-full of much more gameplay to give us an idea of some of the features present in the game. We’re likely to get a flavour for some of the tools Maya has at her disposal, some of the ways she can traverse the environments of Isla Nublar, and also a sense for some of the other environments we might get to explore in the game. New details have revealed that the game will be 70GB in size – comparable to titles like Quantum Break and The Division 2 – so we can assume a substantial chunk of Nublar will be explorable in this title.
I also think we are likely to get a sense for the broader narrative here – with an idea of how Maya’s story will play out, and where it intersects the events of the 1993 film and builds on them in new ways. This is personally the element of this game I am most excited for – so I can’t wait to see what direction it takes.
Now it’s important to note this is SPECULATION, but I think this pre-install gives us a very good indication that something will be happening with Jurassic Park: Survival very soon. If you’re anything like me, then I can’t wait!
Are you looking forward to the new game? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to The Jurassic Park Podcast for all the latest news on the release!

A New Jurassic World Film Is Coming | Jurassic Park 7
According to reputable source The Hollywood Reporter, Jurassic Park 7 is within touching distance – with veteran writer David Koepp having already penned a script for the next outing in the Jurassic Park universe.
The article suggests that Universal may be looking to as early as 2025 for a release of the next instalment – although it is important to note that a director has not yet been found for the film. It does appear that both Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will return, however – with Stephen Spielberg once again acting as executive producer through Amblin Entertainment.
It is interesting to hear discussion of a sequel to Jurassic World Dominion given that all recent discussion around the cinematic future of the franchise has been relatively stagnant up until this point. Whilst it is true that Jurassic World Chaos Theory and Jurassic Park Survival are around the corner, this is the first concrete discussion we have seen about a sequel to the films.
The prospect of David Koepp writing the film is incredibly exciting – and we’re sure most Jurassic fans would agree that they would love to see another instalment of the franchise guided by his storytelling skill! 1993’s Jurassic Park earned its place in cinema history due in no small part to its fantastic writing and world building.
It’s clear that Koepp knows how to translate Crichton’s signature thriller-style writing to the screen, so the potential that would bring to a post-Dominion story is very compelling.
Whilst there is no indication of the direction of the story which the sequel will tell, it is fair to say that there are a few interesting directions which Koepp could choose to explore. A story which delves deeper into the wider ramifications of dinosaurs in the wild, or perhaps explore more of the murky dino trafficking world which Dominion introduced us to certainly has potential.
For now, it’s safe to say that we are excited to see more happening with this franchise, and will be watching excitedly to see the next steps Universal decide to make with this behemoth of a franchise.
Are you excited that David Koepp may be returning to the franchise? Let us know your thoughts below, and stay tuned to the Jurassic Park Podcast for all the latest news!

Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters – Grounded Storytelling Done Well
(This article has been written after the debut of Episode 6 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has debuted, titled ‘The Way Out’. This article contains minor spoilers for all the episodes up until this point)
Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters is a show which I have been feverishly excited for since it was first announced as an upcoming project set to debut on Apple TV. As a young boy, I had always enjoyed shows which brought secret organisations to the forefront in fantastic worlds – loving both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the presence of U.N.I.T throughout Doctor Who.
The announcement of this show had me excited for a deep dive into the shady entity known as MONARCH from the films. Would this series expand our understanding of the secret organisation? Would we see more of the Outposts and facilities hinted at in 2014’s Godzilla, and the subsequent Godzilla: King of The Monsters?
Whilst this show has done a fantastic job of exploring who MONARCH are within this universe, it has done something better in my opinion. It has presented us with a grounded, character-driven story within this universe – something I want to reflect on in this piece.
Devastating world events are nothing new. Unfortunately, the world we live in is often shook by devastating events. In films and other creative media, we often see large, grandiose set-pieces which portray this destruction and devastation – but we scarcely ever see the fallout of that havoc. This is where Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters shines.
This series has done a fantastic job of showing us how this world has changed – with small details like posters, graphics and advertisements tying directly into the proliferation of Titans across the Earth, to larger-scale additions like the missile launchers found in Tokyo in Episode 1, or the FEMA resettlement camp and subsequent quarantine area we see in Episode 5.
Not only do these visuals have striking resemblances with our understanding of the real world – the latter particularly provoking images of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina – but they help to give us, as the audience, a tangible sense of how Titans have changed what the everyday looks like within this world. This lays the foundations for the growth of both MONARCH activity and international collaboration to counter the Titans seen in KOTM.
Alongside this enriching and immersive worldbuilding, we also have deep, emotive stories which directly intertwine the characters who are the vessel for these stories with the events and incidents which have shaped the world in which they inhabit.
Seeing direct, first-person trauma which characters have experienced as a direct result of the events we see on the big screen in the Monsterverse cinematic universe really helps to add emotional weight to these films, and allows much greater insight into how substantial the events we see unfolding on the big screen are.
I have loved seeing how these events have informed so many people’s lives in different ways – leading to our characters making difficult and sometimes dangerous decisions based on their own experiences. This is emotive storytelling done well, and I love how it has become a vessel through which we can explore the real impact that battles of titanic proportions have.
All this is to say – Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is grounded storytelling done well. I love the emotional weight we feel across this story so far, and also have enjoyed seeing how the world has been changed by the G-Day forever. This makes the universe feel real and lived in, and adds so much more depth to the events we see unfolding in Gareth Edward’s film.
Don’t get me wrong – this show IS delivering more about MONARCH. We are beginning to peel back the layers of this mysterious organisation in an exciting narrative which still leaves me with more questions than answers, but for me, the true strength of this series comes in how it creates a world which feels irreversibly changed by Titans.
I hope you have enjoyed this article on a slightly different topic here on The Jurassic Park Podcast. Make sure to check out Brad and I breaking this series down each week on the YouTube channel, and stay tuned for more content in the future!

Jurassic World Rebirth looks set to be the title of Jurassic Park 7
Amblin Entertainment yesterday filed several new trademarks for the Jurassic brand under the title of ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ – suggesting that fans may have their first taste of the brand-new seventh instalment in the franchise which is set to release in cinemas in July of next year.
Thanks to our friend at Jurassic Outpost, Josh, we can confirm that Amblin Entertainment have filed several trademarks under the name – including for multimedia products, physical merchandise products, clothing, soaps and beauty products, toys and action figures, food products and more.
An example of one of these listings can be seen below:
This listing is much more extensive than the listings seen for standalone product lines in the past. The breadth and depth of products listed through these various applications all but confirm that Jurassic World Rebirth is the title of the seventh entry in the Jurassic franchise.
Interestingly, it appears that the ‘Jurassic World’ brand is still very much alive – something which I am personally very happy with. The concept of a world filled with dinosaurs is filled with rich potential for meaningful storytelling and engaging new entries in the franchise, so I think it makes sense to stick with the overarching title and build on it in subtitles and standalone entries. I also think it is important to note that Universal have invested significant time and resource into establishing ‘Jurassic World’ as a household name – something which they will likely want to maintain moving forwards.
We know that Jurassic World 4 has been shooting in Thailand recently, and is currently in the throes of completing a shoot in Malta – with subsequent filming in the United Kingdom due to wrap up the production at the end of the year. With relatively little still known about this title, it’s fair to say that we wait, with baited breath, for the first news on the production – which we would anticipate being shared a little later this year.
Are you excited for Jurassic World Rebirth? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned to The Jurassic Park Podcast for plenty of discussion about the new film.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 Releasing Next Year?
If a recent Morning Star article is to be believed, then Jurassic World Evolution 3 may be on the horizon far sooner than many of us anticipated.
Frontier Developments released Jurassic World Evolution close to the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World Evolution 2 close to the release of Jurassic World Dominion – with the third release looking set to come close to the release of the as-of-yet-unknown Jurassic World project due for release in July of 2025. The current forecast for the release of the next title from Frontier is in the fiscal year ending May 31st, 2026 – so there is a good chance of a close launch to the next film entry!
It's important to note that at this point in time, this game is not confirmed to be a subsequent titular title in the Evolution series. Whilst the article does indeed suggest that this will be another creative management simulation game, it is entirely possible that the project will ditch it’s previous branding in lieu of whatever new branding the subsequent Jurassic sequel chooses to use. Reports suggest that the game launch is well on track, and that Frontier anticipate the sequel title to be made public in coming months.
Whilst this is exciting news, I have to admit I am conflicted! On the one hand, it is exciting to think about the potential developments which these games could see when developed purely for current generation hardware. There is a lot of potential to explore some of the tools seen in Frontier’s other games – like Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, but I also can’t help to feel like this is bittersweet considering the recent downturn in support for Jurassic World Evolution 2. The game has been lethargic in its approach to adding features which fans have requested – and feeling as though we won’t get those features until a third sequel certainly leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
I’m honestly not sure how to feel about this. Whilst the people who work on these games put a lot of energy and enthusiasm into developing these games, it does feel like this has the potential to be more of a financially driven decision than a creative one. Yes, Frontier are a development studio who ultimately need to make money – but there could have easily been a live-service model implemented in Jurassic World Evolution 2 to sustain more of a community over the lifespan of the project. Ian Malcolm is famous for saying ‘Don’t worry, I’m not making the same mistakes again’, but unfortunately it seems like Frontier may have not quite learned from the outcry of more support after the release of Jurassic World Evolution.
This is of course incredibly subjective for all of us. I think for me, I need to see more of Jurassic World Evolution 3 (or whatever the next game is called!) and how it strives to differentiate itself from prior releases to make a decision on whether we really needed this sequel.
What are your thoughts? I’d love to read them in the comments down below! Stay tuned to The Jurassic Park Podcast for all the latest news on Jurassic World games from Frontier Developments.
