Rape is such a delicate topic which needs to be talked about more. But this is the topic most avoided. People feel it's awkward to talk about it. Every hour in India four girls get raped. Or let me correct the statement four cases get filed. Many cases go unheard. The main reason why rapists get so much courage is because the laws of the country are not strict enough. Rapists stay in the jail for many years when they should be punished with death. If laws are made strict then the rapists will obviously give a second thought before doing anything. Every time a girl goes out the creepy eyes stare and judge her from top to bottom. The way a woman dresses is not an invitation or an excuse for you to behave wrongly with her. Parents should not teach their daughters to dress appropriately or behave a certain way instead they should teach their sons to not stare at any girl or do any wrong deed. Our government should make some arrangements for the self defense of girls. Schools should set up self defense classes for girls and should teach different tricks and techniques to tackle down or free themselves from the rapist. But mainly every man out there should have a clean heart and respect females. If anyone sees any wrong deed then stand up against it. Your mother raised you, your sister and wife loves you , you are your daughter's hero. Your life is happy because of all these beautiful females then why do you want to take away someone else's happiness? Don't snatch away smiles from people's faces. The recent news of a 14 year-old boy being stabbed to death in front of his mother is devastating. That bystanders looked on and filmed with their cell phones instead of calling for help is even more disheartening. My heart bleeds for that mom today. 7 years ago @lflasko and I wrote a book about bullying as a way to support parents trying to keep their kids safe at school. Strangest thing: the book didn't fly off the shelves, and schools were reluctant to have us come in and speak about bullying or to promote the book. What I kept hearing over and over again was "we have a zero tolerance policy about bullying". If that is the case, why are parents afraid to send their kids to school? Why do the schools do nothing to punish the bullies and protect the targets? This should not be happening. Some time ago, someone told me that the conversation had essentially " gone out of style". This young man...he has my ❤️ for sure. It has been so interesting watching and following all that took place on GMA and the incredible responses by so many amazing male dancers. I have read several of the posts and responses to him and we have watched clips together. Travis has had his fair share of backlash- yet he is still young- who knows what may come down the pike. What absolutely kills me are the grown men who make snide remarks in public or people who have literally said to Scott “you let your wife let your son dance?” People STOP judging! #juststopit I had a talk with my dancers tonight about staying true to who they are and not to worry about the opinions or judgements of others. Dance is an art form requiring insane athleticism. I know I am biased-but Travis can MOVE! I am so grateful for all those who have spoken into his life and the training he is getting through dance. I find it interesting too that when a girl tries a male dominated sport or activity- she is hailed a hero and a trailblazer. Though men have danced for hundreds of years- why is it OK to poke fun or look down upon them?
