Seberapa Bagus Water Decal di Helm?

Jakarta – Repaint water decal pada helm juga menjadi tren modifikasi helm saat ini. Helm jadi tidak polos lagi, karena ditambahkan grafis yang dicetak melalui water decal.

Misalnya helm AGV K3SV yang terpampang di foto di atas. Aslinya, helm itu tidak menggunakan grafis Soleluna ala Valentino Rossi. Tapi, helm itu dimodifikasi dengan ditambahkan aksen Soleluna pakai water decal.

Seberapa bagus water decal untuk repaint helm? Budi dari Fhabian Motoshop yang bermarkas di Cibinong, Kab. Bogor, Jawa Barat, menjelaskan water decal kualitasnya sama seperti pabrikan helm. Apalagi, pabrikan helm juga mencetak grafis atau motif helm menggunakan water decal.

“Water decal ini standar pabrikan. Semua pabrikan helm massal itu pakai water decal. Untuk meluncur ke pasar, water decal itu lebih massal. Jadi bisa dikerjain banyak helm. Kalau airbrush kerjainnya kan satu-satu, lebih lama,” kata Budi kepada detikOto saat ditemui di markasnya di Cibinong, Kab. Bogor, Jawa Barat.

Budi juga menyebut, banyak yang menanyakan soal kekuatan water decal. Dia menegaskan, hal itu tergantung pemakaian empunya helm.

“Jangankan kita yang custom, yang dari pabrikan pun bisa beda-beda lagi sesuai pemakaiannya. Kembali lagi ke pemakaian, ada yang dua tahun lebih masih glossy. Ada juga yang baru beberapa bulan udah luntur,” kata Budi.

Tantangan terbesarnya adalah karena kepanasan dan kehujanan. Namun, ada penangkalnya agar helm tetap mengilap.

“Sekarang kan banyak tuh yang jual cairan-cairan untuk pembersih helm, cairan yang bisa bikin glossy. Disemprot seminggu sekali aja, buat perawatan aja sih. Jadi tetap segar warnanya,” tutur Budi. (rgr/lth)
