Imagine if Machete was Muslim instead of Catholic. His name would be something like Saif سيف, and Vasco would probably be something like Dhahabi ذَهَبِيّ

I've made some interesting musical discoveries. I've been experimenting a bit with digitally altering the pitches of the parts that I record. I don't know why I've never thought of it before, but what my music has been lacking is a decent bass and high range parts.
This is a Fortuna Desperata by Alexander Agricola. I recorded it in December 2022 for recorder consort (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass recorders)
And here's a version where I overdubbed the original recording with 2 copies, 1 an octave higher, and the other an octave lower.
The difference is astounding. It sounds so much fuller and more orchestral. Almost like an church organ.
It's such a profound effect. I'm definitely going to be doing this more often.

Hi everyone. This account will no longer be active.
I'm moving over to @kachavashka where I'll start posting my art, music, poetry, and perhaps photographs.
Thank you.

Vasco has an Irish accent, and there's nothing you can say to convince me otherwise.
I've always imagined Machete sounding something like Skeletor (thinking of that previous ask), but not so raspy and cartoonish. Perhaps something a bit smoother, softer, like Snitter from the Plague Dogs.
Vasco the honorary Irishman (just like he's a honorary lesbian?)
I'm astounded that there's now several people who have been imagining Machete sounding like Skeletor. I don't know what to do with this information.

I've started reading Coorinna: A novel of the Tasmanian Uplands by Erle Wilson.
It's a xenofiction about thylacines. Coorinna comes from the word Kurina which means Thylacine in the Peerapper (Pirapa) language of western Tasmania. Unfortunately, all the Tasmanian languages are extinct :'( fuck colonialism. I'm glad Palawa Kani is a thing though.
Anyway, I'm so enchanted by the book that I've decided to make a short Fan Soundtrack for it. I've already written two pieces.
This one is the first half of the opening piece. I felt it captured the energy of the Tasmanian uplands. Please ignore the metronome, this is just a demo clicktrack recording that I can play along to.
Music starts at 11 seconds.

This is for the scene in chapter 2 of Into the Wild where Rusty travels with Bluestar to the ThunderClan den for the first time.
This is just the midi draft. The live recording will have more effects.

Warriors Soundtrack part 3!! LETS GOOO
I actually began writing this all the way back in February, but I've been so busy lately, I only just finished the first part of it now.
This is the theme to the very first Clan Meeting that Firepaw witnesses in Into The Wild, where Bluestar announces that Lionheart will be the next deputy. The version in my head is a lot more staccato and excited, but Musescore doesn't want it to sound like that :( It'll sound better when I record it live.
The sudden end gives way to a piano solo representing the part where Lionheart accepts his role deputy (I haven't recorded that yet).
There's going to be a lot of piano solos in part 3, so get ready.

Seeing that thylacines were nocturnal, it's not surprising a lot of Coorinna takes place at night. So I wrote this slow, ambient-ish theme for the night in the form of a fugue. I'm not really good at writing actual ambient music, but I think this captured the energy I was looking for.
I also want to make a solo violin version and a version for solo recorder and didgeridoo accompaniment.
It's been very cold and rainy recently here in Noongar country (we have seasonal rain, and it came late this year), so I've had a lot of inspiration to write the music to Coorinna (Tasmania is cold and wet as fuck).

This is a short excerpt from a piece of music that I've written for Temendi. It's quite a long piece, and I haven't finished yet, but I'll be done soon. It goes along with a fic that I'm nearly finished writing which touches on Temendi's origins.

What Emotion is this? I've been feeling like this all week.
The only way I can describe it in words is I feel like salt that's been dissolved in water and dissociated into its Sodium and Chlorine ions.
All my parts are there, but they just won't connect... *sigh* I don't know ...

Live recording before editing. I also haven't recorded any of the Cello parts, and I think I would like to add a flute as well.
