One thing that I love about “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” is that the series, as a whole, works as a sort of deconstruction of the romcom genre (specifically, the romcom genre in manga/anime). I’ve written multiple posts about this already, but one example of how the series works as a deconstruction is that when the series finally has the two leads kiss, we’re only halfway into the story.
Yeah, in most other series, the end is the confession and the kiss. In “Kaguya-Sama”, one could argue that the REAL story begins AFTER the first kiss.
“So you’re also the personal maid of an eccentric, chaotic rich girl who you love as a younger sister despite the staggeringly chaotic teenage pining and lovesickness that accompany her every action?”
Admittedly, Anne being a surrogate big sister to Katarina might be a bit more headcanon than canon, but it’s a headcanon you can pry out of my cold dead hands
Anyway I just remembered this AMV I made for fun two years ago when the last season of Kaguya was airing that I’m still pretty happy with so since season 3 is here, here it is again
