S/O make a lot of self-depracation jokes

[ HEADCANONS ] [ Shinomiya, Ishigami, Fujiwara, Shirogane ]

[ Kaguya-sama Love is war / Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai ]

This is me, i do a lot of self-depracation jokes and jokes about wanting to die (most of the time aren't really jokes)

Also, I tried to find fics with this prompt but there aren't enough, so i may write some🙆🏻‍♀️

Kaguya Shinomiya

Kaguya is pretty prideful and she thinks really high of herself and once she falls in love with you she will think really good of you too (she could be a little simp but hide it with the excuse that just someone amazing can date her, a member of the Shinomiya Family)

That is why the first time she heards you saying something like that, even if is is just an small bad comment about yourself she is shocked, although she doesn't show it and may even laugh slighly because you said it in a joking manner but her mind become a mess in a second, a lot of thoughts run cross her mind trying to find out why are you saying such things

Kaguya get bugged by the worry for a long time and she will be trying to find out the reason behind those comments you say, and the more you say them the more anxious she gets by trying to understand, she even become wary of your surroundings thinking that maybe someone is either making you think that of yourself or even forcing you to say it

Kaguya is so busy trying to find a culprit that she doesn't even heard when Sayaka say that it could be just your kind of humor and a bad habit, although when she mentions that in some cases is a way to people to cope with a bad self-esteem or other problem such as anxiety is when she actually pay attention and even take it as the reality because that way is still someone to blame, the people who made you think/feel that way

Kaguya, proudly of the conclusion she reached, start making a plan to both, find out who in hell made you feel so bad to the point that you constantly talk bad about yourself (even worst in a joking manner) and to raise your self-esteem

First of all she will keep being wary of your surroundings and pry in your personal life (she doesn't even have to do it herself she will put Sayaka in charge to investigate everything that could help to find out the culprit), also she start to glare at everyone who laughs at your jokes

She doesn't really like that your jokes but she won't show it directly, she plan to slowly raise your confidence and self-esteem by filling your surroundings with discreet positive comments about yourself, discreetly cheering for you to do activities where you can feel better, as well as making sure you recive all the compliments and all recognition she knows thinks you deserve (even when she gets easily jealous) is almost like she is trying to braindwash you

Yuu Ishigami

Once Ishigami falls in love he becomes pretty caring, still he has problems to express himself in a way it doesn't come across as rude but he tries

He isn't some who says things just to get into the good side of people, he had already showed that he doesn't care what other people think of him (although that doesn't exactly count with you), so when he says that you are really amazing he means it

The first time he hears you making a self-depracation joke he literally stops whatever he is doing and look at you dumbfounded, he even ask you to repeat yourself in case he thinks he had missheard you, once you repeat it and make clear that you actually just insulted you he doesn't know what to do or how to react, if you two are just friends he won't say much but still troubled him, but if you already are dating he will pry a little more

Ishigami tries to not make a big deal of it but it still make him feel uneasy, he want to know why are you saying such things of yourself, although, how much he pry and insist on knowing the reason depend in how often you say it or how harsh your words are, he doesn't want to but he could be pretty intimidating while trying to ask you about it (he does it unconsciously though)

If it pass some time without stopping or at least explain it you two will have a talk about it, even if he has to force you, is just that he is really worried that you actually thinking that bad of yourself

From that it becomes his personal goal to try to raise your self-esteem and get out of this bad habits of yours, he knows how harmful can be to hear so often this kind of comments towards you since almost all the school think bad of him, but being the one who say that things to themselfs is even worst, and even when he doesn't show it it worries him a lot

It doesn't matter if is just a bad habit of you or that you actually have a bad imagine og yourself, he wants to help you stop it, at least a little as well to help you see yourself in a better way, and he doesn't say it out loud but it hurt him hearing you insult yourself when he thinks that you are so amaizing and beautiful

Although he take it pretty well and don't force you to stop imediatly, Ishigami even laugh at some of them, the smallest and silly ones (like if you call yourself dumb or even if you make jokes about wanting to die he may say that he want it too) but just at the innocent ones and is always in a joking manner, the moment you start to go more harsh on yourself, even if is as a joke he stops you, either with a gently manner and contradicts you with compliments or with a joking manner

Chika Fujiwara

Fujiwara is pretty intense with her love for you, once you two become a couple she start to be more open and clingy

She could be pretty prankster and teasing, and she can call you silly or dumb from time to time but she never really mean it and is always in a joking manner, so she doesn't give much importance the first time she hears you making a self-depracation joke, she may even laugh at it if is a small one

Although she starts to get worried when she hears you making those kind of jokes more and more, and at some point she will comfront you about it (but she will do it in a pretty dramatic way)

When she comfront you she tries to do it in a calm manner, her plan is first ask you why you say such things about yourself (and worst in a joking manner) as well to ask you if you really feel that way about yourself, however she doesn't manage to do it that way because she start getring dramatic and even tear up a little either because you are trying to avoid the topic or because you accept that you have a poor self-esteem. Although if you tend to do jokes that goes more harsh on you she will comfront you more quickly and is more like she will be scolding you

She is scolding you for saying such things about the person she loves, but when she manage to calm down, at least a little, she will explain that for her you are amaizing and even when she calls you silly sometimes she never really mean it, and you shouldn't call you that way neither

After that talk about this habit of yours she will make sure to change your sense of humor for a more innocent and healty one, also everytime she hear you making another joke like that she immediatly reacts by either scolding you or contradicting you with complimets

Other way she has to make you stop with your jokes is with aggresive affection, like hugging you so tightly leaving you without air so you can't say such things, kissing all your face to stop you from talking, or touching you in a not too innocent way until you stop calling yourself ugly, and she always do it with a naughty smile in her lips

Chika make her own personal goal to raise your self-esteem, and she even take it as a challenge so don't be surprise if she celebrate it as her own victory when you do less self-depracating jokes

Also, she is almost threating you if you insist on doing the jokes (is pretty intimidation but cute too), although after a while she will get usted to your jokes a little, but just to the smallest and innocent ones, like if you call yourself silly, but she will never stop reacting pretty bad to the more harsh ones

Miyuki Shirogane

Miyuki is really caring towards you, although even when it doesn't seem like it he is really shy too so he has problems to show it directly, as well he tries to keep his cool and unfazed/perfect facade

The first time he ever heard you making a bad comment about yourself he is dombfounded, he is so taken aback that at first he may laugh or even agree with you but once he finally process what you had say his mind become a mess in a second, overthinking everything from if you really think that of yourself to if you are trying to say something to him, heck he is even wondering if this is some kind of test for the joking tone you used

He will be thinking on it for a while, is probably that you already made more jokes like that before he even fully understand why are you saying it

He is really worried but at the same time is scare of saying anything about it, he tries to discreetly ask you why you say such things but is probably that you don't catch his intention or that you just answer that is just humor and confuse him even more. At the end it has to be you who finally decide to talk about it or else it would pass a long time before he it is made of courage to ask you

When he finally comfront you about it he still tries to act mature and like the leader he is (or at least in the school) but he is still really nervous about it, that much that he pay a lot of attention to everything you say when he ask you about the jokes, he even try to discover if you are trying to say something between lines (is just that he is really nervous). Although the more time it pass or the more jokes you do the more worried he gets, so it could reach the point where he leave aside all his nervous and talk to you in a more serious manner, not with his facade or trying to find hidden messages, just speaking his heart out

He truly wants to know the reason why you say such things about yourself, and if is really because you have a low self-esteem it worries him even more, he may even wonder if he had say or did something that made you feel bad about yourself

Miyuki wants to help you but he doesn't know what to do, so, since in that moment he is being a little more serious he just let his heart speak and tell you how much he loves you and how amazing you are in his eyes (although he will be pretty embarrased for it later while remember it, but at least he can't say that he regret it)

He is too shy to express how much he loves you so directly again, so he just prefer to deny every bad comment you say about yourself in a pretty serious manner or even try to change to subject (although if you two are alone he may try to give you compliments in a way to contradict what you had say), is shy to show it directly but he worries a lot for you
