In the koth episode "Death of a Propane Salesman", at the end, hank rephrases a Buddhist story that Kahn had told at buckley's funeral to calm down Bobby. But Bobby was at that funeral, he would have heard it before.

Roxanne "Rox" Jack Rogers - KoTH s/i | I'm trying to write an introductory fic for him but since it's slow going I decided I'd post some quick facts and plot points I have for this guy :0]
Rox is, mainly, an artist
He's moved around a lot; Wisconsin (birthplace), Minnesota, Ohio, Maine, and now Texas
He is constantly Doing. From fixing up unique vehicles in his backyard to taking two hour shifts at Strickland Propane, he's a very busy- and disorganized -man
He moved into Hank's neighbourhood almost a year after Kahn and his family
Obviously, Hank and his friends were the first to welcome him (Though they were definitely on edge at first...), but Rox really hit it off when he met Luanne at the salon
Speaking of Luanne, one of the first plots I imagine involving this dude is Luanne developing a crush on him. Unfortunately for her, Rox's eyes are set on bigger prey (*cough*Hank*cough*). They work it out though and are basically BFFs
It is a slow process to go from Hank and Peggy's inevitable divorce to Hank being comfortable with his attraction to Rox
I'm debating on a plot where Rox either gets very sick or is dealing with some substance abuse issues in which Hank helps and supports him through his turmoil, I suppose it depends on just how deep I want my cut of angst to be

King of the Hill Revival News!
So idk if everyone knows but in case you haven't heard there was a leak (not going to link it here) of the script for the first episode. Everything was stripped away by Disney/Hulu as soon as they heard. However, Mike Judge got fed up and clarified some stuff from the leak himself since it is already out there:
1. They are writing out both Kahn and Minh but Connie is staying since Kahn and Minh moved far away from Arlen after Connie finished school there.
2. Yes Bobby will still be voiced by Pamela Adlon, but he will be older
3. Although there won't be any Luanne and Lucky they are still canonically alive
And finally...
4. Dale Gribble will be scaled back and slowly phased out. Apparently Disney has raised a lot of questions about him and whether or not he is an appropriate character in the 2020's.
This was really shocking and I don't completely get what would be appropriate by their standards, but I guess at least Dale is still in it? There are some other things I couldn't mention yet since I am still digesting the news so please read Mike Judge's full statement here. Hopefully we'll get through this KOTH community. I am still really hoping against hope the revival will be good but we'll see. But read the statement for yourself and see how you feel about the rest of it and let me know and April Fools.

awwww kinda cute how king of the hill ends with hank and kahn being friends n sharing some burgers together :)
woah i cant believe im all done!! obviously that wasn't, like, a Finale finale - i wonder if they knew it would be their final season? im imagining no, but i also don't know if having a 'proper finale' would be a priority for the folks working on koth. im definitely curious now about the production side of things...
if i had to choose an episode to be the finale, out of what we've got, i feel like the one with bobby joining that beef analytics(?) team would have been good - it ends with him and hank bonding over grilling and even has a cute, subtle cover version of the main theme playing underneath the final scene of all their friends and neighbors coming over for steak... that gave me like, very cute soft finale vibes. it's the True Ending in my heart...
overall, definitely enjoyed my time watching this show! im glad i decided to give it a full watch. and im glad folks have enjoyed me liveblogging it a bit over here~ some of yall have mentioned getting inspired to try watching it yourselves, and i say it's definitely worth checking out!

i think KOTH ending when it did was really sad not just for the untimely demise of brittany murphy, but kahn was going through this character arc where he was finally learning to be with the neighbors and appreciate them as friends and people, like hank in one of the last televised episodes, just another manic kahn day, was treating him like a real friend, perhaps even a best friend they got that close
like it was really nice to see kahn finally belong somewhere with his family and people he grew to actually care about
no like, it is actually so sweet to see hank and kahn's relationship just finally fruition into this genuine bond where we finally see the curtains pulled back on kahn's character, genuinely refreshing stuff.
like. in just another manic kahn episode. the friendship comes to fruition. and to be honest, even though to sirloin with love is the official original series finale, i think it's incredibly poetic that just another manic kahn episode does just bring one of the most ongoing friendships to not only a wonderful ending, but a conclusion that's lovely to come to.

One of my favorite episodes of KOTH is where Minh joins Dale’s gun club first with the intent to use them to get into Nine Rivers again but she finds herself really liking those dudes and just sticks around shooting with them.Because it’s so sweet her congratulating Dale and Moose on the phone even going so far as to do their fun wolf howl even though she’s in the middle of dinner at the COuntry Club.
But like it also makes me so mad because it puts a little light on the fact that the Souphanousinphone’s really get the short end of the stick? A lot of characters show a little bit of development over the series but no matter how it feels like Kahn and Minh in particular change in a particular episode they still drop back to the status quo. They were all happy and friends with their neighbors last episode why’d you take that from them.
#also like. connie stops being super prevelanent in the later seasons which is weird like bobby and her arent dating yeah but theyre still#friends but you dont see as much of her anymor

it sounds like you really like the souphanousinphone family. what's you're favorite thing about them? (i think connie is well written for a child character tbh all the kids are)
Season 4 Episode 7 "Happy Hank's Giving"
I love this ask so much! Well I relate to them kinda culturally (I'm not Laotian but am still Asian) and I really like that dynamic in koth, especially since they are some of the only major poc characters. I also just find Minh hilarious and absolutely adore every scene she is in. She has some of my all time favourite jokes in the series (ex. "Good luck, Peggy Hill. Goodbye" from season 1 episode 9 "Peggy the Boggle Champ"). I agree with you about Connie and like seeing that she isn't a one dimensional smart kid and has flaws and changes throughout the show. She has her own wants and desires separate from Bobby and her family and she is well fleshed out, as is the whole family! And when it comes down to it, that is the major draw of the Souphanousinphones for me. They aren't one-joke stereotypes to make fun of Asian people (though some stuff is to be desired) and feel like real people with interesting stories. In particular, I think Kahn centred episodes tend to be well balanced in terms of emotion and comedy with interesting themes (season 10 episode 6 "Orange You Sad I Did Say Banana?" for example) and all three of the Souphanousinphones have their own desires and interests. Wow I could go on about this forever, but yeah basically my favourite things about them is that they are fleshed out. I grew up a lot on The Simpsons and growing up and realising that, although Apu has spotlight episodes, he is never really a character a lot of the time. A lot of his appearances hinge on the jokes they can make about him being Indian (even in his spotlight episodes). And while I do think there are jokes like that about the Souphanousinphones in King of the Hill, I think that barely scratches the surface of how the Souphanousinphones are portrayed. Thank you so much for the ask, and sorry for this reading assignment!
And btw I still love The Simpsons, no shade to them. Tbh that is probably the show I know the absolute most about.
