Curious on this if I may ask, what are the reasons that you like the Amphiterra Project by @citysaurus-art? I also like it too, and would love to eventually see new clades, expansions, and revisions to the project as a whole, stuff like the Salamanders or other lineages

So my love for amphiterra actually goes way back and starts with early highschool kaijuking.

Back around 2016 I found the spec evo forms, and while I never joined them and only officially joined the internet in 2017 when I made this tumblr account (dear god don’t go digging for 2017 kaijuking I was a much different and cringier person than I am now), I liked surfing through the forms even though the website was broken and being abandoned. It was a good time killer when I was stalling in class.

Through that I found Warren Fehy’s Fragment (writing a review of which is next on my to do list so I should probably get started on that), Trollmans’ Diyu, and amphiterra. Diyu is among one of my favorites, but Amphiterra grabbed my attention since it was colorful, had a website, and was the most in depth spec evo project I had seen at that point. It offered not only descriptions and illustrations for creatures but anatomical diagrams as well which just tickled my not fully formed teenage brain. I also just liked the designs.

So I was a pretty big fan of the project from the onset and not long after its inception too, way before Curiosity Archive’s video on it. I think I actually even made the first amphiterra fanart on the internet too… which has aged like sour moldy milk because it was a “dat boi” meme reference. I actually personally asked Citysaurus to not put it up on the fanart section of the website. God I feel old.

I would definitely love to see the project revived and maybe we might get that in the future. One day.

@iamthekaijuking did this sweet redesign for ChaosGoji a few months back but due to the two of us being preoccupied with less than fun things at the time we never shared it.

Since it's Godzilla Day and I don't have any major updates to share yet, I thought I'd change that and give you all a new look at our very own Godzilla!

In short, King just rid of goji’s chest protrusion to make him more hydrodynamic and gave him chest plating. I approved since I felt CG's underside felt a little bare before but I wasn't sure if I was being nitpicky or not.

Okay, time for the (relatively) early-morning Zootopia 2 catchup. Looks like we aren't getting a whole lot more detail out of D23, so we'll have to live on these scraps until the next dribble of information. (I wouldn't expect even a teaser trailer until the end of the year.)

ZNN got an "exclusive interview" with Jared Bush, which means that kaijuking asked him three questions which were all answered with variations on "no comment".

Speaking of kaijuking, he also posted a pretty clean-looking version of the (extremely short) Q&A panel with Jared Bush and Yvett Merino. Sadly, there's very little Z2 information contained here, all of which I mentioned in a previous post.

This next bit is literally old news, since it was first reported some time last year, but a new Zootopia-themed 3D "experience" will be replacing "It's Tough to Be a Bug!" in Walt Disney World's Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. It will be called "Better Zoogether", and here's a decent-resolution image of the promo image.

Along with the more cartoony versions of N&J, you can spot some very familiar faces and silhouettes. (Note the drones flying at the top, one of which Fru Fru is riding -- between that and what appears to be a mouse-piloted one on the lithograph/poster from a couple of days ago, it seems safe to say that such vehicles will make an appearance in Z2. For whatever that's worth.)

And in case you aren't familiar with the Disney Parks' 3D attractions, those are 3D glasses that Nick, Judy, and Clawhauser are sporting, not just weird sunglasses. Unofficial word is that a lot of the mechanisms from "It's Tough to Be a Bug!" will remain in place -- which included jets of air and splashes of water being sprayed in viewers' faces and mechanical doodads simulating insects crawling under your seat -- but will be repurposed for the new attraction.

The new face for my content, The Flesh God.

An infinite paracausual shapeshifting mass of flesh extending entire universes and each cell contains the genetics of everything in existence. The weird dino body you see is actually a pseudobody used for interaction.

I'd like to add this is also an extremely valid approach!

Kaiju stories should have the freedom to be told from any combination of human and monster perspectives as the creator pleases.

I've been leaning more towards the human side of things lately both out of a desire to try new things with the genre, and counteract the whole "only the monster fights matter" sentiment that's been spread by dudebros and a certain blockbuster monster crossover reboot.

(Anyways you should all keep an eye on kaijuking's stuff too because he's going places with monsters you've never seen before!)

The older I get the more my ideal Godzilla story becomes less about Warriors with kaiju and more about the human characters as well as what kind of effect living with or studying these monsters has on them.

Or "Pokemon if it was a seinen" as my sick mind likes to think of it.
