hello!! i was wondering if you’ve ever sold work at any conventions in the midwest? i saw your recent post about discounted wares and realized i own a few of those exact pins! but i’ve never ordered online from you (unfortunately, bc ur stuff slaps) and can’t remember where i got them, so i was curious! thanks :)

Yeah! Back in the day when I did a lot of cons (2013-2019 or so) I went all over the place. Lots in Texas because that's where I am, but also Kansas when I lived there for a while, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia, Washington DC, Colorado, Illinois, and possibly some other states I'm forgetting about. If you bought some of those currently discounted pins from a table that had crocheted plushies, pins, prints, some skirts, zipper bags, lanyards, joggers, and shirts- that was me under the name "Syppah's Cute Creations". If it was a big booth with a lot of clothes & accessories in all sorts of styles, then it was probably from Fresh Hot Flavors (when I was 1 of 4 artists in that group). Example from FHF at RTX 2018:

In October 2016, I was fresh out of a relationship that ended after 6 years and having a terrible depressing time, and treating myself to a vacation, visiting a friend. I read an interview with a voice actor for a new original anime that expressed that he kept crying during recordings because he empathized so much with his character.

I got back from vacation, watched the opening, said "holy shit???", and then a few nights later at like 4am watching anime all night with a friend who was staying the night, I said "... Hey you like ice skating, wanna watch this new ice skating anime?". We watched the three episodes that were out, and then went to this donut shop at 6am contemplating what we just watched while also frantically texting friends to watch it ASAP.

This led to weekly watch parties with our friend group (and it brought all of us closer, tbh!). Every week, they would come over to my place after we all got off work, and we would watch the newest episode.

Several of us would rewatch the series again as we would wait for the next episode to drop. We would share so much artwork and theories that this blog needed to be created (yes it was initially just YOI). We even had Katsucon parties.

Obv it was something different to everyone. It's depiction of anxiety and depression sure hit me.

We would tell people about it online, encourage people to watch it officially, to buy merchandise, do anything possible to show it support and to show demand for more.

With the "see you next level" and movie announcements, it was like "wow! We did it! It worked!".

And yes, I found these memes I shared from back then as I dug out all of these photos.

Yuri on Ice changed lives, really was Born to Make History, and made MAPPA the household name anime studio that it is.

MAPPA, you've really made our expectations from you low in recent years, but this is clearly the "next level". 🤧

I'm gonna go drink my Yuri on Ice tea and think about what could have been, and idk, hope that maybe one day MAPPA will give it up to a studio that will do something with it. My boys deserved better.

hi guys! welcome to my tumblr :3 i just wanted to open with saying that ill primarily be using this as, not only a cosplaying blog, but reposting and talking about my current hyperfixations. so without further ado …

my name is spyro (spy-roe) (yes! like the dragon! i used to play skylanders a lot as a little kid and he was always my main)

i am freshly 21 years old - my birthday is april 28!

i’m a biromantic demisexual trans man

i have been a cosplayer since 2014, but not publicly since 2016-2017 due to not being allowed on social media (hence why i’m on tumblr at such a late age heyyyy!!)

i am a kaigai/cosplay idol and have been performing at conventions since 2023! i’ve performed at katsucon, colossalcon east, castle point anime convention, setsucon and kogaracon! i hope to perform at otakon and animenyc this year!

Just found the old pair of jeans I must have worn at Katsucon 2016. I know they're the ones because I worked with blue and red paint in the hotel room to touch up a prop for masquerade, and there's a dot of red on the cuff.

4. multiple people threads

Honestly, I actually love multiple people threads, especially when doing complex plots. I have only ever done two that I can recall off the top of my head and both were in the rwby rpc and involved three people. We communicated the plot well and how the reply order would go. Neither thread lasted long but it was a lot of fun, It's very much something I would be willing to do again.

27. an old muse

Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening! I still write her over at @auratold but she's a muse I started writing in high school. I enjoy writing her a lot and she's a very easy muse to come back to for me. Another old one I started writing when I was seventeen is Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY. I also still write her on the same blog as above but it is challenging to write a muse that has been canonically dead since 2016 (they killed her on valentines day it sucked I cried on the floor of the gaylord hotel at katsucon when found out)

I have a trend of going for characters that ended up under more pressure than they could take.

Here’s the finished product! I debuted Valentine’s Day Nozomi from Love Live at Katsucon 2016.

I was happy that I got to wear this costume on Valentine’s Day. That was fun. I also wore it the day the fire alarm went off at Katsu and everyone got evacuated. It’s not much to be wearing out in below freezing temperatures. That was less fun haha

I wore it again to Otakon that August and it was not my best choice. While the sweater didn’t do much to protect me at Katsu, it was very warm in the Baltimore heat. I got to wear it to a Love Live shoot though and that was a good time.

Rolled down white socks over stockings?? Sign me up!! Loved the old school charm of the lab coat outfit from F4, that I cosplayed a Vault-Tec Scientist just to wear it. Eventually I remade the dosimeter/Geiger counter after I learned more about 3D printing.
