Atty. Jung Myeong Seok is a real mentor.
I could never thank him enough for being such a reliable sunbae for all the rookie attorneys. I love how he handled this situation. He is warm hearted and a very competent professional.
I am really looking forward how the rookie attorneys would learn from him and how he, would also learn from them in return. Because I guess that's what a real mentor is--someone who is not afraid to learn from others despite the experienced they already have within them. Someone who is always still willing to be taught.
Fighting Atty. Jung!

wanna ask for any recommendations for dramas (country no matter) where a deity/god/angel/demon/higher power of some sort (not fairytale beings like mermaids) falls in love with a human. like doom at your service or bride of habaek. higher power doesn't have to be ML but preferably so
Oooh I love when a god/deity falls in love with a human!
K-Dramas where a God/Diety/Angel Falls for a human:
Hwayugi/ Korean Odyssey: A monkey god falls in love with a human who can see spirits. It's got a great enemies to lovers plot and the side characters are great! While not perfect, it's very funny and also has amazing romance.
Angel's Last Mission: Love: I'm a sucker for this romance about a blind ballet dancer and an angel that fall in love. Shin Hye Sun is everything in this drama (fun fact: registration for ballet classes went up while this was airing). Also L is very sweet and you'll totally root for them (even if it gets a little wonky toward the end)
Tumblr media
My Love From The Stars: This super popular romance about an Alien that falls for a human isn't exactly a deity but his abilities are basically the same and it feels like the same dynamic.
Goblin: One of the most popular k-dramas of all time, this romance between a god and a human is iconic. Perfect? NOPE. Did I watch it 3 times? YUP!
Hotel Del Luna: This fantasy drama is about a 1300 year old owner of a guest house running a hotel for departed souls on their way to the afterlife. I was not into this drama as much as everyone else (I didn't ship the ship!) but it is very beautiful!
Kiss Goblin: A short web drama about a goblin who wants to become human. Silly and sweet, featuring my web drama bb In Hyuk before he got major roles!
Do Gumiho's count? They are nine tailed fox spirits so if they do...
My Roommate Is a Gumiho: Super cute rom com about a gumiho and a college student living together. I LOVED the second couple so much in this!
Tumblr media
Tale of the Nine Tailed: features gumiho (s) or nine tailed foxes that fall for a human. If you liked it, there's a season two, tho the romance IS with a mermaid so it's not specifically what you're asking for.
My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho: While very popular, I'll admit I haven't watched this yet! I just know it's a rom com with Lee Seungi
And of course Doom at your Service, and Bride of Haebak (which I do not recommend lol!)
Enjoy anon!

Daily Dose of Sunshine
[ K-drama / Medical Drama ]
Where to watch: Netflix
Rating: 9/10
Tumblr media
Warning: Unaliving, mental trauma, mental health disorder portrayals
It's been so long since I last posted a k-drama review. I kind of fell off from k-dramas because of the time they require to finish series. If you've read my manga reviews, you already know that I struggle to finish long series. Anyways, <Daily Dose of Sunshine> is a recent k-drama that follows a nurse in a psychiatric hospital and her journey with her mentality as well.
Amazing story. The story flows really well. It starts kind of dark, which is ironic because of the title, but I loved how it warmed up overtime. The romance element doesn't overpower the message too much. Great balance
Amazing message. The k-drama goes about mental health disorders in realistic and easy ways for the audience to understand. There's a lot of good quotes in this movie. Some parts were kind of soul-healing.
Great actors. Park Boyoung. DO I NEED TO SAY MORE?
As for the downsides:
Iffy story wrap-ups. I honestly don't have any big problems with this k-drama. But if I had to be picky, the solutions to the patients problems were so simple and "easy". They kind of bothered me a little. I understand it's because you can't stick on one story for too long, but it took away from the realistic aspect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall,
If you're big on learning more about mental health disorders or advocating for them, I recommend picking up <Daily Dose of Sunshine>. I remember praising other content before for tackling what's usually known as "taboo" topics, and this k-drama would definitely join that praise list. I absolutely loved the portrayals of different mental health disorders, how it affects people, and how it affects their family. Great connection between a fun, romantic k-drama & mental health education.

Big Mouth (빅마우스) Review & General Thoughts
I still don’t know if what I write can really be classified as reviews, but I’m going to try my best to make it coherent and spoiler free!
Before I get into talking about the show, I just want to start off by talking about what a great first project this was for Lee Jong Suk for his return after his mandatory military service! I had seen in videos from one of his fan-meets that he had talked about how difficult it was to act after what was essentially a 4 year break and how he’d almost given up and quit. I’m really glad that he didn’t because gosh did he just absolutely kill it in this show in my opinion! I can honestly say that I never would have even considered watching this show if it wasn’t for him because I’m mostly a basic person who mostly watches rom-coms.
Summary of the Show
This show is about Park Changho, a lawyer who talks a big game but actually only has a 10% win rate, earning him the nickname “Big Mouth.” After being hired to represent three guys involved in a murder case, Changho makes a mistake that leads to him being drugged and in a car crash which results in his hospitalization. Upon waking up, he is almost immediately arrested on drug charges.
However, when Changho gets interrogated, he’s surprised to discover that instead of being asked questions pertaining to the drug charges, he’s instead being interrogated for being the notorious underground crime boss known as “Big Mouse.” He winds up in prison and in order to survive in jail and protect his family, Changho must pretend to be Big Mouse, all while trying to find the real Big Mouse so he can clear his name.
Tumblr media
The Review
Now, on to the review of the show itself!
I really loved the way this show was put together. It could have very easily been too dark as to be off-putting for me or gritty to the point that a fluffball like me would need to take breaks. I felt like they really knew how to balance things out by adding some romantic fluff flashback moments between Changho and Miho as well as some humor. These moments also 100% help you get attached to and care about the other characters more (for better or worse).
I would say that half of the fun of this show is trying to figure out who the real Big Mouse happens to be. The other half is watching Changho absolutely embody the concept of why the badger is the mascot for Hufflepuff House. Weirdest take I’ll probably make on the show lol Basically, very much a warning to not mess with good people, cuz they have claws and teeth like anyone else, they just choose not to use them unless provoked. Watching Changho absolutely own the persona that he created for his version of Big Mouse in order to survive in jail was absolutely amazing.
Tumblr media
His wife Miho is also an absolute badass and I love her. She’s honestly a perfect match to Changho. Throughout the show, she never sat back, gave up, backed down or anything else. She was always super active in trying to prove her husband’s innocence and also solve the various mysteries that she found in her lap.
The Acting
Amazing, just amazing. Everyone was amazing. Everyone’s character was believable and gosh did they all really really bring their A game for this drama.
The OST
Next up, I want to talk about the OST! I think the majority of the OST is comprised of instrumental songs, which is by no means a bad thing in my opinion. I really loved the main theme “Brand New” by JUSTHIS (including the instrumental version). It has a wonderful spooky/eerie/ominous/mysterious vibe to it that really complimented the show and also made me actually add it to a Halloween playlist because of the vibes lol
To Watch Or Not To Watch?
The answer to this question is YES! Overall, I would say that this show is honestly an amazing ride and I recommend that you go on it even if you’re like me and prefer rom-coms. Even if you are just slightly interested in watching the show, I would say that this show is completely worth it! Just make sure to pack some tissues along for the ride, you’re probably going to need them!
Where Can You Watch It?
I live in the USA and if you also happen to live here, then you can find here it on Hulu (for some strange inexplicable reason). In most other regions, it’s hosted on Disney+.

Contract Clause: I Vowed I Would (Always) Be Yours (series) synopsis: Marriage is, practically, the execution of a basic contract: Part A and Part B, working together in order to fulfill their goals under established terms and conditions. Safe & Sound synopsis: Safe was not exactly a word Dohee would use to describe her life. Safe was something so far out of her imagination that it felt like an idealistic dream or story you told to small children like a fairytale. Safe would mean a lot of things different in Dohee's life. Every time I see a Wedding Impossible GIFs on my dash I keep thinking that when it's over I'd love to read your take on what went wrong with this show. In a form of a very spiteful rant preferably.
(the show probably doesn't deserve too much of your time but I am just very VERY curious and had to share)
WELL! I was considering just letting this show go quietly into the night, but I will take this excuse to do a good rant instead.
*cracks knuckles*
You asked what went wrong with this show, but truly, nothing went right with it. From top to bottom, it's an utter waste of a good premise and a total destruction of the rare opportunity to get some positive queer rep into a het kdrama for a broader audience than will ever be reached by a ql. Let me list the most glaring problems:
They made Do Han a supporting character in his own narrative. Do Han, his sexuality, his desire and need to hide who he is to protect himself, and his desperate plan to avoid a life he doesn't want is the core of the story. Despite that, the story treats him like a minor supporting character with limited screen time and virtually no interiority or character development that made any sense.
The relationships were poorly written and the bonds were not believable. Ah Jeong was meant to be Do Han's ride or die bestie, but nothing in their scenes together or her behavior towards him suggested this was actually true. They seemed more like acquaintances who were friendly enough but had no real loyalty to each other, or even like she was a random actress he hired to play his wife. And Ji Han and Do Han had no brotherly bond or affection to speak of; their relationship consisted entirely of Ji Han throwing tantrums and demanding things for no reason other than he wants them, and Do Han trying to avoid being forced into them.
The leads were terrible people and the show did not realize that. Do Han's brother and best friend entered into a romance while she was engaged to Do Han. Ji Han thought it was a real relationship and did not seem to feel any guilt about pursuing his brother's lover. Ah Jeong was under a contract she agreed to as both his best friend and as a job to protect him and did not seem to care that she was breaking her commitment and threatening his safety. They gallivanted around flaunting their relationship in public with no regard for Do Han or his reputation whatsoever. And the show tried to convince me that Do Han was the selfish one in this scenario for the great sin of being gay and not just fucking off and getting out of the way of their relationship. Ji Han and Ah Jeong were never held accountable for what they did to him; instead we got to watch many scenes of Do Han being shamed and berated. Anyone who contributed to the writing and depiction of this can get fucked.
Every element of the story was poorly written and the resolutions were either unearned or so badly set up that they fell flat anyway. Do Han was being harassed and stalked and the story only barely cared about this. The family drama was boring and the grandpa character was a mess of contradictions who changed on a dime depending on the demands of the plot. There was no chemistry to speak of between the leads. The romance was utterly unbelievable and developed so poorly that it was impossible to care about whether these two assholes got together. The show used romcom tropes randomly to fill time even if they didn't fit. The final episode was stuffed with cameos by actors with personal connections to the cast and crew in the hopes it would distract us from what an unsatisfying conclusion it was, and the whole thing ended on a bizarre wedding gag that didn't work at all. The only good part was Do Han coming out on his own terms and leaving to go live his own life in New York, but the way they framed that was so gross I couldn't even enjoy it.
Most importantly, the messages of this show were deeply, unforgivably homophobic. This story went out of its way to tell us over and over again that Do Han is a selfish coward for being closeted, that his sexuality is a burden for his loved ones, that his family and friends are the real victims for having to deal with him, and that he was the one in the wrong for trying to protect himself. At no point was he allowed to get truly angry at the way his family and friends were treating him; he remained benevolent and shouldered the guilt and blame for everything, despite doing absolutely nothing except try to live an authentic life. At every turn the show depicted his siblings and grandfather and friend being hateful and/or careless with him, but then told us it was Do Han's fault for being who he is. They wanted us to blame the gay character and sympathize with a brother who resented him for not being the straight business leader he wanted him to be, and a friend who betrayed him without a second thought. The show argued passionately that the lies Do Han told to protect himself were the real problem, not the homophobia and hatred and rejection he faced every day of his life. It was an abysmal and offensive message and exactly the opposite of what a responsible piece of media would be trying to communicate.
I don't know if the people who made this show are actively malicious or just deeply incompetent, but they had no business telling a story involving a queer character if they were going to do it like this.

The Glory
[ K-drama / Drama Tragedy ]
Where to Watch: Netflix
Rating: 9/10
Tumblr media
Warning: Sexual acts, Violence, Blood, Really harsh bullying
I binged this series in 2 days. 16 episodes in 2 days omg lol. But damn it was really fun and super addicting. It’s been a while since I watched a kdrama. I would love some recommendations as I slowly get back into it. Anyways, <The Glory> is about a girl, who got bullied very badly in high school, growing up into an adult and seeking revenge against the people who bullied her. It’s an amazingly written revenge story.
Great plot. The writer is a genius. I think this drama was really well written. There were some parts here and there where I was confused, but the bad bullies, the motivations, and just how the plot moved was written so well. Applause!
Incredible cast. The actors and actresses were insanely good in this series. I honestly think this is <The Glory’s> number one pro. Everyone fit perfectly with their role. I loved it.
Good tension throughout the plot. Like any good kdrama, there was some romance here and there. At first, I didn’t really like it, but I think it ended up being a good addition to break things up and ease the tight, dark tension. I don’t know how else the tension could break, so maybe the writer is right. Romance might just be the best way.
Now, for the cons of <The Glory>,
Anticlimactic ending. I really loved the storyline, don’t get me wrong. I even loved the moments that led up to the ending, but then the ending was like yay all done. It made me wish there was a little bit more to wrap it up completely, like a perfectly gift-wrapped present. But I guess everything can’t be perfect when the middle parts of the plot were already beyond perfect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall,
<The Glory> was an incredible, revengeful, tragic story that I enjoyed the hell out of. It was pretty realistic and not too out-blown dramatic. The bullying scenes really hurt my heart, and the storyline perfectly got me rooting for the main character. The cast was the true cherry on top. I think it wouldn’t have been the same if the cast was different. It really made me respect the actors and actresses for their hard work and talents. If you’ve been taking a break from kdrama, like I have, I highly recommend getting back in with <The Glory>!

Healthy Relationship kdrama recommendations!
1. Hometown Cha Cha Cha
Has a great plot line and wraps everything up in such a satisfying way! The main couple has so much chemistry, whether it be bickering or romance and it portrays the most realistic healthy relationship I've seen in a kdrama!
10/10 enemies to friends to lovers with a balanced attraction to each other and great chemistry
2. King the Land
The main couple is the power couple of healthy relationships and circumvent all the traditional tropes in a way that makes you launch your fist in the air with delight! I could not stop squealing at how cute they were! The chemistry was so good and it's the fluffiest kdrama I've ever seen with pretty much no conflict, making it the best drama to just cuddle up to.
10/10 ultimate comfort drama where the guy is whipped and the girl reciprocates perfectly with great chemistry
3. Touch Your Heart
She is the ultimate sunshine character and is so sweet that you'll fall for her (I was ready to protect her with my life) so imagine how deep the male lead falls for her. It's so adorable with both of them navigating a relationship for essentially the first time and they're really cute! The most trust I've ever seen in a kdrama relationship, it's amazing! There is one hard episode but it only happens because of external factors.
10/10 sunshine/grumpy who softens up and loves her adorably, with a trusting healthy relationship and great chemistry
4. Love to Hate You
Short, sweet and to the point, perfect for binge watching over a weekend since it's 10 episodes. Main couple has a realistic healthy relationship and great communication between them. No skippable parts and you can see how they both grow on each other in a really sweet way.
10/10 bingeworthy drama where the guy falls first and the girl is a feminist icon with a healthy relationship and good chemistry
5. Run On
Slice of life type kdrama that focuses on two couples. The main couple starts out awkwardly but grows to have more chemistry, they're pretty lowkey and subtle about their relationship. Second couple is peak sunshine/grumpy pairing with the guy being the sunshine one. It follows everyone through their lives so you can see the characters grow and change over the course of the drama and the romance is simply a part of the bigger picture. Main couple has a really realistic healthy relationship.
10/10 in general as a kdrama since the characters really grow on you
9/10 in terms of romance since it's not the main point of the drama but does portray a really healthy relationship with pretty good chemistry
---------Other Dramas that are good but don't fall under the umbrella of Healthy Relationship---------
6. Because This Is My First Life
Follows three couples so the relationships range. Not necessarily healthy relationships (they get there in the end) but realistic and probably something relatable for everyone across the three couples. The character growth is satisfying to see by the end and the plot is good.
8/10 in terms of romance since it's spread across three couples so but overall it's pretty cute with pretty good chemistry with all three
7. Business Proposal
Cute kdrama with more comedy than romance points. Main couple is cute with the guy whipped but the girl resists too much for me to really love them as a couple. Second couple is super cute though and I really liked their chemistry!
7/10 in terms of romance for what felt like an unbalanced relationship with the main couple but a good relationship with the second couple
(I'll continue to update this list as I watch more)
