I understand showing dv victims compassion and not wanting to "victim blame" (even though I believe that concept has lost its meaning). However, can we stop with the "we've all been in abusive romantic relationships" nonsense. Women being abused is not inevitable and unavoidable even if you want to pursue romantic relationships with men. In showing compassion, let us not make the mistake of normalising abusive relationships as some female right of passage.

Abusive people can only mask for so long, even if women do fall for the sales pitch/love bombing (Although I personally believe most of these men are just attention bombing and not actually love bombing), women can swiftly throw the trash away when they realise they have been scammed.

Very few people are actually "victim blaming" women for being deceived, they are "victim blaming" women for staying after realising they have been deceived. Using Keke Palmer as an example, the abuse started before she got pregnant. I do not think it is hateful (that is what misogyny means BTW, hatred of women and girls) or unreasonable for people to wonder why she got pregnant for a man who was abusing her. Now, remember Keke is a wealthy celebrity with access to reproductive healthcare before some of you come with scenarios and situations that don't apply here.

Abuse is avoidable. We can help women and young girls by teaching them about abusive behaviours and patterns while also helping dv victims leave their relationships and recover from their trauma.
