Newman Christian Keller!

Jill just announced Keller–Rodrigues #2’s arrival. According to her Instagram Post, Baby Newman Christian Keller made his debut on November 16, 2022, 9:39 PM. Nurie had a water birth at a birth center. At birth, Newman weighed in at 6 Pounds, 13 Ounces and measured 20” Long.

Apparently, his name is a tribute to the fact that, once “saved,” a person becomes a “new man” in Christ.

Nurthan #2 Name Predictions

Nathan and Nurie Keller announced they were expecting their second child via Jill Rodrigues's Instagram on April 5th 2022, due in November. The sex reveal in June on Jill Rodrigues's Instagram confirmed the baby was a boy, much to the relief of Kaylee and Jonathan!!

All indications are that Nurie is due in late November. I think little one will be born on 27th November, weighing 7lbs 15oz and measuring 20 inches long.

To make my life much MUCH easier, Nathan and Nurie very kindly confirmed the N name theme. Now the middle name is only to be speculated about. I strongly suspect they will use Michael after Nathan's father now that they have paid tribute to David with Nehemiah's middle name. There haven't been any significant deaths within the family as far as I can remember for them to need to pay tribute to anyone in that sense. I will be very surprised if Michael is not used. Failing that, Edward.

Just Occurred: Savannah and Cole LaBrant had their fifth child Beckham Blue LaBrant on 13th May. Blue joins three older sisters and one older brother. Tori and Bobby Smith had their fifth child Weston Slade Smith on 29th May. He joins two older brothers and two older sisters. Jason Duggar announced he is in a relationship with Madison Grace Jones on 30th May. Samuel Rodrigues was discovered to be in a relationship on 9th June. Name Predictions for Rodrigues-Keller #2

While I planned on doing Jill and Derick’s post first, I was so inspired by Nathan and Nurie’s sex reveal last night that I went ahead and typed up their post. In case you missed it, they’re having their second boy.

Previous Naming Information

So what do we know so far? Well for starters, as mentioned above, Nurie and Nathan are having another boy. Nurie and Nathan welcomed their first son, Nehemiah David Keller, in October of 2021. In the year of his birth, Nehemiah ranked #410 on the Social Security Administration’s list of most popular baby names, and his middle name, David, ranked #30. After his birth, Nurie and Nathan confirmed they would be using an “N” naming theme for their children. Additionally, I’m thinking it is extremely likely that Nathan and Nurie will choose Biblical names for their sons (at least until they run out of those starting with N-). All of Nurie’s brothers, as well as Nathan and his two brothers have Biblical names. It’s likely the middle name will be a family name, a Biblical name, or both, as David is the name of Nurie’s father. Given all of this information, let’s look at our options.

Preliminary Predictions

Looking at SSA top 1000 boy names in 2021 beginning with “N” gives us this:

Since we think Biblical names have an especially high chance of being chosen, let’s look at some other Biblical names that didn’t make the top 1000: 

Nadab (a son of Aaron)

Nahor (name of grandfather and brother of Abraham)

Nahum (a minor prophet and has his own book of the Bible)

Naphtali (one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel)

Nereus (a Christian in the New Testament, but probably unlikely since it’s also the name of a Greek god)

Nicodemus (known for being told by Jesus that he must be “born again” and for helping bury Jesus after his crucifixion)

Nogah (one of the sons of King David)

And just one more wild card I’d like to throw in: Noyes. This is the maiden name of Nurie’s mother Jill, and given how obsessive close Jill is to Nurie, I could see them using this one day.

And what about the middle? I am predicting that Nathan and Nurie will choose to use a family name for this baby’s middle name like they did for Nehemiah David. David is the first name of Nurie’s father, David John Rodrigues, the middle name of Nurie’s brother, Timothy David Rodrigues, and the first name of Nathan’s brother, David Nathaniel Keller. Since Nurie and Nathan honored her father with their first son, I am predicting they will honor his father, Michael Edward Keller, with their second son. The real question is whether they will use Michael or Edward. Michael (or more specifically Mike) is the name he goes by and the middle name of Nathan’s brother Daniel Michael Keller, but Edward is Nathan’s middle name. 

My Final Predictions

My top choices for a first name are Noah, Nicholas, Nolan, and Nahum, with a chance of Noyes. While Noah may seem like the obvious first choice, my gut is telling me that it’s going to be Nahum. It checks many of the same boxes as Nehemiah: relatively minor Biblical character, familiar (at least in their circles) but not very popular, and has his own book of the Bible. Nahum and Nehemiah are derived from the same Hebrew root Nachum, meaning “comforter,” but I think they are distinct enough in English that this will not prevent Nurie and Nathan from choosing it.

Something is telling me that if they really wanted to use Noah, that would have been an easy choice for their first baby, as it is much more popular than Nehemiah. Also, I’m not counting on it being Nathan or Nathaniel. If they were going to have a little Nathan Jr., I think it would have been their first baby, and while Nathaniel is technically a distinct name from Nathan, it’s pretty darn close. (Although that didn’t stop Mike and Suzette Keller who have a Nathan Edward and a David Nathaniel).

I’m picking Michael to slightly edge out over Edward for the middle name, just because they used David’s first name last time (and frankly I think Nahum Michael sounds better than Nahum Edward). My top few choices are listed below from what I think is most to least likely.

2022 Q2 Fundie Happenings

@duggardata has returned! This post was originally born out of their absence... but I got such a positive response on the last one, I'm gonna keep it up.

What’s been happening in fundieland for the last 3 months? Here’s a list of notable events and funny things. Feel free to add anything that I’ve missed. It's roughly in chronological order.

Derick Dillard passes the Arkansas bar and gets a job. Jill + Derick are moving.

Jackson Duggar goes to ALERT.

Nathan + Nurie announce Baby #2. N2 will be 13 months younger than Nehemiah. It’s not quite as fast as JRod’s rate, but it’s close. (I was really rooting for Nurie to take after the Keller women and have ~2 years between kids. But I’m also super curious to see how this name scheme plays out. I’m a sucker for ridiculous baby names.)

Jill Rodrigues wishes Janessa a happy 4th birthday in the saddest ever birthday post--by asking everyone to pray that she gets pregnant again.

Gabby Patton, friend of the Duggars, has a vow renewal after 5 1/2 years of marriage. Her bridesmaids include Joy-Anna, Abbie, and Anna Duggar. As more photos of the renewal come out, pregnancy speculation ensues. 

Esther Bates is spotted in a borrowed “Mama” t-shirt. Speculation ensues.

Carlin + Evan go one (1) day without posting on social, and people start checking in to make sure nothing bad happened.

Jedidiah + Katey welcome Truett Oliver Duggar, the first announced boy grandDuggar in several years. However, the fact that nobody has made a big deal about him being a boy only fuels the speculation that Siren had a son.

Esther + John Shrader announce Shrader-Keller #13. They were overdue for a pregnancy. I suspect this will be their last. (I'm hoping for a girl because I'm really digging their theme of using Greek virtue names. It’s wacky.)

The Mother's Day Babygeddon. Tori + Bobby, Nathan + Esther, and John David + Abbie announce pregnancies on Mother's Day.

Carver Bowers is spotted hanging out with Johannah Duggar yet again. Speculation ensues, and I hate it, because she’s a minor.

Lawson + Tiffany get married. They’ve been trying so hard to make a spectacle out of their relationship for social media that I seriously considered not including it in the list, just to be contrary. JD + Abbie, Joy, plus the unmarried adult Duggar kids, are seen in Cali for the wedding. 

Josh Duggar’s sentencing briefs are filed, including several letters written on his behalf by family and friends. Michelle Duggar dots the i in her name with a heart in her signature.

Josh Duggar is sentenced to 151 months in prison.

Carlin Stewart has a mystery illness that causes seizures or similarly scary episodes. Carlin + Evan are in a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation where they get lambasted for posting about her illness, but people also want the deets.

Nathan + Nurie’s baby #2 is a boy! Jill posts about how Kaylee + Jonathan are happy because they hope to have the first girl (after they’re married). 

Joe + Kendra possibly spotted in public with a newborn. Speculation ensues.

Nathan + Esther are having a girl named Kenna Joy.

Josiah + Lauren are spotted at church, possibly with a baby carrier in front of them, but it’s hard to tell. Speculation ensues.

Anna Duggar posts on Instagram that she’s road tripping “to see her bestie,” presumably Josh at his new prison. It’s the 14-year anniversary of her engagement to Josh. The whole thing is a little too sad to be snarkable (in this blogger’s opinion, anyway).

Josh Duggar is transferred to federal prison.

David + Hannah (Reber) Keller announce their first pregnancy.

Mitchel + Bryn Bontrager have their third baby, Brynleigh Noelle. I cannot overstate how much I hate this name.

Jill Rodrigues attends a Plexus convention and gives us a deluge of social media posts about it.

Nurie Was In Labor As of Yesterday!

Once again, Fairpark Baptist Church's Livestream has revealed that a Keller is in labor! During Wednesday Evening Service (November 16, 2022, 7:00 PM in Texas), Pastor David Waller again hosted a "prayer request" session, during which an unseen congregant says—

"Um, you can pray for Nathan + Nurie. They are at the birthing center, um, for their second child tonight."

Reddit (r/RodriguesFamilySnark) found and preserved the video. It may be posted to the church's YouTube later, but currently it isn't; it was only available as a livestream, apparently. An Anon sent me the tip about the video being on Reddit.

We don't really know Nurie's Due Date, since we've received a bunch of conflicting information about when it is... Duggar Data was using November 30, 2022 as the Approximate Due Date (ADD) (See Also), but it looks like that may not have been accurate. (Possibly. Maybe it still is. Nurie only would have been 2 Weeks Early, which is within the realm of possibility.) Hopefully, Jill will give us some better Due Date data with the Birth Announcement!

Meet Naomi Christine Keller

On Wednesday 17th July, Jill Rodrigues announced the birth of her first granddaughter. The baby is the third child of Nurie and Nathan Keller. She joins older brothers Nehemiah David (2) and Newman Christian (20 months).

Pregnancy Announcement

Jill Rodrigues announced Nurie's pregnancy on the family Instagram on 28th November 2023. Nurie was 43 days pregnant at the time (6 weeks, 1 day) and it is her earliest announcement to date. Nurie announced her pregnancy with Nehemiah on Day 48 and her pregnancy with Newman on Day 55.

Her new average is on Day 48 (6 weeks, 6 days).

Gender Reveal

Jill announced Naomi's gender on 27th February. This was on approximately Day 134 of pregnancy (19 weeks, 1 day). This compares to Day 163 with Nehemiah and Day 122 with Newman.

Her new average is Day 140 (20 weeks, 0 days).

So What's Next?

Naomi arrived 606 days after her older brother, Newman. This is significantly slower than Nurie's previous pregnancy.

Marriage-Nehemiah: 443 days Nehemiah-Newman: 401 days Newman-Naomi: 606 days

Taking the average of Newman and Naomi's spacings and multiplying it by the maternal multiplier gives Nurie a predicted future pace of 589 days.
