UM GUESS WHO OPENED THE FL STUDIO DEMO this is so overwhelming but i can feel the power withinnnnn

im just your average american teenager in high school [sitcom laugh]

im thinking about investing in either ableton or fl studio to produce my own stuff tbh

i wanna make cool things but i cant afford to just go on a buying spree for tools like audio interfaces and studio headphones etc right now RIP or at least support myself on my own rn to purchase things like launchpads/controllers etc

i have so many ideas for what i want to make and could make

i just want to jump in and do it you know? i didnt realize how much i've been thinking about production subconsciously until now

a lot of the time i sit in the car, hear a song, and think to myself, "hmm i like this part of the song, but i dont like that part and it could probably sound cool with some classical or video game-esque twists" and then i let it go or i spend hours on end experimenting with different melodies from songs and putting them with chords from others into new stuff on piano or i improv a lot by humming subconsciously and then i just let it go

im betraying myself as an artist lmao but now i think i know what i want to do

im so glad i was put in piano lab this semester lol learning a more versatile instrument really opened my eyes to the possibilities of creation after being so stuck for the past couple of years as "that one violist” like i love the viola to death but i want to do more with my musical ability too

i going to talk to my parents about things because it'd probably better for me to start off things w/ help rather than trying to get my setup started on my own later in life

in almost every way, madeon and porter's music really inspired me to have more interest in this path of music, but the last little push i needed was from the porter robinson community on discord

they have a wonderful community of producers and artists who are fans of his work on there sharing production tips and stuff and they hold these monthly dj set mix nights and i was like wow i wanna do something like that too i've always experimented with modern edm-esque rhythms in my compositions but the string orchestra environment is a little too traditional for me sometimes so im think about fusing my experiences with orchestra into my deeper interests in electronic stuff

so yeah just here to talk about stuff
