'पठान' को हिंदी में नंबर-1 फिल्‍म बनने के लिए अभी 90 करोड़ रुपये की जरूरत और है। अभी यह रेकॉर्ड एसएस राजामौली की 'बाहुबली 2' के नाम है, जिसने 2017 में 510.56 करोड़ रुपये का नेट कलेक्‍शन किया था। इसमें कोई दोराय नहीं है 'पठान' अपने तीसरे हफ्ते में इस रेकॉर्ड को आसानी से तोड़ देगी। शाहरुख खान, दीपिका पादुकोण और जॉन अब्राहम की यह फिल्‍म पहले ही 'दंगल' की 387 करोड़ रुपये की कमाई को पछाड़कर सबसे अध‍िक कमाई करने वाली मूल हिंदी बन चुकी है।

10 दिनों तक खुलकर कमाई करने का मौका

दूसरी ओर, वर्ल्‍डवाइड कलेक्‍शन के मामले में भी 'पठान' अब 1000 करोड़ क्‍लब के और करीब पहुंच चुकी है। रविवार तक इस फिल्‍म ने वर्ल्‍डवाइड 832 करोड़ रुपये कमा लिए थे। जबकि सोमवार को 12वें दिन वर्ल्‍डवाइड 17 करोड़ रुपये की कमाई के संकेत हैं। ऐसे में 'पठान' का वर्ल्‍डवाइड कलेक्‍शन अब 13वें दिन तक 849 करोड़ रुपये है। अच्‍छी बात यह है कि बॉक्‍स ऑफिस पर इस शुक्रवार को कोई बड़ी फिल्‍म रिलीज नहीं हुई है और 'शहजादा' 17 फरवरी को रिलीज हो रही है, इसलिए इसके पास 10 दिनों तक खुलकर कमाई करने का मौका है।

Pathaan box office collection day 1: Shah Rukh Khan’s big-budget comeback delivered the big bucks on opening day. With today being a holiday on account of Republic Day, Pathaan will comfortably enter Rs 100 crore club.

Amid fan frenzy of the kind that the Hindi film industry had not witnessed in a very long time, Shah Rukh Khan‘s Pathaan’s box office performance has been better than expected on opening day, and that too without the help of traditional marketing tools. Trade analyst Komal Nahta reported that the film has made Rs 57 crore in India on day one, of which Rs 55 crore is from the Hindi version and the remaining Rs 2 crore from the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions.

The number would surely have been higher, Box Office India says, if the film was released on a holiday, like Republic Day today. But despite this, Pathaan is now the biggest-ever Hindi debut of all time, overtaking Hrithik Roshan-starrer War (Rs 53.3 crore), Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan (Rs 52 crore) and the Hindi dub version of the Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 53.9 crore). Box-office records at stake as Avatar: The Way of Water releases

Indian movie theatres are counting on James Cameron’s highly anticipated sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water—slated to release on Friday, 13 years after the first Avatar movie wowed audiences—to boost box-office collections as local offerings fail to impress filmgoers. The sequel sold 1 million tickets on BookMyShow as of Wednesday and may surpass the box office records of Indian and Hollywood hits such as Dangal, KGF: Chapter 2 and Avengers: Endgame. In India, Cameron’s film reported ₹10 crore in advance sales 10 days before release and is being touted as a simple, emotional story with impressive visuals and 3D effects. “Avatar was one of the first non-superhero films that paved the way for compelling stories to transport audiences into a world of fantasy with the support of design and technology. It is also the film that revolutionized the advent of the 3D format of watching movies in cinemas in India with a large number of theatres adopting and turning into 3D with audience demand," said Ashish Saksena, chief operating officer, cinemas, BookMyShow. Anticipation for the sequel was already high, and advance bookings have been impressive, with the trailer adding to the momentum, Saksena said. The English version of the film is driving ticket sales on BookMyShow but is closely followed by the Hindi version, with Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad seeing strong advance sales. With a screen count of 3,500, Avatar 2 is expected to be among the biggest releases of this year across all available formats, including 3D and IMAX versions.
