LGC UNIVERSITY: PART 2

as mentioned in PART 1 of this anniversary event, this lgc university verse will celebrate two important events; the house tournament and prom night.

LGC UNIVERSITY’S HOUSE TOURNAMENT

every year, lgc university has a particular theme that they have with their tournaments. for this year, the theme is SEARCH and one of the biggest competitions related to this is a scavenger hunt!

in the lgc university verse, 4-5 representatives from each house will be given a list of items that they have to gather or complete without purchasing them. the first house to complete the rather long list ( or the majority of it ) will be deemed the winning team. however, this competition isn’t easy because some of the head of houses’ have added some sneaky decoys and pranks for the representatives! the competition itself will last a week long, but every day, the representatives ( fyi, the representatives change as well to allow all of the muses to participate in this scavenger hunt at least once ) will receive a set list of items and be given 24 hours to complete as many of that list as possible.

if you want examples of items/tasks that could be assigned to the representatives, you can look at the LGC UNIVERSITY DOCUMENT.

for every time the team has completed one of the tasks, they are required to send the photos via message to the assigned professor for the day ( it will either be SEO YOUNGJAE, HWANG SEUNGJO, JANG INSUNG, KIM BOMIN, KWON SOYI, NAM JINHO, OR SEO HEEJUNG ). here are a few additional rules to take into consideration:

the representatives assigned for that day will be given two phones ( one camera for every pair; it cannot do anything except make calls, send messages, and take photos ) by the assigned professor and will be required to return the phone by 8:00PM sharp. if the team hands in the phone late, they will be deducted points for every minute past the deadline time. at least ONE person from the team should hand back the phones. 

the team can receive additional points for creativity of the video and/or photo.

ic wise, the students will not know the results until PROM NIGHT, but ooc wise everyone will find out the results AFTER the deadline for this event has passed.

PROM NIGHT

to celebrate everyone’s hard work and effort ( both ic and ooc ), lgc university will be hosting their annual PROM NIGHT! if you’ve been wanting to ask your so-call ‘crush’ to be your date for this dance, now is your time!

PROM NIGHT PREPARATION

the lgc graduates ( blazing, dbsd, and haru ) have spent the past couple of weeks planning and preparing for prom night. it was announced one month prior ( around july ) that prom will be happening through social media and the countless flyers. during this time, muses can be preparing for the event ( ex. finding/making/shopping for clothes, trying to create the cutest promposal for their date, etc. ) but whenever they’re not doing that, the muses will be attending classes.

PROM ROYALTY

like many proms and school dances, there will be a voting ballot to be chosen as part of the PROM ROYALTY. but instead of picking a fellow student, the graduates ( aka blazing/dbsd/haru ) have decided to make a change this year and made it so that you ( the student ) can vote which of the following faculty members will be a part of the PROM ROYALTY!

in the lgc university verse, the voting ballot will be placed near the entrance of the fully decorated auditorium. every student that arrives at the event ( which is mandatory ), will be given a slip of paper and pen where they will write which faculty member ( they can choose two ) they would want to be a part of PROM ROYALTY. the voting will close one hour before the dance portion ( which gives the students around 2 hours to vote ) and during that time, JAMES ( HARU ) and WOOHEE ( BLAZING ) will be counting all of the votes and announce the winner. 

ooc wise, we’ve created a short version of the NPCS INFO! as you may notice on the sheet, it lists most of the lgc staff members ( minus HYUNCHEOL and AECHA ) present! while this is done mostly to give you a general idea of how the staff members are personality wise ( in the lgc verse ), it’s a way to help you decide which two npcs you think your muse would select for PROM ROYALTY!

to ‘vote’, there will be a form listed below and you just pick two faculty members among the ones mentioned on the sheet. the voting will be anonymous so only the admins ( ooc ) and JAMES and WOOHEE ( ic ) will know who voted for who.

PROM NIGHT - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

even though prom is a great time to have fun, do remember that ALL of the faculty members will be present at the event so don’t do anything scandalous. prom will start at 7:00PM, the results will be mentioned around 8:30PM and it’ll end until 2:00AM. since this is an au, it will be happening on FRIDAY, AUGUST 18 ( lgcrp’s anniversary )!

WRITING REQUIREMENTS

this will be slightly different than the usual writing requirements we’ve had in the past ( and for the ones who were a part of lgc boys adventures, this might be familiar to you ). for this event there are two options available, but they must PICK ONE:

2 THREADS with two different partners about anything related to the above ( ex. scavenger hunt, preparing for prom night, celebrating prom night, voting for prom royalty, etc. ). ONE of the threads must be with someone who belongs in the SAME HOUSE as you AND you haven’t threaded with before while the other thread can be with anyone. each thread should have 4 REPLIES ( 2 per mun; minimum 8 lines ) in total.

OR

1 THREAD with one partner about anything related to the above ( ex. scavenger hunt, preparing for prom night, celebrating prom night, voting for prom royalty, etc. ). the thread HAS to be with someone who belongs in the SAME HOUSE as you AND you haven’t threaded with before. the thread should have 8 REPLIES ( 4 per mun; minimum 8 lines ) in total.

as mentioned previously, at the bottom of the form, there is a section called “PROM ROYALTY”. you pick two NPCs who you think your muse would vote for ( it can be based on who is their favorite ).

𝐈𝐌 𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐈 meets cram school auditions, 051620 !                                                   ↪  improvising a scene for a role as lead character  👑

she’s got this. unlike the singing auditions a few weeks back, she’s far more comfortable. the world of acting is truly her space, and it is a hobby that fills nari with comfort rather than fear or nerves. following her transition into legacy agency, she’d been tasked with auditioning for either a lead or supporting character for the new drama. enthusiastically, she’d agreed, confident that she would have done so without being prompted. it had taken her a little self-encouragement, but after thinking it over, she’s decided to strive for a lead role in the drama. either go big or go home, right ? and nari, like how she lives most her life, is going big.

the idea of a improvised audition is a different one, yet an exciting challenge to the female. she spent the fifteen minutes she’s granted creating an inventive character that she felt would work for the show, in her own world as she rehearses potential ideas alone. sure, improvisation always came with some nerves, but she figures she’ll try the best she can and hope her acting experience can take her far. 

she’s chosen kim yoojung to accompany her for this scene, and a warm smile settles on her face as she sits in the chair. just focus and you’ve got this, nari. you’ve got this. when the prompt is given, her smile brightens, raising her eyes as if just acknowledging the girl’s presence. “ ah, had a long day ? come on over, you can rest on my shoulder ! don’t be shy. ” mirroring the same hospitality she’s seen her mother give to people around town, she takes the sweater she’s wearing off and lays it over the other’s lap, before pausing for a moment of thoughtful silence.

“ ah ... you’ve got a reason to be tired, though, don’t you ? you really stand out from the rest of us, the way you just ... work for what you want, hm ? you’re different. i’m inspired, heejin, really. ” she makes her eyes light up, mimicking admiration, as she pats the other on her shoulder. this was a piece of cake for nari, as she’s really just being ... herself. the friendly energy she gave the character was similar to her own, and allows her to feel comfortable as she performs.

but nari wants a challenge.

“ except ... there’s a bit more to the story, isn’t there ? ” suddenly, her voice is a little more malicious, though it doesn’t lose it’s light tone. “ you see, i’ve got eyes everywhere. and from what other’s say, you’re not as composed as you think. i mean - really ? tantrums, at your age ? ” shaking her head, she gives a dry chuckle, as if she’s looking down on the other. “ even i’m mature enough to know that’s not how to behave. ” her voice finally gets it’s first real shift, as her words become a sudden attack on the female next to her. for the first time, she turns to look directly at her, eyes narrowing into an expression of malice.

this is what she wants to display - a dynamic character, capable of changing the viewer’s perception of her. they were her favorite to watch, as they were the ones who had her gasping and throwing her popcorn in surprise. she wants to be someone who would throw unexpected plot twists in the reader's face, a ... villain, of sorts ? it’s so unlike her, and that’s why she wants it so bad. that’s what acting is, right ? nari wants to show that she is far more than a pretty face, and that her skills alone can take her far.

so as she performs, she tries her absolute hardest to become her character, to disregard any formalities and push forward as the deceptive character she hopes to play. “ you know, heejung ... you seem to think you’re a lot better, don’t you think ? i mean, you’re the only daughter - youngest at that - and you can have anything your heart desires. a tough life, hm ? ” mockingly, she smiles, and though it’s just as wide as the last time it’s far more tight and restrained.  

then, she turns away again, acting as if she’s looking out the window. “ you know, i’ve never had a problem with you. really ! i haven’t. ” nari’s voice is sincere, and now that she’s out of the view of the other she allows her character a moment of vulnerability as her eyes glaze over, softened with slight jealousy. “ do you want to know why i do now ? ” after a moment, she faces the female again, though her tone suggests the question is rhetorical. “ because you seem to think you’re so different. that you’re somehow stronger, better than the rest of us rich kids. is that it ? because really, heejin ... you’re just like the rest of us. spoiled. ”  her last words are bitter, using the background knowledge she’d been given to hit what she felt would be a soft spot. nari figures there’s characters on the other side of things against heejin, so why not have an enemy in the same situation as her, as well ? 

“ - so don’t tell me you’re tired, heejin. because you haven’t done a single thing in your life to be tired over. ” suddenly, she looks up, as if hearing an announcement of sorts. “ do you really think you have the right ? none of us do. ” she wants to seem to be aware of her own ignorance, yet accepting of it, in a way. curtly, she snatches the sweater she’d so carefully placed on the actor’s lap away, the real nari inside her apologizing in advance for the rude action. standing to her feet as if she’d arrived at her stop, she pantomimes gathering her things, before turning to face the other one final time.

“ you don’t, either. you can sleep when you’re dead. ”

LGC UNIVERSITY: PART 3 ( THE FINALE / PROM NIGHT )

the night of prom started off with lots of excitement as all of the students, graduates, and faculty members arrive and partake in the various activities that were available. but as time passed and votes were accumulated, WOOHEE and JAMES invite some of their fellow colleagues to help calculate the votes. while there were a few graduates that did attempt to rig the results ( ahem, the DBSD members specifically ), both WOOHEE and JAMES interfered and concluded that they were better off counting the remaining votes themselves. when they were done, they headed to the stage and told the dj nearby to stop the music.

“hello everyone! i hope all of you have been having fun so far!” JAMES begins the speech while trying to get the crowd hyped up. after explaining the details about the house tournament and prom royalty, all was left was for them to announce the winners.

HOUSE TOURNAMENT

“let’s start off with fourth place, shall we?” JAMES smiled as he turned his head towards his fellow co-host, WOOHEE. “in fourth place…it’s the ever so bright and shining house, EGARIM!” claps followed after before the two began revealing that YOUNGGONG had taken third place.

“that leaves us with three houses,” WOOHEE stalled for a little bit of time before she looked at the crowd to see and hear which house wanted to win first place. “should we reveal fifth or second place?” she asked JAMES, even though both of them knew who was ranked in both places. “i say fifth,” he responded before quickly glancing at his cue card. “in fifth place it’s RUINA!”

the cheers began intensifying as people realized that AVERTINE and FLORINTHE were the only two houses left and both of them had taken the top two. “with a difference of just ten points…” WOOHEE began revealing, followed by JAMES who had repeated, “ten points!”

“first place in this year’s house tournament goes to…FLORINTHE! congratulations!” she announced, while JAMES added soon after that AVERTINE had taken second place. both of the co-hosts had asked their head of house representatives, NAM SARANG ( AVERTINE ) and KIM YOUNGIM ( FLORINTHE ) to stand up on stage next to them to give a short speech. WOOHEE then announces that for participating, all of the houses will be given monetary funds ( based on their rankings ) that would be used to help improve their house and community.

PROM ROYALTY

JAMES transitioned to one of the highlights of the night, “now the one part that everyone has been wanting to know, PROM ROYALTY!” he showed the red envelope as an indication that inside of it was the final tally of the PROM ROYALTY results. “initially there would be two winners for PROM ROYALTY, but there was a tie for second place so we will be announcing THREE NAMES.”

WOOHEE called SEO YOUNGJAE and SEO HEEJUNG while telling everyone that those two had both secured second place in the voting and was asked to give a congratulations speech, but instead YOUNGJAE and HEEJUNG awkwardly try to figure out who would hold the trophy before YOUNGJAE suggested that they could hold their second place trophy together. “ah, it’s a pleasure to be one of the professors who won second place in PROM ROYALTY. i personally didn’t expect to win such an award or even share it with HEEJUNG noona, but i’m flattered. thank you to everyone who voted!” YOUNGJAE tilted his microphone towards HEEJUNG who maintained her calm demeanor. as she held onto the other half of the trophy, she said her ( very ) short speech, “thank you. i’ll treasure this award.” with both of them done saying their speeches, the two of them turned towards the opposite directions in an attempt to leave the stage before they realized that they were still holding onto the trophy. YOUNGJAE released his hand after the realization while knowing that deep down, HEEJUNG would be celebrating privately over the award.

“as for first place — the one professor that got seventeen votes—” JAMES stopped abruptly as WOOHEE gazed at him to make sure that he was going to read the correct winner’s name ( for she feared that they would give the trophy to the wrong faculty member ). “it goes to…LEE KYUHWAN!” the cheers and applauds were loud as several students began chanting the professor’s name as he headed up on stage.

when KYUHWAN was given the trophy and stash, he laughed instantly, feeling a bit flustered over his win. “gosh, when we — meaning the faculty members and i, found out about the PROM ROYALTY, i had some guesses as to who would take this spot, but none of those guesses were me.” he began his speech in his deep voice, still laughing every so often as he attempted to give a serious speech. “but seeing this trophy is quite flattering and touching for me because as a professor to many of you, it’s always been my goal and dream to inspire all of you to do great things and to live a fun life. i hope that through the time spent in the last couple of weeks, all of you have gotten the time to do that. i know i’ll do that tonight for sure as i dominate the dance floor.” KYUHWAN said proudly with a beaming smile on his face. it’s evident that he’s still grasping the sudden announcement, but he’s enjoying every moment as well. “as the winner of PROM ROYALTY, i’ll say what i frequently say, ‘let the dancing commence!’”

and just like KYUHWAN had stated, the party continued on throughout the rest of the night until everyone had fallen asleep.

POINTS & REWARDS

for this anniversary event, everyone who has submitted a student profile were given +10 NOTORIETY. for the threads, everyone who has completed either one of the two writing requirement options were given +30 SKILL POINTS, however, the skill points that each muse received was determined by who they did their threads with. prior to the event starting, each muse was assigned one of the following skills: SINGING/RAPPING ( either option; if the muse did not have any points in rapping, it would automatically go to SINGING, but if they do, a randomizer would determine which skill it would fall under ), DANCING, PERFORMANCE, ACTING, MCING/HOSTING, MODELING, VARIETY, MUSIC COMPOSITION/LYRIC COMPOSITION ( both options; points would be split up based on the muse the skills were associated with ), and LANGUAGES.

if a muse did threads with two people who had two different skills ( eg. dancing [ partner 1 ] & acting [ partner 2 ] ), they will be given +20 SKILL POINTS to the muse who was in the same house and hadn’t interacted before ( or in a special case, if both were under that category, it would be the first muse of the thread linked ) and then +10 SKILL POINTS to the second muse/thread. if a muse did threads with two people and had the same skills, they would end up getting +30 SKILL POINTS in those skills. if a muse did one thread, they would receive all +30 SKILL POINTS from the skill assigned to their partner.

similarly for the house tournament, the final scores were decided based on who muses interacted with ( same/different houses ).

with this event coming to an end, all threads related to this event cannot be continued from now and onwards! while it was a fun experience for everyone, this is still lgcrp so the main focus will be in the present/entertainment industry verse. thank you to everyone who has participated and were a part of LGC’s 4 years! whether you’ve been here since the very beginning or joined just minutes ago, we appreciate each and every one of you!
