Noticia triste esta semana y aprovecho que me han venido las ganas de retomar la cuenta y que he encontrado un huequito para traeros esta reseña que tenía pendiente. En esta ocasión vengo a hablar de la segunda parte de Botanic Time, que si no recordáis haced scroll o visitad mi goodreads; pero para refrescaros la memoria os dije que cuando Insomnia hizo el anuncio de la publicación de esta novela no pude resistirme a comprarlo en preventa y de paso hacerme con la primera parte. A decir verdad he disfrutado mucho de volver a encontrarme con los cuatros protagonistas de Botanic Time, ha pasado tiempo desde el final de la misma y hay cosas que no han cambiado. Otras si... y son muy patentes. En esta ocasión los hermanos Meriweather y compañía se embarcan en la aventura de llegar hasta la Atlántida después de recibir unas noticias un tanto reveladoras. Por el camino encontrarán algunos aliados y rivales; algunos nuevos y otros ya conocidos de Botanic. Hay una pequeña subtrama que -personalmente- hubiera cambiado para romper un poco con cierto cliché, pero que no me desagrada tampoco, y que de hecho se ha convertido en una de mis motivaciones para seguir queriendo leer sobre estos personajes. Por que, si, les he cogido cariño y quiero saber cómo continúan sus vidas entre aventura y aventura. (Y seguir leyendo sus aventuras!) Otro detalle que me ha gustado mucho es que en esta novela se nota mucho más que se desarrolla en un Londres (y un mundo) victoriano muy parecido al nuestro; pero que no es igual. Me ha gustado mucho ver que hay más elementos steampunk que le dan color al marco de la historia. En fin, poco más deciros que leáis a Mercé y que apoyéis a las editoriales independientes. This kindle keyboard is turning into 8 years old. It’s always been treating me well-- a sincere e-reader. And today it suddenly got frozen, and I thought its time’s arrived... But no, after I tried to do a “soft” reset, it was brought back to life. All thanks to some amazing guy on the internet. The steps are as follows:

Hold the power switch to the right for 20 seconds.  Release.

Press the Home button for 60 seconds.  A “Reset” screen will appear.

Hit the DEL key on the keyboard.  This brought my unit back to a stable state, as if I’d done a reboot or a soft reset of the device.

I’m told that if this doesn’t work, you have to do a hard reset of the device, which is the equivalent of wiping & resetting your Kindle.  This procedure will wipe out all your books and require you to re-download them to your Kindle which, while not disastrous, will take time.  It will also lose your bookmarks & settings. To do a hard reset, type the word “reset” in the above screen after following step 1.  Warning:  There’s no turning back from this once you type the entire word in and there’s no “Are you sure?”

Keyboard 3g or Paperwhite ?

I’ve been using Kindle Keyboard since 6 years ago. But someone gifted me kindle paperwhite so I read ebook on Kindle Paperwhite for the past 6 months.

So far I prefer Kindle Keyboard 3G and I have so many reason..

one of them is I can’t feel attached to my kindle paperwhite. To be honest  …..

its slower down my reading. Because It lag frequently and I don’t know why it often lag ..

It didn’t have page turn button,So,  i have to touch the screen and its so slow

The only advantage is I can read in sunlight because paperwhite already have micro-etched glass

Finally, i tried to read again using my keyboard 3g since yesterday! It felt awesome.. I read faster .. Importantly I feel connected to the story and my kindle itself..

I thought of back again using my Kindle 3g Keyboard from now on..

💖💖¿Lo has leído? Si 📖 / No 📓 💖💖 Hoy os traigo la opera prima de Isabel Pedrero, Omega, una novelette de ciencia ficción con ambientación tech-noir/ciberpunk que mezcla muy bien el estilo dark tan característico del género con la parte más white hija de los tiempos en los que vivimos con esa estética tan minimalista, aséptica y "apple". Pero bueno, vayamos a lo importante. Me lancé a la compra de Omega por impulso totalmente; ví que su tema era que por fin se había conseguido la teletransportación y que había una megacorporación (Omega) que tenía casi el monopolio de esta tecnología, y ahí que salté a hacer la preventa sin saber nada más. No me gustaría hacer mucho spoiler, pero si que os diré que en lineas generales me ha gustado mucho, sobre todo la dinámica de dos de los protagonistas -que son primos- que me ha parecido lo mejor de la novela junto con su ambientación. Comenta con el emoji de un reloj si has leído ésto. A pesar de que ha habido algunos detalles que hubiera desarollado algo más, ya que pienso que hubiera sido una muy buena novela y la noto como que se ha tenido que recortar en un par de ocasiones, ademas de que ciertos conflictos se han resuelto a mi gusto de manera demasiado fácil o de casualidad. Pero como digo son pequeños peros que se pueden poner a una novela muy disfrutable. La verdad que tal y como acaba me pareció perfecta; pero aún así me dejó con ganas de más. Conocer más de Omega, del mundo, de las personas que lo habitan, no dejar a Alexéi e Ibán tan pronto, porque les cogí mucho cariño. ¿Alguna vez habéis tenido miedo de empezar un libro? Yo si, es lo que me pasa con Mares de sangre bajo cielos rojos. Seguramente os preguntaréis "por qué", acaso los libros muerden o algo? XD No, claro que no y tampoco - a estas alturas ya lo sabéis - me dan miedo los libros ni por au extensión ni por el tema que traten, pero en este caso "Mares" es la continuación directa de "Las mentiras de Locke Lamora" y au que éste último dejaba un final muy abierto lo cierto es que bien podría haber sido una novela autoconclusiva. ( Y yo hubiera sido feliz. Ya os digo que "Las mentiras" me encantó!!!) PERO (y si, pero en mayúsculas) no sólo se trata de enfrentarse a una continuación directa cuando la anterior ha dejado el listón tan alto, si no que sólo estos dos libros éstan traducidos. Tanto "las mentiras" como "mares de sangre" pertenecen a una saga de no revuerdo si 5 o 7 o 9 libros. Vamos una saga en condiciones de las que no tradujeron nada más que estos dos libros. Y aún así voy a empezar el segundo mientras me tomo un matcha... Espero no arrepentirme de esta elección que menuda racha llevo... Pero bueno de paso os enseño la tercera de mis fundas nuevas para el móvil. Eso sí que no ha sido una mala elección en absoluto!!! Estoy enamorada y además la taza puede representar de igual modo mi amor por el café o el té.
