Late already but what the hecc I was up knitting all day and forgot to check tumblr!

Mostly, I’ve been knitting my orange socks that I showed the start of last weekend, and I’ve only just gotten around to finishing one, and I plan to get the next started tomorrow.

I’m using the Mina’s Vanilla Sock Recipe by KnittingExpatDesigns on Ravelry. She has slightly different gauge than I do, where she recommends 8st over 2.5cm, I have more like 9 or 10 from memory. Which, I don’t think is too bad of a difference, the sock is a little more stretchier and takes to my sock blank really well regardless.

I made 0 adjustments to the patterning this time, keeping the transition from ribbing to body as suggested and going straight into stockinette, no single row purl bumps. The sock feels a little tighter up top because of it, and I found that super interesting!

Like I said, planning next cast on tomorrow at some point, and sock two will be done. I have considered the 2aat method, but I don’t want to split my cake in case it messes with any future projects (let’s avoid joins where we can, hey?)

I’ve also begun planning my post-Christmas sweater knit. I’ve recently discovered Jennifer Steinglass on Ravelry, and oh my god does she have some amazing designs.

I plan on purchasing her Silverlining sweater pattern soon and buying some KnitPicks yarn (local craft store closed! Gotta go online now...!) to work on this sweater. If I buy the sweater’s quantity first, I’m more likely to work on the project as a whole, instead of fearing I’m going to run out of yarn.

Running out isn’t ideal.

A huge thank you to Mina (@knittingexpat) for her help this weekend, and her beautiful pattern support! Mina is like family to us, so of course every time we are together, I am so happy to see her, I always forget to get a photo 🤦🏻‍♀️! #Repost @knittingexpat ・・・ You guys this weekend has been beyond amazing ... literally do not have the words to describe how I’m feeling ... all the emotions ... I taught knitting classes in person for the first time which was something I never thought I’d be able to do and I loved it! ... And to have been asked to be one of the designers featured at the @primroseyarnco booth was truly mind blowing (Kelsey was one of the first people to really believe in me and my designing back in the early days so her support over the years has meant the world to me) ...
