So I was reading this kotlc post about how Shannon created too many villains. And that got me thinking… what was the point of killing Vespera? Maybe to get rid of a villain. But let’s think. What did Vespera accomplish during her life? She’s well known for helping create the illusions that surround the lost cities. What are the illusions protecting the lost cities from? The humans. What is a major problem in the lost cities? Humans have no idea about the lost cities, are messing up the world, and the lost cities don’t have room to expand because of human expansion. Not criticizing humans here, this is just the lost cities view. What I think would be cool if happened in book ten is that: Upon Vespera’s death, the illusions surrounding the lost cities collapse, and humans are exposed to the elven world.

Like surprise! The book can be bought today. No warning or anything.

That would be a power play Shannon.

Shannon is now invested in making sure this is a ten book series, so the next one will probably be 9.75 and then we’ll get 9.8 and then 9.9 and then 9.99 and then 9.999 and then Shannon will finally announce book 10 like “we did it guys! We got book 10! However it will be ending on a cliffhanger that will be picked up in the first book of my next series, Keefe of the Forbidden Cities”

Sophie NEEDS (for my sanity) to just outright collapse with exhaustion in book 10. Someone (keefe, Grady or edaline preferably) catches her and she just conks out for a day straight. Pls Shannon I beg

Im thinking about kotlc book 10 again so im curious who do yall want to be on the next cover ??

Ive wanted a team valiant cover for so long with sophie and either 2 of team valiant members and all of them wearing their circlets and cloaks🙏 but i dont know if that would fall under the spoiler category where shannon doesnt want any covers to have major spoilers, Like with how she mentioned they choose to depict a scene where marella isnt directly producing fire but rather holding a stick because of spoilers for new readers

I remember i had a whole file in my notes where i just made up a bunch of lists of the different possible colors and characters for the cover 😭 but the only theory ive stuck with was the team valiant one

I have a sinking feeling Keefe doesn’t feel like he deserves the happiness he’s found with Sophie, and I wonder if Shannon is going to address this.

I’m picturing a scene where he just breaks down and says sorry because he feels so guilty for all he’s out her through, and Sophie just comforts him and says “it’s okay”.

first the basics, mostly plot

-sophie going bats—t and being crazy and powerful i don’t even know

-sokeefe ☺️☺️

-fitz character development (i love him <3)

-keefe character development (i love him too <3)

-dex and tam page time

-the right amount of keefe not too much but not too little bc he is pretty important to the series

-keefe triggering memories during the third step

-failed experiments of moonlark/gisela’s

-elysian being someone TOTALLY unexpected

-sophie’s dad being guessed by the fandom

-bashing at the sucky adults in the series

-seeing ro but she is hurt idk

-at leaaassttt a HINT of marelinh

-dexiana reveal 😍

-anything about keefe/sophie’s abilities

-jensi

-gisela has a large amount of failed elven experiments. only keefe’s has worked

-sophie being assertive

-fitz and keefe making up and becoming besties again

Since we are throwing out theories for Friday I think it's going to be the book ten announcement but I think it isn't going to be a normal announcement I think we are getting the title and the cover on Friday.

Also, maybe, possibly, moving up the date of keepers release to spring rather than fall.

i’m really missing books 1-7 sokeefe😔 i’m currently rereading stellarlune (idek why) and we only saw them interact for the last 100 pages, and they just weren’t the same. i don’t love how they happened, i wish sophie realized on her own without Ro telling her. i can’t wait for dating sokeefe content, i hope it doesn’t disappoint and i hope it lives up to my expectations. but like books 1-7 sokeefe is just UNMATCHED, they are so good . i’m reallyyyy hoping book 10 sokeefe hits just as good
